You've got to be KIDDING me!... The last time I was at the movies wasn't too long ago ("Horton Hears a Who") - maybe the price has gone up; hopefully not that much though. I'll echo what some others have said here... If the movie has an underlying message that's great - people need to be intellectually provoked/stimulated; and since many don't pick up a book it's good that movies have taken on some kind of initiative to get a point across with regard to various topics. Furthermore, being fat is not some freak accident, it's a indirect choice byway of lifestyle; change in diet equals better health - it's really that simple. Yes, there are some medical conditions which result in a person being overweight - BUT - such cases are few & far between in the grand scheme of things. There's an abundance of McDonald's, Burger King's, KPC's, as well as countless other fast-food places; coincidently, this also the cheapest type of food that's available. The end result is whole families being raised on this garbage; you don't have to look far to see it every day. All it takes is making healthier choices by home-cooking more often and a little bit of exercise and there would be a world of difference. It's not hard... The other part of the problem is that we are bombarded by pills for everything. Depression, weight loss, dietbites, alcoholism heart problems -you name it, there's a pill for it. Now, I'm not negating that some medical problems, such as those affecting one's heart should be treated with prescribed medications; however, all medications have side-effects; particularly weight gain. Furthermore, even the more serious ailments can be avoided altogether thus eliminating the need for medications - by - you guessed it - a healthier lifestyle. No magic pill will ever measure up as an adequate substitute. In fact, take note of how many such commercials are aired in the next commercial break... Point is, sometimes people need to take a good look in the mirror, and if you're offended - well - maybe you should be. If I see someone that's overweight I wont laugh, however, if I see said person chowing down a #3 from McDonald's with a bag of Doritos and a soda I wont have any sympathy. Edited to add: Damn, now I can't decide which to see 1st - "Wall-E" or "Get Smart." Edited again to add: Yes, it's silly to be offended by a movie......but makes you think - why are people offended ? Hmm... Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

I think I know Bob (if we're talking about the same one) wears glasses, kinda bald, balding; looks to be in his 50's, and used to be a cop or in the marines, right?... I met him a few times - very cool, laid back guy. I think he jumps at SDC regularly, but I have seen him at CSC a time or 2. Yep, my avitar is from CSC... I don't mind waiting at all - it'll give me more time to watch the video a few times over and have everything down - at least in theory. Thanks for the offer too! As for my "limitations" (I guess) - I walk with crutches; rendering it impossible for me to pro-pack because of having to walk the lines, flake the canopy while over the shoulder while standing, etc, etc... PM me when you know when you'll be coming. Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

Finally - I got a hold of a VCR and was able to watch the packing video someone was generous enough to lend me. Flat-packing (my method of choice) seems simple enough and I am confident I could become proficient with it in time. However, I need suggestions in 1 aspect of it (it is a necessity regardless of the method) - walking the lines... Anyone got ideas? Not only do I want to not be dependent on a packer, but more than that - I have a genuine desire to know gear. I know there are others (even on these forums) that pack and can't walk their lines because of likewise having physical limitations; therefore I know it can be done. I need to watch that tape a few more times; also, hopefully I can get some practice in as well. It's a bad idea to give legal advice when you don't know what you're talking about. Did you hear the one about the breastfeeding mother who was sentenced to a night in the clink for failure to appear? Probably not. There was enough public and political pressure exerted on the judge that he ended up letting her off the hook, but it's a bad idea to tell people that this is not an action (a criminal action, no less) that isn't prosecuted, because it is. There are a number of reported incidents; Google is your friend. 1) Please note the very first word that I wrote. It was "MOST". That means that I recognize that what I said doesn't apply to ALL courts, and that there are SOME courts that do prosecute. 2) How would you know that I don't know what I'm talking about? 3) Yes, I did hear about the breast-feeding mom, so you're "probably not" comment was incorrect. 4) Please try not to jump to so many unfounded conclusions. 5) But hey, if you know so much about the law, how come you didn't offer him any advice of your own? All I see you doing is criticizing what others are saying. My very first post in this thread was an instruction to the OP about how he should handle the matter. And I know you don't know what you're talking about because you have given advice that could cause one who heeds it to be fined or serve jail time. This is evidenced by the fact that there are many people who have been fined or served jail time because they did exactly what you advised. Funny... Another poster just started a thread about "that guy" stories "some guy on the internet told me_________...." Jim, I'm SO sorry for your loss - he was a beautiful dog and a wonderful companion I'm sure... I've come to acknowledge that, whether animal or a person, death royally sucks - that and old age didn't pan out too well. My dog is like family too; animals are really special. Mark, I see what you're saying and very much agree... I just called, just to be on the safe side (I never had jury duty before - much less never hooky with it.) The lady from the office of Jury administration told me the dates of the I missed, the 2nd that I rescheduled...and the 3rd, that apparently came in March (I really never received that 1.) Anyway, she told me not to worry; looks like the "contempt of court" thing really is just a threat. Alright - so here's the scoop... I had Jury duty a few months ago, but like a putz, I forgot about it and thus did not go to the 1st court date. AS a result I got a 2nd notice in the mail a month or 2 later - it stated clearly that if I didn't show up this time I would be found in contempt of court. However, for whatever reason (I don't remember) I couldn't go to that 1 either...so I called the # provided to reschedule. I spoke with the lady, told her the whole story and asked like 3-5 times if she was SURE I could reschedule this 2nd date without being charged with contempt of court - she said yes. I was granted a 3 month extension and told a 3rd notice in the mail. Well, 3 months came & went; I still have yet to receive the letter. What [if anything] should I do?... Isn't contempt of court a felony or something? Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of
