I dont believe it is so much the Fabric (ZP vs F111) that people are commenting on as much as it is the shape and trim of the Canopy. A Sabre2 is considered a semi-elliptical canopy.

Back during the War of Northern Aggression (Civil war for you Yankees), General Sherman was making his March through the south. He gets to Stone Mountain Georgia and there is a Lone Rebel Standing on the top of a Hill Shouting Obscenities at General Sherman and his men. Sherman orders his best soldier to go up there and get rid of that Rebel. The soldier heads up the hill and a few minutes his lifeless body is tossed back down to Sherman’s feet. Sherman tell one of his captains to get up 10 of his best soldiers and go get that Rebel. A few Minutes later 10 dead soldiers come rolling down the hill. Finally Sherman says to his captain, Get me 100 men and get that Rebel. A Huge Battle rages for hours up on the hill. Finally the last of Sherman’s men manages to barely escape with his life.. Running down the hill, he screams to General Sherman.... It is a Trick!! There are Two of them!!

I personally think water in general is a bad idea. Fish fuck in that stuff. Yuck!! Only safe way drink water is to sanitize it with a little Alcohol.. Preferably Scotch. Then and only then is it safe to drink.

Lol!! One of the last Projects I worked on with my Father before he passed away was Designing and building Conveying and packaging systems for a "Crystal Springs" Water Bottling plant. I was totally shocked when I discovered that the Water they were bottling was being pumped straight of the Chattahoochee River in an industrial area of Atlanta (No way in Hell I would EVER drink water out of that river.) Yes, they filter and purify the hell out of it.. But after knowing where it came from, I could never bring myself to drink it again.

Skyride is fully aware of what a pain in the ass that is. They also contest chargebacks creating a huge hassle for thier victims. Many people get tired of fighting and give up after a while. This is what Skyride is counting on. These people are pure scam artists and theives.

There was ONE Dz.comer that used to NOT respond anytime the answer to the question I asked was negative. I called her out on it a few times. It would annoy me.. Then I think they did it even more when they realized how much it annoyed me, So I just quit communicating with them unless in person. Now if someone sends me a PM that is a Statement and not a question, I generally do not respond. Not being rude, just sometimes I have nothing to add.

By far the majority of skydiving accidents have NOTHING to do with irresponsible Dropzones. The ONLY person that was irresponsible in Teds accident was Ted. He was warned over and over again. He didnt listen, He died. Now he is an example to others that do not listen. The dropzone he happened to be at that day had nothing to do with his accident. The same exact out come would have happened wherever he happened to be. These "Fatality" numbers you want posted have very little to do with how safe a DZ is. The people dying in this sport are by far mostly very experienced Jumpers doing high performance landings. These people know the dangers involved in these maneuvers so your proposal accomplishes nothing but give misleading information to uneducated (in regards to skydiving) people. We would much rather tell them the Truth, Skydiving is Dangerous. You could Die. This is on the waiver and on the video they must watch. A dropzone with NO Fatalities in 5 years is Just as Dangerous as one with 3 fatalities in 5 years. You are clearly angry but no one here is making personal attacks against your nephew. They are stating fact. 1) He was warned (Repeatedly) 2) He didnt listen, 3) He died. You think there might be a lesson for others in there somewhere?

Ted was repeatedly told how dangerous his decisions to downsize was. This is well documented on this very site. He was talked too by many. It did no good. He thought he was “Ahead of the Curve”. He didn’t listen. He died. But using him as an Example for others that think they are also "ahead of the curve" when it comes to downsizing could possibly help save other lives. What do you really want accomplish?? Revenge on a sport that Ted loved or Try to save others that think like he did? Pointing out the threads where he was told he was getting ahead of his skills and the eventual outcome of that to others that think they too are bullet proof would have much more effect that a Sign that says out of X,000,000 Skydives last year X people died (The vast majority of which were VERY experienced jumpers under a fully functioning parachute that did something stupid). And if you were able to get a law passed, the VAST Majority of Dropzones (90% to 95% most likely) would be able to say NO Fatalities and NO serious accidents last year. That would actually give most people a false since of security. Skydiving IS dangerous no matter what the numbers say.

I beg to differ there. Read the title.. a SKYRIDE Dropzone coming to Pratville. Then the OP questioned the Validity of the of the information on the web page. False and misleading information on webpages is something that SKYRIDE is well known for. That is 100% credited to the "Owners" by most of the skydiving community. So actually this is more about the owners than the people that jump there.

First let me say I have never Jumped at or even Visited the Pell City DZ. I will say that the Staff and Jumpers that I have met FROM Pell City all seemed like great people. I would venture to guess that it is alot like ASC. Same thing there, I have never jumped there and never will but the Jumpers and Staff there are great people. I do visit that DZ from time to time because there are some people that really enjoy hanging out with. It does bother me to see how the Jumpers from those DZ`s are treated when they do venture off their home turf. How are they supposed to see how great it is everywhere else when they are met with open hostility anywhere they go because of where they started out at?? They become ostracized and dont bother leaving because at least no one is giving them shit at Home DZ. The Skyride DZ`s end up being almost a Cult, a Member of a Cult will rarely see how wrong their leaders are as long as they are stuck in that environment. If the Jumpers are welcomed with open arms at other DZ`s, Maybe they can get away long enough to see that Ripping off people, Lying to People, Stealing from people are wrong and the businesses that are doing this should not be supported. Again, I think there are some great people at ASC and Pell City but trying to discuss the Skyride issues with them is pointless and counter productive. They are way too close to the issue and will never see the problem until they get away. Until then it is just perceived as a personal attack on their home. Anyway, Just my 2 cents worth.
