  1. yeah its been a year since I read it.I guess maybe I should pick that to read ont he plane. ok heres the important stuff I left out: -towel -camera batteries -flashlight -sunscreen (I dont burn but I'll pack it anyway) what else? Earplugs. For the skyvan, and possibly for noisy neighbors at night. for me. necklace to keep my car key on. Sending your keys to Canada isn't good times. Though, pizza at mooses on Monday is. lost keysel-
  2. Nope, not yet. I like using packers when at boogies. I don't find them a leech on the sport. A few times I have been irritated with one or more packers claiming some prime packing area as their own though.
  3. Well, USPS from California to Lost Prairie3-day delivery with $3000 of insurance is about $64 http://postcalc.usps.gov/Summary.aspx?M=3&MT=1&P=20&O=0&OZ=94043&DZ=59925&RECT=True&h=12&L=30&W=18&G=0&OCity=MOUNTAIN%20VIEW&OState=CA&DCity=MARION&DState=MT&Z=Zone+5%2c+Inter-BMC&MSN=Priority+Mail&MSNCOSTS=33&time=3+days&msAC=Dimensional&SSNAME=Insurance&SSNAME=Delivery+Confirmation&SSCOST=30.25&SSCOST=0.65&SS=1&SS=13&DV=3000&AC=0&MailingDate=6/30/2008&MailingTime=17:00 with $4000 of insurance is $74 http://postcalc.usps.gov/Summary.aspx?M=3&MT=1&P=20&O=0&OZ=94043&DZ=59925&RECT=True&h=12&L=30&W=18&G=0&OCity=MOUNTAIN%20VIEW&OState=CA&DCity=MARION&DState=MT&Z=Zone+5%2c+Inter-BMC&MSN=Priority+Mail&MSNCOSTS=33&time=3+days&msAC=Dimensional&SSNAME=Insurance&SSNAME=Delivery+Confirmation&SSCOST=39.75&SSCOST=0.65&SS=1&SS=13&DV=4000&AC=0&MailingDate=6/30/2008&MailingTime=17:00 For parcel post(7 days to deliver) your looking at $63 for shipping with $4000 in insurance: http://postcalc.usps.gov/Summary.aspx?M=3&MT=1&P=20&O=0&OZ=94043&DZ=59925&RECT=True&h=12&L=30&W=18&G=0&OCity=MOUNTAIN%20VIEW&OState=CA&DCity=MARION&DState=MT&Z=Zone+5%2c+Inter-BMC&MSN=Priority+Mail&MSNCOSTS=33&time=3+days&msAC=Dimensional&SSNAME=Insurance&SSNAME=Delivery+Confirmation&SSCOST=39.75&SSCOST=0.65&SS=1&SS=13&DV=4000&AC=0&MailingDate=6/30/2008&MailingTime=17:00 So, that's not a lot more than $50, particularly considering that some airlines are starting to limit the weight of the carry-ons and bags, and that a repack is a hassle and expensive. Shipping it is something I'll be considering on the next.
  4. LOL, that's funny. That one looks like something that should be displayed at his wedding.
  5. There isn't really anything in that picture to provide scale, but off of the appearance, I'm guessing that your girlfriend almost stepped on a yellow bellied snake: http://www.texassnakes.net/YellowBellied.htm
  6. I'll translate this statement into something a bit more realistic, it might explain a bit: Co-worker 2)"I'm a gigantic pussy, and I enjoy finding justifications for being that way in this tragic event."
  7. Well, he said he was moving, so I imagine he had other things. But that brings up the point that shipping your rig might be a good way to go. They don't really care to much about what's in there, and for $50 you could ship your rig most places, fast, and with insurance. Hummmm..
  8. I'm going. I'm getting ready to not successfully complete VPL this year also. Very much looking forward to it.
  9. Talk to your instructors about this when you go out to jump. There usually a number of levels that you will go down as time between jumps gets greater, so don't be surprised if they make you repeat one or more levels before doing that lvl7.
  10. I've got a tiny HT that works on 6 meter. I haven't found much value in it yet. It hasn't occurred to me to try making a contact while under canopy that wasn't another skydiver. I am almost done with a tiny APRS rig to be used in skydiving. That's been fun. As for the HF operation, I guess you could design up a full wavelength antenna that you could let fly behind you. It could be pretty cool. Just put some cut-aways on that thing. You never know when they might come in handy.

    Smart car

Okay, I'll bite. Other than a death trap, what is that thing?

And who enforces that agreement? Why are they not allowed for export?

Did you really say that? People will not now, nor will they in the future take responsibility for them selfs. maybe I'm just being cynical. But probably not.
  14. Sorry, I do not have flash installed on this computer. Why do they need flash? This is just a site that displays pictures right?
  15. It sounds like your outlook will lead to good times for all. Now, how many other women out there feel the same as you do?
  16. Given that this Country imprisons people on trivial and frivolous drug charges more than any other country in the world, I'm not going to make the association that the person in prison is there because they did not positively contribute to society before they went in.
  17. I don't have any extras to add, but that was a pretty good boogie. Thanks for the pictures. :)
  18. So the cop didn't see the guy run, did he? The cop shouldn't be able to give tickets for things like the running if he doesn't see it, and the guy doesn't outright admit to it. I know it sucks, but that rule serves a good purpose. You don't want cops writing tickets on the word of people off of the street. Michael-
  19. Get her windows defender. It's free. It works pretty well to spamish popups. It doesn't slow your machine down like those poor quality mcafee and norton products. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=435bfce7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d&DisplayLang=en You might get firefox installed on her machine, getting her off of IE.
  20. So there probably not a lot you can do to recover the situation here. Things to learn: 1. avoid extended warranties(primarily ones not offered by the car manufacturer). They usually don't cover you for much of anything. I have never heard anybody say "gosh, I'm glad I bought that third party, extended warranty for that car!" 2. just like downwardspiral said, do not goto the dealership for anything past recall notices and original warranty repairs. 3. look into doing some of the work yourself. 4. Did I mention the avoiding extended warranties? Replacing those lights might be quite easy. walk over to the parts department and ask for a new light module.
  21. Well.. that's got to be the exception on a honda like that. Even if you bought the "extended warranty", it probably would have not covered a lot of the repair. Don't feel bad about not buying that thing.

    L.O.S.T.

Is L.O.S.T. a acronym? Why the periods in there?
  23. have you tried craigslist? I'd be happy to package anything up out here and ship it for the shipping costs alone if you find something you like. My fixie friends seem to like them a lot.
  24. gratz- That's a pretty good thing. Hang in there, we are all supporting you.
  25. Wow, that. Would be a good thing to do. How long does the trip take on average?
