I got this out of what she stated to a rep. which was posted in the news report: "For her it was like, 'I couldn't abandon my child,'" Sussman said. "She was really afraid of what would happen, that if she showed up they would send her to Afghanistan anyway and put her son with child protective services." Funny enough her child WAS placed in a temp custody because she was arrested. Again she was a specialist on her way to be a leader herself if she heard something that might sound funny you ask questions. You make a family care planand if she had one unless her mother called her while she was on the flight line, the soldier had enough time to tell the appropriate people on her care plan failure. I still have no sympothy she gets whats comeing to her

In the military you are concidered "single" if you are not married. I like this female soldier had to do was make what is called a Family Care Plan for any dependets that you will be leaving while on your deplyment. If you are unable to complete a care plan with satisfactory conditions you CAN NOT be deployed. That is briefed to you by your command which keeps sounding more and more like her command failed her. They never should have let her go as far in the process as to miss a flight witout a plan. So yes the main blame should be on her command, but as a soldier she should have used the resources available to her to get the proper info. Just so everyone knows the Army has an "open door" policy and if you feel your leaders are failing you somewhere you go higher, theres a possability of getting yelled at but most the time its worth it.

"For her it was like, 'I couldn't abandon my child,'" Sussman said. "She was really afraid of what would happen, that if she showed up they would send her to Afghanistan anyway and put her son with child protective services." Seems to me it says she was "afraid" of that action but there was no threat of the action. More or less she just assumed and in the Army "assume" means to make an ASS of U and ME also being the fact that when i shipped out on my current deployment i was a single parent so i really have no simpothy for her poor decision.

Your right and wrong about this. Though there are some units that do not deploy theres MANY soldiers that have found some "loop holes" around deployments. The biggest "loop hole" is soldiers will do whatever it takes to get into a school wether it be an NCOES or some other long term schooling. Some do it for a legit reason, to advance there career but theres tons out there that do schools to avoid deployment. Thankfully the military is aware of this and are in the process of stopping it. As far as the mother goes in this case though she had a just reason she is guilty of AWOL (some even say disertion) there is WAY easier ways she could have taken care of this, but as i see her lack of experience and knowledge by her and mostly her leadership gave her a giant mess to deal with.

How long would they live in their wet dream world
bullin82 replied to Amazon's topic in Speakers Corner
BEST REPLY EVER!!! cant beat that cause sadly your right. everything is grand a long as you dont get sick/injured and since were a society of fat lazy people who couldnt track a squirl in the woods after a while were screwed lol. But the zombies and that damn billy jackass is going to make things even harder -
This is a difficult one for me since i carry when im home and believe we have that right. But i also believe that there should be "gun free zones" like schools, hospital, parks and so on. A sign wont stop people really but when someone decides to break the law make sure the punishment is harsh enough to teach everyone else not to. In all actuallity society is jst going to get worse since all we do is "baby" our children and most often than not there not held accountable for there actions. Also sadly no matter what we do theres always going to be that group that just wants to see the world burn and there no stopping or preventing it.

Seven shot dead at US army base in Texas

Most telling is that the "Bin Laden" in the video is wearing a gold ring. It is against Islam and an afront to Allah for a man to wear jewlery. Really so you think ALL muslims follow ALL the rules of Islam?? Wierd since i see Muslims all the time here in Iraq, when i was in Afgahnistan and America wearing jewlery, not praying when there suppose to and yes even eating pork. so that little factoid has no pull. Now the left hand thing is credable but the nose?? i guess you and him are close personal friends were you know that. But i guess 1 out os 3 statments bing credable isnt to bad Me personaly i think hes been dead for years but theres no proof yet. i mean how long can a man live on kidney dialesis in a cave?? -

Quote Sounds like a good guy to me. War, or the prospect of it, can do that to people. It's the war and war effort that's crazy, not how people react to it (ante or post deployment).Quote You are the most ignorant person in the world...just because you dont agree with something does not give you he right to kill a bunch of people. That douche joined the Army knowing damn well he could be called to war. Oh and FYI head docs like that never get into any real danger over here. -

Im sure you all have seen video of Iraqi EOD (explosives ordanence disposal) "disarm an IED. ive witnessed first hand how they feel that "strength in numbers" works on IED's some of the funniest horrifying moments of my life to watch a group of them turn to vapor because they kicked it. -

75% of Young Americans Unfit for Military Duty
bullin82 replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
when i tryed to join i was 250 lbs and wasnt allowed in this was 2000 i started to eat right and workout and lost 50 lbs to join the Army, much like you and your cousin. Now that fact of the matter is were stuck with a bunch of overweight kids that have NO ambision so there not even trying to loose the weight. Yes the miltary gets you into shape but if you cant be at least close to the start point they dont have the man power andtime to do 1 on 1 with fat lazy kids. Also over the years basic has become easy with the fragile mind kids we have now. there allowed to eat what they want at the chow hall talk in line the rumored "stress card" is an actual thing now, hell i have a soldier now that just got out of basic in 2008 as cav they were allowed there cell phones lol. were getting to soft on these kids they need to know of responability, dicapline, and respect this is where were failing as adults and perents and its now where near being the Gov fault or a military being "to picky" -
American conservtaives are all about silly symbols of whatever. They relish flags, crosses and statues as if they matter. The Saddam statue topplingg, as if it mattered and anti-flag burning are just what they worry about, whereas the lefties are more substantive. If someone loves their country, fine. Believes in Christianity, fine, but to worship a symbol is just plain silly. Im not sure if your aware of this but the Iraqi's wanted the US ti topel the Saddam statue and we refused and let them do it, and the Iraqi's who helped and supported love us for it, much like the Berlin wall.

I see this thread has been posted on alot and im sure im not the first to post my results. In 2003 during the ground attack into Iraq we had to clear old busted tanks that had DU rounds in them (from gulf war) later to find out what we were exposed to. Nothing realy to report yet but we also were told it can take years to see an effect. So if i die ill let you all know.

Well its a good thing that "eye witnesses" dont acount for much any more these days. I know when i went to school to be a cop thats what was taught to us from the ADA, that eye witnesses are the worst form of evidence and are accounted fot very little

bullin82 replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
