  1. I'm going to agree with jkm2500 on this one. These trucks are notorious for having problems with their fuel pumps. The are easy to check with the right gauge. (it's just a pressure gauge that you plug in to the fuel line normally going into the throttle body or fuel rail) It's probably not a problem with a clogged fuel filter. If it was you would probably be complaining of a problem with the truck not able to go faster than some speed(say 70 mph). Though.. have you tried going really fast on the freeway to see if you can get to 90 or 100 in the truck? Do you people ever drive that fast in Texas? Or do you have to keep it slow to avoid all of the horse and buggies?
  2. I'd think it wil be a "he'd hit again" sort of thing unless the guy feels that the whole thing was bad and wrong, and decides himself to got therapy to change. ie. I think it will still be a problem unless the guy wants to change, and starts the process to change himself. Having been drunk and upset a few of times. I've never hit anyone. Even when drunk, I can still be in control of my fists. My mouth and penis... not so much.
  3. I grew up watching knight rider. I liked it as a 8 yr old as for the car getting away from bad guys, how exciting would the show be if car just sort of hit the gas and outran the chase cars, and said "ohh, we got away."? I remember going to universal studios with my parents when I was 8 or 9. They had kitt on display there, you could sit in it and talk to the car. I remember having a conversation with the car like: me - "you some guy in the back somewhere!" kitt - "I'm a intelligent computer." me - "nuhh ahhh" kitt - "you can see me on channel 7 every thursday at 8 pm pst" My parents thought it was quite funny. I did tune in that next thursday.... I was/am such a tool. :) Edited for spelling---
  4. Ohh, that's funny. Did you take this? Do you know where this place is?
  5. The remade this? No man, stop watching this TV thing. I know it's hard to give up. (VERY hard) but your life will be better for it. besides, look at all of the "new" shows. mostly full of "reality" shows, and there are a lot more commercials than there used to be.
  6. Really? $40K for a american car? wow. Well, I did also hear of somebody paying $36K for a toyota minivan. Mabey it's just me. I will probably not every buy a new car. I've had 4 cars throughout my life. and paid a grad total of $12,000 for the lot. And I'm not getting junky cars. It's amazing what people pay for what should be commodity stuff. You all realize that the car companies carge this much for the cars because people pay this much for it right?
  7. Sounds good to me. This topic seems to be a pretty hot one here. It seems that there has been a lot of jumping while pregnant. So in any of these events, were there injuries to the mothers or unborn children? Edited for spelling.
  8. Is this real? Am I missing a context or something? Were you going to a religious healer posing as a doctor or something? Oh, and just so I don't offend anyone. I'm not suggesting that religious healing is a load of bullshit. It's a pretty well know fact that it is.
  9. So, your saying it's okay for the gril to broadcast to the world what she did? What good came of her doing that sort of thing? She already took the car from her child. What harm can you prove came from it? Do you really think that kid hasn't had worse at school? I'm sorry, but the idea of treating kids like some sort of hothouse flower that's going to wilt at the first sign of adversity or criticism isn't doing them any favors. I don't remember the references to the exact psychological research papers that I used to study, but it comes down to this. Taking the car from the kid could be classified as discipline. Exposing her actions to the world opened up the door to the kid getting ridiculed by the world, by her, and by his peers. Revealing her actions to the world is thereby classified as punishment. Discipline and Punishment are to very different things. Official description of punishment/discipline http://cehd.umn.edu/ceed/publications/questionsaboutkids/discipline.htm See it comes down to the motivation of this mother. Her reaction is caused by her being very angry. She never stopped to think about what the problems really is. She's reacting with punishment. Not with actions to promote positive behavior in the future. Punishment might sometimes cause compliance, but will not cause rehabilitation. It's the same principal that keeps the recidivism rate in prisons up so high. To put it another way: What I'm getting at is that by making her actions public this lady is reacting in very spiteful sort of way. In that, she is showing her kid that this behavior is okay. If she keeps doing this, her son will start treating others the same way. Perhaps using the word “complex” in the context of the child's future behavior was to much.

