Excellent colours my man. Patience young Jedei.....

How good is your photoshop knowledge? When I ordered my tie dye, I used photoshop to play about with variations. This one is navy blue, on purple, on white. Side panels are navy, teh purple and white solids are obvious. Given the chaotic nature of tie dye, you should expect some 'variation' from your concept visualisation. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. I load my Spectre, and my sabre (when Slappie is finished with it!) at around 1.6. Spectre performance is 'spirited', however I find it similar in 'hungriness' to my sabre. At this loading, it will bite you if you screw up. I don't go for performance landings, per se, so I guess there are characteristics of this canopy I have not yet explored. I have about 900 jumps on canopies at this loading, and the spectre is my #1 choice. I have no experience of crossfires, other than I hear they have similar deployment characterictics, ie soft and fluffy, with predictable on heading openings. PM me if you want to chat about anything.

"anyone else have anything similar?" Why yes, now that you mention it.... "I can't say if they hold out their products as fully composite or not. " Umm, I wouldn't criticise on the use of the term "composite", the description applies equally to glass and carbon fibres held in a resin (and other stuff) matrix. At least thats how I describe this material.... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Computer requirements and software?
nacmacfeegle replied to JJohnson's topic in Photography and Video
"Those are the worst things to have running when you are trying to build a stable system for NLE." Microsoft's "Find fast" is a pain in the pooper too..... Find, download, install and run Enditall....it clears up a load of background shit that may be running invisibly... "You (usually) dont get quite as much bang for the buck as far as bundled software goes, but sometimes those bundles just get in the way." Agreed an dthe value of free software? Well its only valuable if you actually have a use for it... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Computer requirements and software?
nacmacfeegle replied to JJohnson's topic in Photography and Video
"or simply designed to do a different task. " This is really at the core of the issue, if you are tooling up for a job, you really ought to work out what the job entails before you go out and buy the tools to to do it. EG if you want to cut down a tree, you don't go out and buy a box of spanners. Similarly you don't go out and buy a chainsaw, then try and figure out what you can use it for..... For most editing applications that we can reasonably foresee, a straightforward no frills firewire card is enough. eg for tandem videos you would have a 'master project' with fancy effects (if thats what is required) pre rendered so you just have to drop in your tandem footage with simple cuts and fades. I would argue that a good linear edit board operator will beat a newbie NLE operator hands down, in terms of time to final product. If you are looking at making boogie videos, then a more specialised card maybe even a real time card may be the order of the day to reduce render waiting. If you are 'taking this seriously' you should at least consider getting a bespoke system custom built to your spec. There are plenty of companies around that will build you a box that you can get working with in a very short time, and more importantly fix it quickly when you screw it up (consider getting laplink support as an option). You really want to be spending your time flying this, not fixing it. If the thought of re-assigning IRQs, changing BIOS settings etc scares you, go for a custom system. The builders of these systems often offer well priced hands on training as part of the bundle, which could save you many hours in the long run. As for for Mac vs PC issues, well its like the old 'best container' discussion.... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. "Why not just use snaps? " I'm not overly comfortable poking holes in my risers (did it a long time ago to fit PdF soft links), also as the snap has a grommet edge on both sides, they can present a snagging risk to your break lines. But hey, I'm all about choice... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Saddam's Defense Strategy (Long, and probably boring)

Hmmm. justifiable cause for concern. Dirty bomb detonates in Hämeenlinna, after effects could be felt as far away as Wales, Scotland, Norway, South Africa, and Namibia. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. What on earth makes you guys think that this war will only be fought in Iraq. Paranoia warning.... Why can't the inspectors find any WMDs in Iraq? He has already relocated them to a more tactical location. EG Washington, London, NYC, LA, etc.... He's had 12 years to move them.....I order to cause max chaos, all he has to do is set off some relatively inoccuous dirty devices in areas of mass transit, and the cities will grind to a halt. Nobody has to die either, the mere suggestion that you have been exposed to something like Strontium, or Caesium will have you running for a check poste haste. This will overload any local medical facility. Panic and chaos will ensue, a terrorists delight! -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Peace brothers, in my native tongue...English... (from Cambridge International Dictionary of English) cabbage noun a large round vegetable that is often green and which can be eaten cooked or raw a savoy cabbage red/white cabbage My cabbages (=cabbage plants) didn't grow well this year. Children never seem to like eating cabbage. (British taboo) A cabbage is someone who has lost all their powers of thought or speech usually as the result of a serious accident or illness. "On a Friday evening, Nacmac was fond of going to the pub and getting 'cabbaged'...."

"the owner of the lines you just walked on might get violent in your general direction, or at least call you mean names " An ex-climber over here, I'm with you man.... As for mean names, I have a very special section in my lexicon for people who step on my lines.....I will save the faint hearted reader blushes by not detailing these words here..... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Hi Chris, http://www.skydivestrathallan.co.uk/ Is probably the closest being only about 1/2 an hour away, the town nearby has good public transport links, train/bus etc. http://www.paragonskydiving.20m.com/ Is not bad, I heard they had a fire, so don't know if they are still operating. http://www.skydivestandrews.co.uk/ Is where you will probably find me. All these DZs have accommodation, and other life support facilities. Generally if you don't have transport, you should call the DZ and they will put you in touch with someone who can probably give you a ride. Stirling is pretty central so anyone coming from the larger cities of Glasgow, or Edinburgh may be able to pick you up. Be warned though, skydiving in Scotland is not the same as jumping in the US. The above are pretty small DZs, mostly only operating at weekends, but we are a friendly bunch. The DZs have more of a cessna club dropzone to them, which is kinda nice. PM me if you need any other info. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
