Don't know what you're talking about, that link works perfectly. What edit? Oh that was for a minor spelling mistake :-P
-
Oops, sorry, the link I posted was broken. This is the correct link This is not standard JumpTrack functionality but something that Falko worked out himself. Haven't tried this myself yet, but intend to when I get a chance and some good data. It's ideal for a video like this, i.e. a solo jump where this isn't a great deal to look at or gauge the flying of the jumper with.

Should've overlayed the ProTrack data

I'd love a copy of that data to put up on www.jumptrack.com How about taking up a GPS such as the Garmin eTrex Vista too?

http://www.swooping.co.uk/ Edit: to specify the competion is in it's infancy not the swoopers!

Alternatively, in Internet Explorer at least, right-mouse click on the page (it's loaded in a frameset which is why Kelly's link wasn't direct, so make sure you are actually in the frame with the document), select Properties from the context-sensitve menu. You can copy and paste the URL from the Address (URL) field. for use in URL links as explained by Hookit

HMA lines- history of snapping without warning?
cpoxon replied to dbattman's topic in Gear and Rigging
Peter Learmonth's accident I'm pretty sure there was some follow-up from the manufacturer but I can't locate it at the moment. -
Anything to do with A New Type of Canopy Quick Release, Doug Bahniuk?
-
The Neptune Wow, did Alti-2 updated their website for the Symposium? I'm impressed! Wot no download?! Edited to add: What's the form factor? ProTrack size? Probably not if used for a visual alti?

Not quite -
Model: Mojo 220 should give it away; it's a Consolidated Rigging t-shirt. It's not listed on http://www.crmojo.com/prices.htm (only says t-shirt) but is on http://www.crmojo.com/adobepdf/accessories_01.pdf under "Warning Label" The one I have has "READ THE ?#$%!& DIRECTIONS" on the left of the chest with the label on the back.

Isn't that similar to the way the Atom is designed (not sure about the Legend)? I don't have an Atom, so I'm having trouble visualising but don't they have an extra flap at the top that effectively seals that area and forces the bridle and the pin to be routed from the bottom?
-
The form factor is remarkably similar to an Ip5/7; coincidence or intentional? "More than an hour of high-quality footage" Skydiver's currently make do (and are quite happy, I think) with 1-1.5 hour tapes so time doesn't appear to be an issue here and I think the 640x480 refers to the screen, not the actual format of the recording so quality remains to be seen. Is MPEG4 the same compression used in Sony MicroMV cameras. There is some discussion as to the quality of this format? The biggest question is, will a hard disk hold up to the rigours of freefall? Let alone walking down the street. But you are right, good progress!

At what point is it failing? When you hit the "Connect" button in the "Receive Data" dialog are you getting the "The communication port has been successfully opened. Waiting for data"? If not, as BadDog said, you may have a process that is holding that COM port that you may need to kill first. Is it occuring in the transfer stage? The positioning of the ProTrack in the cradle can be quite precise sometimes. Place the unit in the cradle and hold it so that you have a couple of fingers either side to make sure the edges are perfectly aligned. If they are, then try offsetting slightly. Keep trying, it should work. It's a bit of a pain because you have to wait for all 16k to be transferred but I've had experience of quite a few cradles and whilst some have been difficult I've not seen one that never worked. Perhaps it is the diode on the ProTrack? The CCD in Sony cameras is sensitive to IR, moreso when in NightShot mode. Initiate the data transfer with the unit out of the cradle and look at the diode through the viewfinder of a Sony camcorder. Can you see the flashing? Alternatively, do you know of anyone else with an interface that you can test on your machine. Finally, I use 8-N-1:19200.

Espace 2000 boogie video - what the hell?
cpoxon replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No, actually, it was terminal! Buuuuut, they cheated. Using a Paratec Next tandem an experienced skydiver wore the passenger harness back to front under his own rig so that he could be clipped face-to-face with the Tandem Instructor. After some drogue-fall the tandem parachute was deployed normally. Mr. Bill then unclips and climbs up onto Sluggo's shoulders where they flew around for a while before jumping off and deploying his own parachute. There's a picture on the Paratec website. As I remember, it went down very well in the bar that evening on the daily edit! -
Not sure it has and they weren't requested to be. I think they just appear darker through the light colour of the wings with the light sky behind. I'll check this evening

Found this picture from when I did a BirdMan jump with my GTi from a Bell Jet Ranger (12th of May last year, jump number 667, damn, that would have been a cool jump number 666)
