the WFFC has its problems.. But most of the Negitive things you will hear about is from people that either Havent ever been there or used to go when it was still at Quincy. I have beenthe past three years and loved it. All the stuff you hear about waaaay too much traffic and people landing every which way are simply not true in my experience. (Again.. Only the past three years and Only at Rantoul) The real nay-sayers will go off about all the maddness that was at Quincy. I am sure most of this is true.. But Rantoul is a hell of a lot bigger with alot more landing area than Quincy and only 1/4 (or Less) of the Jumpers there. I took two low timers with me this year that were initially scared to go because of all the rumors thay had heard. Once we got there they both commented that there was less canopy traffic and confusion than at the other boogie they had been to. At no time did either of these jumpers feel threatened in any way by the canopy traffic or landing patterns. Anyone that comes on here saying how dangerous the convention is should be asked when was the last time they went. The convention is much smaller now at a much bigger place. In my limited experience, Rantoul is no more or less dangerous than any other LARGE Boogie. Is it safe?? Hell no it isnt. Skydiving isnt safe. But it is NOT the madhouse that many here would like to make it out to be. But Do watch out for Golf Carts. Those ARE really Dangerous!!

Depends on which Car. I have 4. Honda Accord... Take it in. Still under Bumper to bumper warranty. Let them handle maintenance so there are no questions if anything is ever needed. Conversion Van... Do it all myself. (Its Older (1993) and a shop or dealer would try to up sell me too many repairs if I took it in) 1971 340 Duster (Bracket Car)- Do it all myself. No one touches that engine but me. 1966 Belvedere - Do it all myself. Still working on the restoration. Will be a nice Weekend Cruiser when Done.

Bigway and the other were great. They were having a great time. No complaints at all. I would be more than happy to throw a party with those guys anytime. I know some pics will be up next week sometime when Dave gets back to the UK and he has time to upload them.

We had a blast hosting it. We moved the party to the main Party Tent.. Lots of people turned out in thier PJ`s.. Im sure pictures will show up sooner or later.. (I was too busy to take any). They own 3 dropzone that I know of. ASC - Atlanta Skydiving Center in Cedartown, GA (where it all started) Pell City, Alabama Pennridge, Pennsylvania.. Ben And Cary (Skyride Founders) started with Just ASC. ASC was known for having dozens of websites in the late 90`s for dropzones that didn’t really exist all over the southeast that would funnel tandems to ASC. They were also known for telling anyone that called they were only 20 minutes away no matter where they called from. It became a big Joke to Skydivers in the area to answer any question about how far something was to say 20 minutes away. Eventually Ben and Cary formed skyride and took this Idea nationwide. Almost ALL their websites are or were Fake. (They have changed many of them since the Lawsuits). There was a great expose` by a news station in Utah linked somewhere in this thread where they had a Site for Skydive Utah or something similar.. Sold someone Tandems and then they found out they didnt have any participating DZ`s anywhere remotely near Utah and then would not refund the money.

Agreed. But we are talking about HAIR here... Not Flat heads and Handlebar ears. I stand by my earlier statement. Short = Cute (Nothing wrong with cute) Long = Sexy (er) Very few women actually look better with short hair (yes, Beth.. you are one of the very few exceptions), However when any girl gets her hair cut, everyone will tell her how great she looks no matter what. I have never seen Gia with longer hair.. but in general, Longer hair is almost always sexier.

I understand exactly how it works. At that time (10 Years ago) I was living paycheck to Paycheck. Yes, I could have adjusted my with holding to compensate (w4 was single - 0, I could have changed it to Single - 1 but then risked owing money at the end of the year).. What happened was the raise was just enough to put me in next higher withholding bracket. Net result was $20 a week in less pay. Yes I would have gotten most of that back at the end of the year when I filed a return. At that time I didn’t feel like giving uncle Sam an interest free loan I couldn’t afford or optionally play with withholdings and risk owing money at the end of the year. Imagine the shock when you get a raise and get your paycheck and it is smaller. I did end up getting a bigger raise when I went to HR and showed them my past Pay Stubs compared to the new one with raise. They got a laugh out of it and pushed through a bigger raise for me. In todays world.. 3% is a cost of Living adjustment. Anything more is a Raise, anything less is a Pay cut.

About 10 years ago, I was still working hourly at a Manufacturing plant. Got a VERY small Raise that was just enough to bump me up to the next tax bracket. Net result was a about a $20 a week reduction in pay. I went back to HR and told them to PLEASE take thier raise back. I couldnt afford it.

I call Bullshit on that one!! I know a few women that can make you want to exit at 600 feet over broken glass at a a Salt factory if they let one rip at takeoff.
