Mostly... Mind if I ask why the stats of these individuals or whether they perform HP landings are relevant? I think we've (the skydiving communty at large) already determined that this IS NOT a swooper issue, but rather an issue with everyone under a canopy. In addition, I haven't a clue as to what their 'stats' do for this conversation either. Something, aside from a knee-jerk reaction, needs to be done and this is the closest thing I've seen to date... I liked being the guest more. On past jumps, I've actually climbed up and stood on the shoulders (my feet actually stepping on the insides of the risers and not on the actual shoulders...) of Sluggo, much like a CRW plane. When it was time to go, I just handed my pilot chute to Sluggo and asked him to 'hold this a sec...". Fun times, although the story should probably be told in the 'Stupid things I have done" thread. All this being said, even though I've done more than a few back in my day, I don't think I would do another (unless of course I attended an appropriate safety briefing before hand ). There is much that can go wrong, and I've seen my fair share of it; unintentional cutaways, reserve dumps (2-outs, although it wasn't referred to as such at the time), busted nose, hand injuries, muscle pulls in arms, etc... Whatever you decide, be safe and have fun.

I for one value his responses on the boards, and appreciate the knowledge and experiences he shares with us. Having said that... I'm sure he's like most folks that exhausted from answering the same question over and over again. Perhaps if you worded your question a bit differently you would have received a more relevant, or at least eloquant, response. For example, if you were to state that you've done a search, read the threads, and would like to know what AAD device others would purchase (if they were in the market for one) and why (given the various topics / points discussed in earlier threads)... you just might have read a response more to your liking. I myself am in the market for an AAD, and am weighing the pros/cons of each before I make a decision. This includes (hopefully) a bit more information pertaining the the recent Vigil posts as of late. Personally, I'm totally comfortable without one and currently don't have one installed. But... my DZ is going moving towards mandatory AAD come the first of the year and I can't really justify not having one. So far, I'm leaning towards a Vigil, but that's only due to the maintainence costs... Have a nice day.

I've done several Mr. Bill dives, playing both roles. The bigger the canopy the better as they tend to open a bit slower. Packing to open slower is good too. If you're really interested in a successful dive, then perhaps you can get your paws on a nice big student canopy for Sluggo... Randomly f'n thingies up since before I was born...
