When the gov taxes they don't tax the poor. The bottom 50% pay < 3% of all taxes, so let's understand taxes are almost exclusively for the rich. wow i want to know what fantasy land your in where the gov doesnt tax the poor. kinda sure im no where near the rich life and im getting taxed like mad.

i say all 3, i dont have any facts or info cause lets face it i really dont care and lookin up research and info seems to much like school. i dont feel taxes alone could have done much since most of the worlds populas was unemployed and if you tax a man makeig 0 from 10% to 25% you still mae 0 on taxes. so i would just say with the combination with the bunch (production increase and jobs WWII) and (higher taxes better structure) definetly made it happen when 1 or even only 2 of the facts wouldnt have done much.

As much as it pains me to sy it i havet agree with you cliff. We did not come here on a humanitarian mission we came here to destroy a threat to the US and its allies. That job has been completed long ago. Unfortunatly there is grooves of bleeding hearts that care about everyone but there own here in the US, and ifwe would have just taken the country and its resources and left it to the wolves that would have caused a different set of problems and pissed off people. In 2003 when hit Baghdad with no support from our taxpayer money soldiers payed interpriters out of there own pocket so we could communicate with the locals. The general opinion of the people were that they lost the war and the US ownes everything, but then we fixed this shithole and gave it back to peole that steal electric cables and sell it back to the power company then bitch cause theres no power. So yes we should leave or just take what we want from this place these people dont want our help so i say screw them. If you feel that im just a mindless grunt then because of saying we should just take what would serve our nation then obviously you have no idea why wars have ALWAYS bee fought.

Let's see. I'd probably have jet fighters on alert at all times . Probably an automated missle system on the roof . Maybe a radar system in place to track all objects flying within say 500 miles of the country. OH!!!! We had all that !!!! But even with a Presidential order which(according to the 911 commision report) "authorized the shooting down of commercial aircraft that were suspected to be controlled by terrorists" , the military just couldn't manage to take out a large slow commercial airliner. Hmm. Blues, Cliff First off this is definetly trolling second if you havenever been faced with a decision to end life even more so the lives of civilians and countrymen, then you have no say. I have been blessed not to have to have that decision to kill countrymen to save a building. I mean really get over it.

i agree we are spending to much money on things here in Iraq but not from what you think. We spen millions a week on things like KBR, TCN's andshit we dont need. KBR does all our electrical work and we have had over 100 soldiers killed in showers due to faulty electrical. Not to menetion paying some firefighter 90-150k per year to sit around and do practicly nothing. Oh im sorry they had 1 fire so far the rest of the time they tell us we cant have privacy curtains in our rooms. We can save billions just by letting the military take care of ourselves, let our cooks cook, our firefighters fight fires, so on and so forth. We wast to much bringing contractors to do our work for us.

I understand what your saying, anad as far as the people who are hopeing that whnen a disater hit gov. fundation (FEMA, PD, FD) will be there to the rescue, though i have faith in mst PD, FD FEMA i dont. I was in Camp Shelby Mississippi when Katrina hit i watched FEMA role in then i watched them proceed to our chow halls where they sat for 5 days doing nothing not even planning. That boiled alot of us since we were guardsmen and wanted to help but because we were getting deployed the army said we couldnt for risk of being hurt. Im still pissed about that.

Really. Why is that? Because people have limited imaginations. Whatever they "think" is the worst disaster, will be proven wrong by a bigger one; sometimes caused by something insignificant they never imagined would have caused one. I might have a limited imagination, but for what has been considered, we are fairly well covered. Granted, I don't have any good anesthetic, but I have the skills and supplies to cover most minor surgeries. We have the ability to be self sufficient for a period of at least a month. i seem to remembe a histoy leason onsomething like this happeneing where jobs became scares, banks fell, people starved to death in the street. I think they called it the great depreassion or something like that. I bought a brand new Springfield XDm .40 cal high cap. before i deployed, i got to shoot it for th first time when home on leave and did some transition training with my SKS the ol' girl is spot on even whle moving.

MMM taser marks..i volunteered to be tased when we were training for this deploment, since we work with detainees. I will take that over the 8% OC spray to the face anyday.
