no doubt, nothing like going to the dock and meeting the boats when they get back, buying a bucket of lobster, get another bucket of seawater to cook them in (that way the salt content is just right and going home for a feast! . mmmmmmmmm lobsters..... edited to add, just remembered a red lobster story. i once hauled a load of fresh newfoundland scallops to boston, then loading frozen scallops from taiwan and hauled them to red lobster in toronto. if you want good seafood, at least find a good fish market! wasn't there someone who landed a canopy on top of a balloon, then changed rigs (there was one on the balloon) and jumped off of it? one plane ride, two freefalls, two landings! amazing accuracy landing on the balloon. sabre 190 manufactured in 1992 with original slider?
kingbunky replied to crotalus01's topic in Gear and Rigging
from what i have heard, stuffing the four outer cells from each side into the center cell can damage the center cell as the others are pulled out of it during deployment. what i was told to do is roll the outer cells towards the center and leave them beside the center cell, then push everything ito the pack job a little so that everything is more or less flush. i jump a mid 90's sabre 190 and recently had to replace my slider due to damage. i contacted pd and was told that they do not recommend pocket sliders. i'm not sure of the size of the slider the do recommend, but the model number is LS-190. well, first off, in canada it's PFF, not AFF (a small distinction). that said, i took it over the traditional progression becausei felt i would learn more, quicker, and safer, with instructors at my side. where in canada are you? it is a big country! okay, sebazz could handle the 3 hole punch, and you could be the 'foreign correspondent' with the 2 and 4 hole punch reports. actually, just to keep things equal, sebazz could also handle 1 hole punches. where is sebazz, he has work to do! a disturbingly complete history of the stapler, but here's no mention of the red swingline! also from imdb: The red Swingline stapler that Milton was so afraid of having taken away was never actually manufactured by the Swingline company; it was instead painted red by a crew member in the props department. However, following the movie's success on video as a cult film, the demand for red Swingline staplers (apparently as a symbol of quiet rebellion among cubicle-bound employees) was so great that the company began to sell the red Swingline stapler on its website. maybe sebazz could do a site on the history and relative merits of the 3-hole punch? milton: "...but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire. 10 Perish In Hendrick's Motor Sports Aircraft Downing
kingbunky replied to rwieder's topic in The Bonfire
update from nascar.com: NTSB: Hendrick plane failed to climb November 5, 2004 04:25 PM EST (21:25 GMT) MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) -- The Hendrick Motorsports plane that crashed Oct. 24 and killed all 10 aboard missed the approach to the airport and then failed to climb before crashing into a mountain, according to a preliminary report Friday. The National Transportation Safety Board said the proper procedure after a missed approach at Blue Ridge Regional Airport in Spencer called for the aircraft to turn right and climb to 2,600 feet. Instead, the report said, the Beech 200 King Air actually descended before crashing into the southeast slope of Bull Mountain at an altitude of 2,450 feet. The crash killed the son, brother and two nieces of owner Rick Hendrick, patriarch of one of NASCAR's top syndicates. The plane was en route from Concord, N.C., to Martinsville Speedway. The report does not draw a conclusion as to what caused the crash but it does note the plane was not certified for instrument-only flight and did not have a ground proximity warning system. One witness said the mountain was hidden by clouds and fog that day. Pilots of at least 20 other planes, most carrying sponsors and race fans, decided it was too dangerous to land at Blue Ridge Airport at the time and instead touched down at Danville Regional Airport, where landing in bad weather is easier. i was travelling at about 60 on a dark, rainy night. saw the deer running down the shoulder so i got on the brakes a bit, then he hung a left in front of me. i got him with the fender of the truck resulting in some cracked fibreglass, a bent bumper and a pair of headlights got snapped off. stopping was not an option (115000 pounds doesn't stop very quick), nor was putting 48000 litres of gasoline into the ditch. according to the driver of the car behind me, the deer rolled down the shoulder for about 150 yards. Not nearly as much as the damage done by his burt renold's driving skill. from personal experience, yes, it can do quite a bit if damage (unless you have a 'roo bar), but significantly less than having the trailer fall off. 1. pay off all my bills, put enough away to educate my kids. maybe start a scholarship in town for deserving kids while i'm at it. 2. build/buy a dz. we have one now, but bigger is better! make it bigger than we need on the 'if you build it, they will come' philosophy. 3. lease a jet (737 or something similar) in early august to fly around the continent gathering up all the peeps who said they didn't go to the wffc because the couldn't afford to go. then do the same thing for the dz.com boogie at christmas. 4. see the world! and while i'm dreaming, i want a pony. shit your pants, then deal with it as prescribed by your instructors. only if you buy her a ticket. check your oil, it may be low. you may also be using an oil with too high of a viscosity rating. try a synthetic or semi-synthetic 5w-30. then again, maybe it's just old, worn out and tired of your abuse. thanks!

i know it all, cuz now i'm a 100 jump wonder! our season is drawing to a close and i was worried about getting to the triple digits, but i braved the cold on friday night for #97, showed up bright and early saturday morning for #98, and the weather held for the day (contrary to the forecast) and i got to #100 around 5pm. it was a 2 way horny gorilla that held until about 5500 feet (from 10500), great fun! i got my pie (a lovely combination of coconut cream and mustard. they went easy on me because the water had been turned off due to subzero temps at night. beer was bought and consumed. yay me! now i'm sitting in an airport waiting to get on a plane they won't let me jump out of. air canada is funny like that.
