  1. Hi all, I am describing another DIY project here in group (yes I am bragging ). It is Harness/Container project that is finished now. I have started it in January 2017, in spare time (mostly late in evening) as project while I was preparing for master rigger (Techniker). I wanted to make new, modern looking prototype, to learn even more about gear and to have solid design/platform if I have any new ideas that I could play with. Also, it was a good test to see if sewing machines that I have purchased and repaired are ready to do all of this tasks. It was built with only 3 machines (binding machine, zig-zag + straight machine and harness machine). I have built everything expect pilot chutes and reserve ripcord (this was borrowed). It was interesting, expirience. I know reserve looks funny as I have smaller reserve at home that would actually fit into H/C, and yes reserve pilot chute is close to the riser covers but it launches normally, even with this much smaller reserve. Here are the pictures (album should be public, so everyone should be able to see it). https://www.facebook.com/jerolim.duplancic/media_set?set=a.10208668150437697.1073741841.1128815054&type=3¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic¬if_id=1498330504913103 I was super carefull regarding harness strength and container snag-points. So, riggers, master riggers, what do you think ?
  2. Slider width must not be wider than center cell width. If this is true, you can try, but be ready for some toggle pumping (if needed), so open higher.
  3. How much hosting space do you need ? There are some free options out there ,...
  4. Please, if you have opportunity, test legstrap slippage with flip flop friction adapters (with ty-7 and ty-8).
  5. In my opinion, be careful with cutaway pillow placement. I would go with lower profile pillow. Here it looks like if deploying main could hit it and pull it, in that case you would have opening with instant cutaway.
  6. There are a lot of videos here https://vimeo.com/skydivetv
  7. And we want youtube videos !!!
  8. Troll is much thinner aerofoil (this is good as it will pressurize much faster) than Classic or Foil, so it requires faster airspeed and faster stalling speed. This is not great news for accuracy. But I am interested if anyone have tired OSP as slats would mean slower stall airspeed ;)
  9. I have Pfaff 438 it is best machine that I own. They cost around 1200 euros in Europe (I paid mine 450 euro). I had to change motor pulley, raise presser foot and to sharpen feeder. It can sew risers, toggles, legpads and canopy work looks solid too. It is like pfaff 138 or 238 but self oiler and little bit biger.
  10. Thank you for sharing, but I will complain a little,... you could put ruler from 0 mm point or it is in inches and upside down ?

  12. 1 cm for 10 cm of fingertaped portion ?
  13. Hi, Has anyone done (documented) sewing shrinkages for : - Legstraps - Risers - MLW - Lines (spectra, vectran, dacron, HMA). For example. 4 point box pattern (8 cm long, folded 3 times) for type VIII would be ?? millimeters. Or when building mini risers, different lengths of zigzags or bartacks would result in shrinkage of ?? millimeters. Also would be useful if someone has shrinkages for different bartacks for different line types, and shrinkages due to fignertraping length.
  14. I agree with you, I it is not nice to name names. My intention was to warn all riggers to check what they have got from mentioned supplier in order to stop any usage of substandard materials. P.s. Mine Type 8 purchased few months ago was ok.
  15. from what I saw on facebook rigger group Paragear is selling 1A instead 1 This afternoon I will check what I have got from Paragear few months ago,..
  16. I have jumped 4 x 6 meters flag http://arhiva.nacional.hr/img/e/7/e/e7e1e989a959a99cbeb2348238d84ad8_700x550.jpg Canopy was Classic 270. I have used 7,5 kilos of scuba weight (2,5 kg @ half point, and 5 kg at botom of flag). Most important is fabric of flag, it must be similar to ZP of F111. If it is similar to mesh (porous) it will create much more drag and this will not work. Make sure you try everyting on DZ before demo, and plan opening, so you can cutaway flag far away from crowd. Hope this helps.
  17. If you have old machine, you can spend more time adjusting it than actually working on it. That sucks when you have lot of work waiting and testing fabrics are very expensive,...
  18. I also would be thankful for old reserves for harvesting F-111 from end-cells .

  20. My appologies, I have just seen manual for ACE. ACE is very similar to boost system. It looked like it was mine device on bridle @2 minutes in ACE youtube video, but it is not. Sorry for reacting on this video. Mine design is simpler and cleaner
