OK, So I've been watching the airfares steadily go up in price for the last 2 weeks. I am trying to figure out how I can come out for all the nig noggery. I just thin that $400+ for airfare from Atlanta is way too high. Any suggestions on bargain airfare?????? kwak Sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. I can honestly say that if the Instructors at my DZ were stiffs w/ such caution and no sense of humor I never would have made a second jump. I can alos add that when i bought my big Sis a tandem for her 37th b-day she was disappointed. Her TM was a total bore and spent most of the ride to alti offering half ass attempts at calming someone who was hoping to be messed with a bit. I gues it doesn't count for much considering the DZ in question does more tandems and FJstudnets than most any other in the country. The fact that the TM mentioned is not longer employed there probably doesn't mean much either kwak Sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. I weigh in at 135lbs standing 5'11". I have problems with fall rate too, but I have fun with it. I do alot of jumps working on fall rate. i will often times find a 2 or 4 way willing to let me chase them. I give a brief delay out the door before diving after them. Spend the first part of the jump diving like hell then the second half going up and down the "elevator" from a short distance almost like a camera flyer. i use them as a reference to work on fall rate and side slide etc. I did several coached/video jumps working on diving to formations and fall rate and theyu helped tons. I would mention that getting down to a formation can sometimes be easier than staying down w/ it. I still have problems with starting to float up as i approach a formation form an even plane. Seems like verytime I put my legs out for forward motion up I go. I compnesate by bringing my arms and elbows in. Almost like touching your elbows together on your chest. CAT-5 Category 5 wire. Data wire friendly to high speed networks and data transfer. Very common in houses these days for telephone & dataport wiring. Sounds like a great product you guys have. Any efforts to demo it to DZOs for approval? This would surely help sales. I would buy one today if I knew that my DZO would allow it. I won't spill out my resume for ya, but I currently work as Job supervisor for a custom home builder, I have quite a bit of experience in most all aspects of construction. I would be gald to offer any help I can. As with any project whether it be a small add on or a whole new house, your first goal should be establishing a budget. Do NOT try to figure out how much it will cost and then decide if you can afford it. Always determine what you can afford in cash, sweat, favors and credit (in that order) first. You also want to make sure that what you are hoping to do with the building is legal. In many places adding a separate structure that can be inhabitated i.e. a guest house, requires special zoning. You are adding a possible second residence and therefore your property/land becomes "multi-family". You might be fine in your area though. In any event you will need building permits and inspections. If you live inan area where you think you can get away w/o these or if it is more a renovation than a conversion you may sneak it past. One thing to be aware of if you do not permit the job is that if is not done to suit local building code it can and will bite you in the ass if you ever plan to sell. It is my understanding that airlines insurance policies are not so favorable for lost or stolen luggage. Last i knew airlines only pay by weight, i.e. $x amount per pound for luggage. I seriously doubt their per pound rate will cover the cost of replacing your rig. Therefore I would never check anything of value. kwak Sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. His windows were very dark tinted and he swears he NEVER saw me til I hit him. The concealed weapons permit is not too difficult to get here in GA. The other clearances you'll need should be repeats of the steps you have to take to get the first permit. So things finally started to slow down at work, just giving me time to breathe. I take advantage of the situation and get an extra hour or 2 of sleep. Heading to work around 9:30am and some yoyo pulls out in front of me. A cement truck I had been following moved over to the right turn lane to turn into a subdivision. As I passed (staying in my lane) a little Mitsubishi Eclipse appears in front of me from nowhere. He was turning left and I guess didn't think that there was another lane of traffic beyond the turning cement truck. Needless to say my big Dodge Pickup creamed his poor little go-cart. He had the car all tricked out with custom paint, wheels, exhaust, lights etc. He said he only had liability insurance. Poor schmuck his car is totaled, I mean completely screwed. The entire front end/engine wqas moved sideways by a foot. My truck has fairly severe damage to the front right bumper, but not totaled I don't think. He had no dispute w/ the cops and admitted being at fault. His insurance company had me in a rental truck w/in 4 hours. Good thing it has unlimited mileage cuz I'm heading to the DZ this weekend come hell or high water. I was a lil freaked out cuz I have had some bad accidents in the past and have really changed my way of driving recently. I am very careful these days, but there was nothing I could do in this instance. I was wearing a seatbelt, but for some odd reason my airbag did not deploy. Of course I was only 2 miles from home as the stats say I should have been. I so damn glad I'm not hurt and the other guy is very lucky. If he had been a few feet further out in the road I would have t-boned him right in the driver door, OUCH! The funnest part of it all was getting put on hold by the machine that answered 911 when I called. Then we waited 20 minutes til a passing Sherrif's office car stopped and directed traffic, plus another 25 minutes til the police and wrecker showed up. 45 minutes for police assistance? that's just nuts if ask me. kwak Sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. My mother's side of the family is small and perhaps a lil more close nit. We see each other bi-yearly for Thanksgiving. We always rent adjacent beach houses for the week and everyone shows up. My real father's side of the family is HUGE and I have been distant from them for quite some time. My sisters who live near some of them have regular contact w/ them though. They might actually make it for a wedding or a funeral involving me or my bro, but that's about it. I am grateful to live near my Mother as we are very close, yep a Mama's boy here. My stepfather grew up as an orphan never had any real family so that makes it simple in some ways, much more peaceful around the holidays. kwak Sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield.
