The USPA does NOT certify Dropzones. They do have Group Membership program that most DZ`s choose to join. This means they pay a small fee (I have heard $400 per year but am not certain of that figure) and sign a "Pledge" that they will follow certain guidelines or rules (From what I have seen over the years, This pledge is not enforced. Especially the code of conduct). Basically, The USPA Group Member Logo means they wrote a check and nothing more. As long as your instructors hold the appropriate USPA Ratings and follows the USPA SIM, You can earn your USPA A License.

Toothbrush, Deodorant, Clean Socks, Extra pair of Shoes (Warm, Dry Feet are Important), Sleeping Bag, Cash. And above all.. Dont forget your Towel. A Towel is perhaps the most useful item in the universe. You can Ball it up and use it for a Pillow, Spread it across you and use it as a Blanket, Lay it on the ground when you and that special new friend want to Lay out in the middle of the landing area and watch the stars, Twirl it up and use it as a weapon, and if you are one of those rare people that actually shower during a Boogie, You can dry off with it. Try this: 200,000,000 Licensed Drivers. 40,000 of them will Die every year on average in auto accidents. 35,000 Licensed Skydivers. 30 of them will die every year on average. Sounds like driving is a HELL of a lot safer to me. This argument has been beat to death in other threads. Stats can be twisted to show whatever you want them to show. If anyone really believes that skydiving is safer than Driving, Please let me know if it looks like we will be on the same load so that I can scratch off because I really try to avoid being in the air with people that lack basic common sense. Edit: also please note that the only people you will usually hear making the foolish argument that Skydiving is safer than Driving are generally people with less than 100 jumps and relatively short time in the sport.

Turtle.. This is an Excellent Idea. I am sure that most women on here know by now that we never really look at their faces.. So the best way for them to be recognized is for them to post a picture of what we will be staring at anyway. Ladies.. If you are going to Skyfest and would like to meet some fellow DZ.comers, Please post an a pic of your breasts so that we can recognize you. Bikini Tops and/or topless would work best as I can assure you that no matter what you do wear, That is the way we will be imagining them as we talk to your chest. Help us know who we will be talking to.

This sport is NOT for everyone. Simple as that. Nothing wrong with those that do not want to Jump (In fact there may actually more likely be something wrong with those that DO want to jump). There are lots of things that I have never tried and have no desire to try. I am sure that is true for most people and for a lot of those people this includes Skydiving. Oh and forget about that whole Driving is more dangerous than Skydiving Crap. That is a load of bullshit. Almost everyone I ever met either drives and/or ride in a car. In my lifetime I have only known 5 people that died in car wrecks. I lost that many friends in skydiving in a year. Skydiving is MUCH more dangerous than Driving, Dont ever forget that.

The only Proper way to handle this situation is GROUPS. It gets way too tiring trying to run around and sleep with each person you want to sleep with if you are only doing one at a time. Waaay too much hassle. Much easier to get everyone together and get it all done at one time. It is perfectly acceptable to assemble a different group on the second night. The first night is just sort of like auditions. Weed out the poor performers early. Extensive research in this field has lead me to discover that 6 to 8 is the ideal Number. More than that and it gets confusing.

If they come back to their senses, then they will give it to KLC who be will so thankful that she will come out and do the Star Spangled Banner Topless (GOD Bless America!!) Otherwise, I think that David Cook and his Army of "Cougars for Cook" will take the night. Well Below Average. I dont jump enough to stay current. Also I have never focused on anything at the DZ other than being safe and having fun. I view Skydiving as a recreation. Something I do to have a good time. It is not about how far I can push myself or can I be the very best there is. First and for most I want to be safe. I careful as hell who I jump with and who else will even be on the same load. I do a lot of Hop & Pops and rarely more then 3 or 4 ways when I do go to the top. I take a lot of grief from others because I don’t jump as much as I could and people take it personal when I will not jump with them but I am aware of my currency and skill level. I will not put myself or others in jeopardy if I can help it. I go to the DZ to blow off steam. Maybe make a jump or two and socialize with friends. For many people, That means I am not a REAL Skydiver. I am OK with that. I am not there to impress anyone but myself.