  11. What's that? yeah.. Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing GameS I'm going to go feel like a nerd now. :)
  12. I was beginning to feel the same way about TV. I recently gave up TV almost completely. (I'll watch the new BSG when it comes out) I've replaced it with MMORPGS. (mainly WoW) I feel that i'm using my brain a bit more playing WoW than when I'm watching TV.
  13. Oh, okay. I misunderstood your post and thought that you were saying selling the car was an over reaction. Yeah, I completely agree with you on that one. . Ahh, well thanks for the agreement. Parents need to enforce their authority sometimes. And I like that we can have discussions on dz.com without degrading to slander quickly.
  14. [email] I respectfully disagree. The article made it very clear that when she purchased the car for her son, it was a part of the deal. You drink, you lose the car. The kid knew that before he even got in the driver's seat. With that deal in place, how was this an over reaction? He broke the rules, and having a car is not a right guaranteed to high school students... I'm not saying that it wasn't okay for her to take the car. I'm saying it wasn't okay for her to boast about it. From my previous post: I'm not saying it wasn't okay for her to take the car from the kid, I'm saying it was between her and the kid.
  15. I'm sure he learned that gross overreactions are a acceptable way to act. Care about the child and not about what they do and youe child will be a good one. This is clearly a example of care about what the child does, and make myself bigger with the kids actions. This lady was doing it mostly for attention. If it was really about what is best for the kid she wouldn't have boasted about her actions in the add. My parents took a few things from me to punish me. But the didn't run around telling others about their actions. the point of their actions was to teach me a positive lesson, not that it's okay to broadcast your power to the world. Treating your kid to all of the public humiliation is going to have one of two effects: 1. The kid is really humiliated, and feels a lot more awful about it than he should, giving him a complex, etc. 2. He gets angry and takes it out on others when he has the opportunity to exact his will on others. After all, this behavior is the way he's been taught to act. I'm not saying it wasn't okay for her to take the car from the kid, I'm saying it was between her and the kid.
  16. Okay... so, if that's too much of a personal issue, then I think I should share a new goal. I'd like to stop crying when I touch myself. I'm drunk and I'm actually having my girlfriend's brother type this for me. Happy New Year.
  17. no- Now, go read the sexual conquest thread.
  18. Sometime this year, I want to stop wearing a swiming suit in the shower.
  19. The only reason that I have been able to determine for having a smaller reserve is that a smaller reserve makes for a better-looking more streamline rig. different canopy designs will open faster than others, and most reserves have a construction that makes for a quick opening, but I'm pretty sure a smaller size won't nessarily make for a quicker opening. My main is a 170, my reserve is a 181. I like it that way.
  20. Tommy, It's about a year exactly right now since you passed. I'm really feeling that day again right now. One of the reasons that I didn't goto Eloy this year was due to last years events. I'm really regretting that decision. I think it'd be better to be down there to raise some kiltlifter again. Tom, I'm a VCL now, wouldn't it be great to work on VPL this evening.
  21. Yes! If you use you signals it makes traffic flow better. Use your signal jerkwads! It's more of a light pet peeve, but those people that come to a empty parking lot less one car and park directly next to that other car. Dude, your going to dent doors like that, park a space away.
  22. You can still buy online. The preferred method is to buy from somewhere like tirerack.com and have the tires shipped directly to your local shop(Les Schwab is good) You will then have the local shop mount and balance. What size are your tires, or, what make/model/year is your car?
  23. Wow. That would be a great trip. Great scenery. Trips like this one are usually a lot of fun.
  24. When I saw the title I thought that this was a new rainy day activity for around the dropzone.
  25. It's possible that you gut something from the shot, but highly unlikley. At last check, most illness (other than some brusing around the shot location) after the flu shot was either from a source other than the shot, or psychosomatic.
