Happy birthday, Karen!

You're lucky [I think} for not being charged with something yourself by lying and in fact having the knife in your possession. Glad it worked out.

Why is it that when I saw the tittle of this thread I thought to myself: that guy just CAN"T stop dating crazy chicks!..." On a serious note - glad you're ok man... I'll have to agree with the 1st poster though; strip clubs are shadey places to say the least...and...if I can't take her home I don't want to look. Be safe! You've GOT to be kidding!!! It's really heart-breaking to think someone has no family or friends that love and care for them. Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

The Americans with Disabilities Act requires employers, businesses, etc. to make reasonable accomodations for people with disabilities, even where the disabilities are temporary. You definitely want to look into that. The ADA may "require" that an employer or university make reasonable accommodations, but in reality - "equal opportunity" whatever only amounts to a nice-sounding slogan that doesn't mean shit. Universities are more likely to adhere to the law in this respect; but as evident from what Moodyskydiver went through - even they have to be pressed. Sorry, life experience talking... To the OP: I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. You WILL come out the other side though! Chin up!!... -
blood alcohol content? 1.31. Um, you'd be dead if that was your BAC. Not at all. Many people are able to have 3-4x the legal limit and wake up the next morning just fine. Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

True - but, you have to cause an accident for those kind of charges to be brought upon. Hopefully, he wont go doing it again, in which case the end result is actually good. We all make mistakes. You're getting off light. They should have charged you with attempted murder. How do you figure that? He didn't say he was involved in an accident; just got pulled over. I'm sure a hard lesson was learned, and most importantly - no one got hurt. So last night I had this dream... I was on a commercial flight - when all of a sudden something goes wrong...before you know it, a select few were throwing jump suits & rigs on and getting ready to bail out - while others were putting on scuba diving equipment on. Still other people were just siting in their seats, and it looked like they were just gonna go down with the plane. My only question is... WHAT THE HELL WAS I DOING IN THE DOOR IN A TANDEM HARNESS????????????!! Edited, so I don't use up much bandwith... What are the laws regarding DUI over there? Hope you learned your lesson. Sorry, Chris - not cutting you any slack for this 1, as it is something that's totally unnecessary and preventable. I know the 1st 1, but who is Shanya Richardson? That Lutz video ticks me off to no end!!! I can't describe the amount nor magnitude of anger that evokes in me because of people who CLEARLY screw up and then blame the sport... As if we don't already have a enough flack to deal with... Yeah, I don't jump yet, but that will soon change and nonetheless, skydiving is very special to me. to the OP: CONGRATULATIONS!!

Ok, there a bunch of you on here; more stories need to be posted - I'm getting a week's worth of laughter reading this thread! Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of -
That reminds me... I was chilling at the DZ this weekend, and it ended up being a very early night; everyone had gone to bed, while I stayed by myself to finish my drink. Anyway, I felt kinda bad having to walk across the entire field back to the tents; during the day my crutches don't make a lot of noise because of everything else going on - but at night, all you hear is "clunk clunk clunk - echo - click click click." I felt like Robocop... Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

I don't know about fatal flaw, but the system is flawed to a degree. As often is the case, the idea and intension are good - that just hasn't been the result when put into practice. Since some countries in Europe have far less jobs than others it was thought the issue could be solved by opening up the boarders; the problem begins when people heavily flock to 1 or 2 countries - that is the case with England and Ireland for example. I was in Poland about 3 years ago, on vacation, and at the time very low prices were being advertised for airfare across the entire EU; but if you read the fine print, it stated *excluding England*. That should tell you something... I have never worked anywhere but the U.S. - and although I was born in Poland, this is home, and has been for 22 of my 27 years.; I see myself staying here. I wasn't really being serious in posting this thread; it was more of a "fun fact." It is because I have never worked anywhere else that I can't comment on employee rights, but I'll take your word for it - somehow I see preferential treatment being the case in some places overseas. Whereas here - provided you're legal and can prove it you get the same rights as everyone else. The only thing I can think of is "affirmative action" - it's a law that basically states that if 2 people apply for the same job, with 1 individual being a minority but both have exactly the same experience and education - the minority is more likely to be hired. I don't agree with this at all; again, I understand the reasons behind it in theory, but in practice it does a lot more harm than good. In affect, in favoring a minority group to remedy years of racism and discrimination all that's happened is the tables are turned; this is obviously no solution, but rather a continuation of an age-old problem... Having said all that - the economy is in such a horrendous state that anybody and their mama' is struggling to find work.
