  2. Shane was wearing a camera on the jump. Since I stayed with him until Life Flight arrived I did not see the video, but was told that it showed his approach and the low turn. I was under the impression from things he was saying he knew he was in trouble. Shane was a nice guy who was really funny at times. He loved skydiving. We will miss him at the DZ. Blue skies forever! 5. Good one Richard! Hope zennie's wife doesn't read his e-mail!!!! Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  6. Slap's right it was a great party. It was good to see the local dz.com people (where were you Zennieand AirAnn?) and laugh about some of the past and current threads. Most of the joke awards given out were funny and right on the mark. It was good to see Divot up and about finally. Congrats to Steve and the Spaceland staff for a great party. I couldn't believe the packing room looked so nice. I thought I was in the wrong place at first! Draft of year-end video looks really, really great. All Eric and Mykel need to do is cut me out of it and add some good RW stuff. Enjoyed meeting all the people from Australia who dropped in to jump and stayed for the party. And since Slap did not mention it, all the ladies looked great dressed up. Guess that is why most people did not leave early! Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  7. Clear blue skies yesterday, today and forecast through Christmas at Spaceland. Tem 68F - 45F each day. Winds at 9MPH. And we have a few of the UG women!!! Only bad news is I have to work through Thursday... Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...

    Help!

What am I tofu? You owe me several RW jumps that we were supposed to do before the dz.com weekend remember? Anyway, when you are back in the air Jeff, Greg, Shelly and I would be more than happy to bring you up to speed before you tacke Scotty or Tom's larger groups. One of us is always there so come on over and join in. Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  10. You might try: Bud's Loft, 119 Main St, Gardiner, NY or his affiliated company: Parachute Equipment Corp, 69 Main St, Vincentown, NJ 08088, gear@paraequip.com For $1,000 (plus you buy your own Cypres) and a commitment to purchase your own gear from him, Bud will build you a complete set of gear that you can use for up to one year. During the year you may downsize the gear as many times as you want. I have known some guys that took advantage of this program and they were very pleased with the equipment and Buds service and reserve repacks. Only disadvantage I can see is that you pay full retail for the final purchase. Still the savings over buying the first set of gear and then selling it to downsize can more than make up the difference. Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...

  12. Let's see...who shall I believe...Osama or Bush? Osama implicated in numerous incidents worldwide, hates US. Bush appears to be honest and credible. Gosh guys this is really a difficult decision...if pigs fly! Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  13. I agree with mountainman. I don't think we have any aircraft owners in the US who would spend the bucks for a great paint job like Pinks. Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  14. A pool is also in the plans, but since the spring fed pond is enjoyable the pool has a lower priority in his plans. Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...

  16. For everyone's info: SDSpaceland has contracted to build cabins. Each cabin will have four sofa/bunks, heat & a/c, etc. Next on the improvement schedule is a covered pavilion that will include, bathrooms, showers, and washer/dryers. No word on cost for a cabin. 17. And for me: 1) 350 jumps 2) First 3D jumps 3) Everyone at Spaceland 4) Owning an airplane! Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  18. It was a guy that fell into the trees at the ranch. Tree limbs broke his fall and the only injury he had was a sprained ankle. The video is some scary sh#$. Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  19. Went into a store several years ago wearing my Combat Advisor Association bbhat. The shop owner asked if I served in VN. When I said yes, he thanked me for my service and apologized for not thanking me 20 years ago. I didn't know what to say! Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...

    ~Coach Jumps~

Amen Jeff. We do it because we love the sport, like most of the people, and don't want others to make the mistakes we made. Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  21. I agree with Slappie, it does kinda' look like Spaceland especially around the hanger. How about I convert that dollar to a beer? I am sure we will end up on the same DZ someday. Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  22. What worked best for me in both a no wind and a light wind day was smooth pull all the way to stall (full flair) beginning about 10 feet. Stall actually occurred just as my feet touched down. In a higher wind, the canopy still had good penetration into the wind and was very gentle on landing since speed was not as fast; without much difference in the flair. Gemini ... Fear? 23. Phil hit it right on the head. I have jumped a friends Sabre2 150 after spending 400+ on a Tri 175. Flare was the same and there is plenty. Turns were quick and steeper, very responsive canopy. The landing final approach was a lot faster, but except for the speed didn't seem much different. Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  24. A Triathalon opening is 400-1100 feet depending on how the nose and slider are packed. 10G sounds like it would hurt a lot! Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
  25. As you said you were retired military, you are therefore authorized to jump with both the Green Beret and 82nd freefall activities How does this work? Does it apply to retired only or all veterans? Gemini ... Fear? Fear is riding the plane down ...
