We are back to "Does the end justify the means?". Also if Skyride didn’t have over 900 Websites for DZs that do not exist, When the Customer went looking for somewhere to make their first Jump they would have FOUND a real Dropzone. They are NOT bringing people to the sport that would not have found a DZ anyway. But they are costing us Jumpers because of their deceitful tactics. Almost all the Skyride Victims were LOOKING for a dropzone, They found a Skyride site and called them (Usually thinking they were calling a Local Dropzone). If Skyride didn’t have all those sites for Fake Dropzones, They would have found the real dropzones instead.

Skyride has over 900 web pages for dropzones that do not really exist. The WebPages are designed to make people think they are booking a skydive at a local dropzone. Once the customer call the number (Usually a Local Number that is routed to the Skyride call center.. where they answer "Skydive center") The customer is fooled into thinking they are booking a Jump at a Local or nearby Dropzone. Once the Skyride operator has their credit card info and runs the NON_REFUNDABLE purchase, they are then told where they will be jumping. Many times it is 100`s of miles away. If the customer asks about a closer Drop zone that is not a Skyride affiliate, They are told lies such as "That dropzone had 6 fatalities last year and they are not safe" or other such Lie. Other times they will tell the customer that the local DZ does take their certificates. The customer buys the certificate and then finds out once they show up that the local DZ does NOT in fact take the certificates. No-Refunds is their Strict policy. A perfect example of what Skyride does was brought up in another thread. A customer in Spokane finds the web site for Spokane Skydiving and call. Buys her husband a Tandem. They show up at the only DZ near Spokane only to find that that DZ does not take Skyride. The nearest affiliate is 400 miles away. They can drive many hours away to make their jump or just take the loss (Costs about the same when you factor in gas). Also when the DZO of the Tullahoma DZ died in a skydiving accident, Skyride called AT&T pretending to be the Dead DZO and had their 1-800 number rerouted to their Offices. Their 100`s of websites are also full of lies and false information, not only do no such dtopzones exist but even the photos on the sites are stolen from other Skydivers. When the USPA had enough of thier deceptive practices and kicked them out, they filed a $10,000,000 lawsuit against the USPA.

Black and White TV`s. Monochrome Monitors. Reel to Reel Tape Machines. Answering machines that had 2 cassette tapes (one for Outgoing message and one for incoming) TV`s that you had to get off your ass to change the Channel or Volume. Storing Data on a cassette recorder. A Modem that you Pushed the Phone handset into. A Slide Rule

Those DZ`s were built from the same business model. Skyride grew out of ASC. The business model that Skyride is based on was developed at ASC. In the late 90`s ASC had fake websites going far away as Mississippi and other distant states to draw people to their Dropzone. When people called in thinking they were calling a Dropzone relatively near by, after the non-refundable credit card info was taken, they were given directions to ASC. They were so successful with this business model that they took it nationwide and started Skyride. While they may be separate entities on paper, I think a competent attorney will be able to show that they all really one and the same. This will all play out in court over the next year or so. The Georgia State Attorney General is already starting to take action against Skyride for their Fraudulent Practices, Several other States are doing their own investigations. The fact that the USPA wants nothing to with the owners of this company or any other company they own is completely justified.

The difference here was that the scum I mean Klan went through legal channels to have their march and obtained the permits. Freedom of Speech required those permits be granted. If they had gone into a Black Church or other gathering and started spewing their filth (Disrupting the assembly) they would have been arrested.

I am far from a legal expert, But my Opinion is that you loose the right to free speach when it Disrupts the event that people are gathered for. Want to protest the Umps? Have you own event where you can be loud as you want.

No. But most of your DZO`s seem to have some integrity issues (the ones that know what Skyride is about and still choose to do business with them). They have no problem accepting Skyride and their unethical business practices as long as it makes money for them. I realize the California Jumpers dont have much choice as most DZ`s there are skyride affiliates. In California I think the most we can realistically expect is that Jumpers will try to talk to their DZO`s about what Skyride is doing to our sport.

You could, But you would lose. Free Speech has limitations. My first job ever was as a little league Umpire. At 14 I was paid $3 a game for minor league (under 10yo) and $4 a game for major league (10 to 12yo). At almost every game I had to have the security guys escort at least one parent from the game for exactly that reason. We had a zero tolerance policy for parents that yelled at the umps.

I am still looking for a few people to step up help with this list. Right now I am still getting alot PM`s about one or Two Dropzones at a time. That is much appreciated but it would be much better if people that are concerned about this problem and would like to do something about it would take a few minutes and CALL EVERY DZ IN YOUR STATE and ask them if they take Skyride and send me the answers. I would really like to see the answers for North Carolina. Texas. California is not yet complete. Florida is far from complete And any other states that haven’t even been started yet. I am also considering going back and amending the list with the NAMES of the DZO`s that take Skyride. This is going to be a group effort and I would appreciate any help that I can get.

So we should just turn a blind eye to fraud and deception because it helps us get bigger and better planes? I know many that would agree with that statement. Personally, I choose not to do that and encourage others to do the same. Another reason that Perris should be targeted is that the Owner stood up at a meeting of DZO`s and proclaimed that they would NEVER take another Skyride certificate. That announcement was met with cheers and a standing ovation from the other DZO`s. Shame on Perris backing away from that statement. Perris is a leader in this sport. One of the finest DZ`s anywhere in the world. Many jumpers are very disheartened to hear they are still in bed with Skyride. Eloy chose not only to not work with skyride , but has spent tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees to fight Skyride and their fraudulent websites. The USPA is now spending OUR dues to fight Skyride in a legal battle because Skyride is suing the USPA. This costs all of us money. We talk alot about this sport being self-policed. If there are things that unethical and possibly illegal going on in our sport, Shouldn’t we stand up and do a little self-policing here?

Some of us dont like hair in the food. A little is ok but Big hairy bushes just seem nasty. If I need a machete and weed eater just to find it, I probably dont want it.
