I just found out this morning that if you have a passport of a nation that's in the European Union, it's like having passports to all 27 countries within the European Union... I could work and live in any of them; not to mention have citizens rights. I think I'll broaden my job search... I've been doing a lot of thinking - and have come to the conclusion that with the rising gas prices I've got to put in EVERYTHING I have, and then some with regard to getting my license this season. Right now, the $25-jump package costs $2,400 here...if gas doubles to $8.00/gallon like it's projected to that price will obviously double. If I have too, I'll travel somewhere to get it done over the winter if necessary; although it would suck if I couldn't learn at my home DZ... Well, the last few books I read were Black Like Me, Savage Inequalities...and I've been meaning to get through Children of the Matrix. As far as what I like to read - anything really. I like going out of my comfort zone and learning something I knew no idea about; expanding intellectually in general. Philosophy with a modern spin, or something about what makes [the hunan mind] us tick is cool too. Or maybe I should start reading the SIM. Seriously - I've been meaning to order 1, and think I'll finally do it tomorrow. Feeling Good, Fitness Updates June 6th - 12th! Post up!
RALFFERS replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
O.k. - a bit of a more detailed update... My upper body (abs) is doing alright; depending on the machine I'm on I can generally do 3 sets of 50 reps - lifting 30 lbs. I do this on 4 different machines in a row. I also do 3 sets of 50 crunches. My shoulders seem to be the strongest - 3 sets of 75 reps, at 60 lbs. While arm curs are currently 3 sets of 50, at 50 lbs. Same goes for my upper back, but lower back I'm up to 75 lbs, with 3 sets of 75 reps. As for leg strength - it really depends on the machine/exercise. Seated calve press; I can do 3 sets of 50 reps at 90 lbs. Upper leg seated press is 3 sets of 50 reps, at 40 lbs. Leg curls are the hardest by far, and nothing to right home about... - 3 sets of 10 reps, at 20 lbs. That's my entire work out. Maybe it;s not the best in the world, and I'm not where I wanna be yet..but making progress. I'm feeling content with the results thus far; hopefully, improvement will show through in the tunnel... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREA!! I wish you all the best!

I don't see any "shortage" like there was in the 70s if you are old enough to remember that. Hell I can buy all the petrol I want as long as I can pay for it. There isn't any shortage. That's what I meant - as far as I know there is no shortage. Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

Really?... I thought the oil crisis was not so much due to the fact there's a [supposed] shortage, but rather because there haven't been any new rifineries built in 30+ years. We've all heard the phrase: "it'll get worse before it gets better." I was just watching the news again this morning & they were saying that now, by the end of 2009 a barrel of oil will cost $250.00!!... That means that if we're paying $4.00/gallon and our friends across the pond are paying $8.00 it'll be double that. Jesus CHRIST! I hope the the economists are wrong - they have been in the past - unfortunately it was in regards to the fact that we'd top out at $130.00 per barrel; and were now at $138.00+. Good to know, thanks for the heads up; I'll be down there for the winter again this year. Think I'll just apply this as a rule of thumb, no matter where I am. Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of -

I got this in an e-mail this morning, & honestly, I thought it was bullshit - but according to the Illinois state police website "Scott's Law" is legit. Here's the e-mail: News to me... I drive all over the place on the expressway; especially I-88, where apparently the subject of the e-mail got pulled over; I drove past 2 sets of cops and didn't get stopped... Lucky I guess (as usual.) Edited to add: The original PDF document is too large - I saved it as plain text. Attached. I don't know how this works, but it seems that if I take around 2 days off in the gym & then check my progression (arch) it's a lot better than, say, if I worked out every single day. I just checked it now, & MY GOD - I'm really just seeing continued improvement! Although, I feel guilty about taking 1 or 2 days off because I feel like I'm wasting/losing time (& I don't have much of it left. Really though - I feel the stretch & see myself lifting off the ground nicely. The 1 thing that concerns me a bit (that I honestly didn't think would be an issue) is that, when in an arched position my arms, of all things tighten up a bit; moreso when I reach for where the BOC would be Granted, I am putting significant strain on my body, but should I worry about this? It would be a good thing to mention when I'm at the DZ later on today... O.k. - um, well - I ate some sandwiches & some Chinese food... Don't ask me about yesterday though, I can't remember that far - I did eat something; at least once. Um, I just got back from the gym; is it safe to have the protein shake that's been siting in my fridge for like 4 days?
