:2:lots Thanks to low overcasts and continuous drizzle on friday and saturday I could only make my first jum p on sunday at noon. So only two jumps, but such jumps they were! 1)First jump at that particular DZ 2)First CReW jump 3)First decent exit from a caravan 5)First stack 6)First biplane 7)First stairstep 8)First dock (admittedly only because my coach *can* fly well ) Danny, thanks again for taking me up and for your patience! These were definitely my most brilliant jumps by a landslide! Embarassing for the Dutch nation as a whole. It bothers me incredibly that people treat their pets as if they were their children. Dogs are not human! Man's best friend, if you like - but if you want to have a beer with someone go to a fucking PUB and get a LIFE! Er, Sorry about that.. Rant over. Wuss Myself, I was actually rather disappointed when it turned out that we wouldn't have sausages for lunch when the lecture was over after all. Turned out the secretaries were having a bit of a laugh at our expense, but didn't want to get stuck with tons of uneaten sausage rolls (Dutch speakers: broodjes rookworst-van-de-Hema) "That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom

At my previous job, some pathologist had cut sections of a sausage, enlarged the microscopic image on a beamer and proceeded to give us a crash course in tissue histology and organ recognition. It was very instructive. Among other things we encountered bone, gristle, intestine, heart, liver, lung, urethra, muscle and in one case even a bit of stomach with still a bit of the pig's last meal in it. I try to try any food once provided it doesn't contain pinapple. The strangest thing to my Western mouth though, was donkey. It was surprisingly tender, and didn't taste quite like anything I've ever eaten before.
