    I've seen one bag lock in freefall next to (and under) me. It was one of my students on first freefall (SL progress). Problem was that he was tumbling and falling on his butt. When he deployed few lines went under his armpit, so this few lines were extracted normally (they were shorter than others in this situation), and other lines didn't have any pulling force on them. Now this few snaged lines were pulling canopy fabric out, and other slack lines were still stowed in closing stow. This resulted in bag lock malfunction. After cutaway RSL deployed reserve before student could reach silver. During bag lock and cutaway student was falling in stand-up position. We used normal (large dacron) rubber bands with single wrapped stowing. Band didn't brake !

    Eiff Classic 270 is best for me. You can sink vertically if needed for 15 seconds, and you can land almost everywhere.

    1800' (Low clouds). 6 of us were in C-207. 3 skydivers didn't want to jump and 3 (us) did. My friend who wanted to jump said "What is a problem? Not enough altitude? What alti do you want ? 3000' ?" And started to adjust altimeters to 3000' to 3 scared jumpers but they still didn't want to jump ?! So, us 3 jumped from 1800' (lots of pumping to open quickly) and we did 2 way canopy stack, and landed downwind (hard) with parafoils onto tuffet. Whole jump seamed like it lasted for 20 seconds,... I don't want to do it again !

    What do you think about hooking bungee cord between to high buildings. And jumping WS with some carbon ancor attached to your legs. Hooking bungee cord in mid flight ?! Buildings have to be enough high to safely deploy base canopy if you miss. It yould be doable I think and it would be similar to aircraft carier landing Robi, would you do it ?

    It is quite easy, first you mark place on brake line where you want to have cat eye, then you must cut a new piece of Dacron -> measure long cat eye loop should be and add 14 centimeters to it. Finally finger trap 7 cm from marked place up the line, leave Dacron parallel to brake line for length of cat eye, and finger trap 7 cm down the line. Bar tack 1 cm from insertion point. Good luck

    I have a same problem few times with brand new Radical 135 (similar to Katana) and line trim is perfect. After I am done with 180 I add another front and canopy sometimes starts "bucking" but this happens only if I am in turbulent air. I just drop front risers and flight is restored. So, make sure you are far from turbulence (obsticles).

    OMG, student not puting hands on his head, and afer 8 seconds opening reserve, after getting hand singnal to wait! Glad that they are all ok! We have 2 snap off cutters on jump plane, but I'll buy one more hook knife after seeing this video

    I really must to reply to this thread. So I've got my Atair Radical 135 3 weeks ago. I did about 10 jumps with it so far. I didn't have 1 bad landing, no running out, no sliding on my butt. All nice stand up landings,... Flare on Radical is great. Only difference is that during 90 deg. turn it eats up 200 feet of altitude. I even managed to do hop & pop and pulled from bad position, and canopy just did open in slow controled spin. No big deal! I belive that this canopy is fantastic. Thank you Stane for doing great job ! I don't know what was problem with my springo ? It is older design and it was out of trim,... However problem was with canopy not me Maybe I'll reline Springo and use it for ground launching.

    I was always in accurracy, simply because there are no "big ways" from C172 in my DZ This 304 is for my (heavy) friend Don't worry I am waiting for new Radical 135 from Stane to bring with me to Vrsar for big ways

    I had similar first flight. C207 and Skyflyer 3 without any instructor and coach. But Then I had more than 600 jumps.

    This is what I've heared : Be aware because moving cutter to side flap causes this flap to be stiffer, and this can lead to reserve pilot chute hesitation (PC would not pop becuse PC faric remains under this flap). This is what PDF Atom users expirienced already in France, and some jumpers had to elbow their reserve out !

    What I do is to measure free bag from closing loop hole to end of free bag and this is length for s-folding. Usually first fold is just under word "WARNING" on reserve label (I have icons S9 and S8, and smarts 220 and 250 for students). I use wooden packing sticks and molar strap to make it look nice. I also try to have more fabric from PC under bottom flap. And all icons after packing look really great.

    Did anyone see soft links done with no-sew fingertrap method ? They seam like easy thing to be done at home (if they have more than 3" between loops if not they could pass 3 or 4 times trough lines) ,... I plan to use spectra 1000 lb and to do 2 insertion points per fingertrap just like Jump Shack suggests. I would make 5 same soft links and one would be tested in pull test machine to see results. Is somebody interested in jumping them ? P.S. When relining do you have to create some tension on the line to correctly measure length of spectra 720?

    I did try it with cypres closing loop material and it worked great - I was able to hang on this loop from sealing. Can you do a canopy relining with this methods ? Has anyone tried it ? What about dacron, and vectran do they work as well ?