My Opinion: They threw her under the Bus. They want David vs David Final and even though David A pretty much SUCKED last night, They praised him and bashed Syesha and also gave her that Horrible song to do at the end. My Run Down: First Round: Judges Pick a song for them. David A - Paula picks a Billy Joel tune for him, He does alright with it. He is a one trick pony but he does his trick well. Syesha: Randy picks Alicia Keys song for her. She does it well. Looking great. Then Randy basically bashes his own song choice. David C - Simon picks "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" for him. He Knocks it out of the park. Sings it to/for his mother and shows why there is no question he should win. Second Round: Idols pick a song. Any song. David A picks some hip/hop song. Biggest disaster since Dread Boy Shot the Tambourine man. Middle Class suburban white kind from UTAH got no business EVER talking about his "Boo" on stage unless he is referring to Boo Boo the bear. He sucked.. Bad Sucked.. But the Judges still praise him for some dumb ass reason. (Simon atleast mentions something about a Chiwawa trying to be a Tiger or some non-sense) Now to my favorite of the night. Syesha doing Peggy Lee`s Fever. The Girl flat out nailed it. She put on a show and lets just say there was more then just two thumbs up when she was done. (Did I mention I starting to get a crush on this girl?) David C - Switchfoot - "Dare to Move". Not his best but still good. It was rushed as the judges said. Final Song: Producers pick a song. Here is where they make it crystal clear who they want in the final two. David A: Dan Fogelburg "Longer". Why would they pick that?? Because they knew David A needed some of the older crowds votes. He does it ok but as usual, No spark, Sounded just like everything else he has ever done. The Judges praise him as always. Syesha - I wonder if she ever even saw the Bus? The Bus was a song called Hit me up from the cartoon happyfeet. A very difficult, up tempo song that not right for her in every way imaginable. She got through it ok but she never had a chance with that song. David C – Areosmiths “I Don't Want to Miss a Thing”. He nailed it. The guy will make hits. He has it all right now. No question he should win in my mind. I just wish Syesha would have gotton a fair shake last night. I would love to see David C vs Syesha in the final but it just will not happen. Syesha will hopefully go on to broadway and live out her dream (After of course coming Atlanta and making a few Jumps at Skydive the Farm and falling madly in lust that really cool guy that makes the jello shots there, using him for just his body till he gets bored with her and then she goes back to new york) Hey.. If she gets her dream, I get mine!!.

Bob Barr is the sort of guy that everyone can find common ground on. They ALL hate him.. Left, Right, Centrist, Libertarian.. It doesn’t matter. He finds a way to piss off (and at the same time, Piss ON) EVERYONE. The Libertarian Philosophy is alot like Communism in one way. It sounds great till you actually try to apply it. Then you find it doesn’t work. The Party has some great ideas in principal however the extremist and nutcases have always had control and therefore never been able to make a real difference.

Sadly, This guy represented my District for several years. He is as Far from a Libertarian as you will ever see. In my mind he represented the absolute worst of the Republican ticket while in office. Yes, he supported the Patriot Act, He worked to stop any consideration of medical Marijuana, Led the war on drugs in Congress, Pushed legislation that said only marriages that are between a man and a woman can be federally recognized, Worked to push legislation to Ban practice of some religions for military personnel (Wicca and/or Paganism), Anti-abortion but talked his own wife into having one when he was about to leave her, Led the charge for the Clinton Impeachment in the Lewinski affair yet had numerous Affairs himself over the years. This guy is Hypocrite and lying scum bag in my opinion. He claims to have changed now and supports the Libertarian Values but I would not trust this guy at all on anything. It will be an absolute disgrace if the Libertarian Party allows this guy run as one of them. Nothing could be further from the truth. He does have alot of spport from Ultra Right Wing conservatives (The ones that really make the rest of us look bad). Him running will just give the Office to the Dems. He will tale alot of votes from McCain much like Perot did to Bush.

This thread says otherwise I agree MOST women do not have a problem with it but when you make the MISTAKE of opening a door for a the ones that do have an issue with it, Be ready to get chewed out. It has happened to me several times and is really sad when it does.

I worked with some Casinos down there for a while. Used to have to go every couple months. Costa Rica is GREAT. Pros: Very laid back Friendly people. They actually do not Hate Americans yet. Fairly reasonable prices. Mostly Safe place if you use your head. Lots to see and do. Cons: Be very careful if you drive there. The roads are not the best and they dont really have Traffic laws (And if they do, they are ignored completely.) What to do: Arenal Volcano - Plan an overnight trip where you can see the Volcano at night. It is very active and the show at night is great. Hot Springs - The Tourist Trap for Hot Springs is Tabacon. Beautiful Place with Fantastic Hot Springs but Loaded with Tourists and High Prices. Right down the road is a place called Baldi that is Just as nice, Much less expensive and fewer obnoxious, screaming Kids running around. Zip Lines - I like ones in San Lorenzo best. There are some Zip Lines closer to San Jose but not as Long and Scenic. Jaco - Amazing Black Sand beaches and good surf.
