PF Tracking Suit Demos at Eloy during Boogie !!
cpoxon replied to basehoundsam's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I'll be there with Montgomery Burns' Phoenix Fly tracking suit too and look forward to seeing how they perform alongside others (although my tracking is so crap I was going to take them on a normal tracking dive!). These suits are pretty new and primarily for the BASE environment, has there been much in the way of "big-way" PF tracking dives? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live -
That's what I said! ;-) Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Well, we are going to arrive too late to jump, aren't we?! Getting drunk at altitude in a dry atmosphere...ouch. Still, it is Christmas! Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Sorry Dave, not ignoring you, just trying to herd a few cats, aren't I Darren? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Do I need to bring my demo fleet with me? Not sure if I'll be able to yet due to baggage restrictions (may be some, may be none). Although there are about 30 Brits flying to Eloy from Heathrow on Christmas day and I'm sure I could find at least one person to take a suit each for me. How many suits does the school at Eloy have? Who do I need to contact to discus this with? The more extreme sized suits I have tend to be on the large size rather than the small size, so I won't be able to help out the small people too much. No, that's why I asked! You say you were aware that the rope was under high tension; how did you envision it would be secured at the top, free from the building? I'm not a climber; is it common practice to have a knife when climbing? In my country, being caught with a knife would be treated more seriously than a BASE jump! Nicholas Alkemade's grandson, Luke, is currently appearing in the Channel 4 programme, Bomber Crew, in the UK, where, "five grandchildren of bomber veterans are put through authentic training, to form the crew of a genuine World War II aircraft." I've been in the tunnel in Genting, but I've not been in any other so I have no basis for comparison. However, it is definitely functional for flat flying. We easily had 2 and 3-ways in there. I was heavier at the time (210 lbs) and wore a baggy suit but had no trouble popping up a long way. You can even freefly in there. See the attached picture of czechbase. As always, the tunnel rats are very adept at making full use of the tunnel. When we were there, there was a Japenese couple doing some "serious" training. The great thing aboutthe Malaysian tunnel is that because most of the people who use it are whuffos, the tunnel rats really look after the skydivers who come along. Also, check out this post. I'll be there (25th-4th). I won't solely be flying my wingsuit but I'll definitely be doing some flocking. Chuck will be organising, right? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

From http://www.newkerala.com/news-daily/news/features.php?action=fullnews&id=46655 That has got to be the best bit of whuffo press I've ever seen! They're not getting confused with a movie plot are they?! And what exactly is skidiving? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Oops! From http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds17278.html I remember a few years ago, a bit of fuss about allowing jumping through cloud in Australia. Found these authorisations on the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority for cloud jumping for the following dropzones: Paul's Parachuting, Sydney Skydivers and Skydive Nagambie but all of them exclude descents at locations other that specified. Some will. Mind you, even they got a bit aggitated when we leaned into the tunnel, through the door way, to take pictures with hand-held cameras! :-o Which once pointed out, seems reasonable Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

As far as I'm aware, there is only one serving member of the military on the Council and the same for next year as well. No voting this year, not enough candidates. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Congratulations! If you wouldn't mind, could you fill in your details on www.BASEnumbers.org? If not for me, then do it for Skin. He's getting all frothy about the big 1000! Edit: Derek, just noticed you put your completion date in the post on BLiNC so I've added your number to www.BASEnumbers.org myself. You'll get an error now if you try and enter your details, so if you want the extra stuff in there (date of first jump, age, order) then email or PM me. Please excuse my tardiness, but I'm now going to be attending the boogie so I've been reading this thread, although I don't think I'll be bringing the speed suit as Mark Calland has borrowed it. Besides, I don't think it fits me anymore! Might bring my Speedos though! Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Like most DZ in the UK, not without it's problems, but I think it's great. I live in north-west London and there are 8 dropzones that are closer to me, but Langar is the one I call home. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
