Loosing track of who said what. A California paper received a note supposedly from Cooper with a number code on it....it telling them if they could decipher it that could find him. One of the older journalist there said they figured it was forwarded to the FBI. The code was Duane's navy and army number written in Code - it was in the back of the metal address thing he had. I had asked Duane what the numbers were and he said it was code for his Navy and Army number. This was during the last yr he was alive. My comment to him was "You were never in the Army". Remember I was unaware of the ARMY "time" until the brother provide the proof he was and Doug Pasternak provide the official proof that Duane was in the Army and the FBI had claimed he was never in the Army. Perhaps they did not consider a few wks If you can call a few wks being in the Army! He was DISCHARGED as an undesirable. That Code was on the same page as a Chicago phone number he was supposed to call if he was ever in trouble. This was discussed in the thread. Seems like the entire Cooper Story has become a Spoof. You are AWARE when it became Area 51 there was already an airstrip there. When or why I do not know. It is a given before the facility was back in operation as Area 51 the facilities and the airstrips would have to be brought up to par and per specification for such an unusual plane. The contactors providing constuction for the military have to be checked out. This contractor probably had other projects at other airport...and might explain why a subject would be familiar with MULTIPLE airstrips regardless of how remoted they were. Even after the special planes came in - the facility needed service. remember there were covers placed on the air strips that concealed the plane - so I have read in looking thing ups the last couple of day. I made no error in posting about Benzedrine. It is a fact that Cooper had Benzedrine on his person while on the plane. His use of it was merely an educated guess. Why he would use it was merely speculation. I changed or edited nothing, and I stand by my post. IT IS NOT A KNOWN FACT WHAT DRUG IF ANY COOPER HAD ON HIM. FIND THIS STATEMENT IN THE FBI PAPERS - SHOW PROOF COOPER HAD BENZEDRING. OTHER WISE RETRACT THE ABOVE STATEMENT YOU JUST POSTED. None of that happens fast. No production just jumps into something like this. It is NOT a movie nor anything I would profit by. I have always stayed out of that venue. I did let them pay my expenses as I could ill afford to absorb those. I want the truth and of course it is human nature to think perhaps there might be monies involved - but I turned down every offer made to me. I felt I had to know the WHOLE STORY first and needed some kind of proof or verification. Why there has been no movie or book on my part. It was my choice and I did have offers. One guy did a contract for a book and his queiry letter was so far fetched - I said NO way and requested a release letter which I still have....that was in the very beginning after the media got hold of this. It has always been about the truth and who was this man I spent 17 yrs with? I had my taste of the media those first few yrs - and did NOT like it at all. My choice was to continue to fight for the truth and that is what I have done since 2002. Then along came Blevins and Marla and others, but I continued my effort in my own way. Some think I made a poor choice, but it was MY CHOICE. I wanted the truth regardless of what it was! After 8 yrs on this thread you guys should know that. I do NOT want some writer claiming things that are not true - that is my stand. Things are being discussed, but I stay in control - if it sounds and looks like exploitation it probably is. In these last 17 yrs - I would have settled for authorities to have shown up on my door and had me sign confideniality pledges with serious penalties - just to have known what Duane was involved in. The pictures I first made public did NOT show curly hair and I have none showing the part, but when it was longer you can tell it comes to one side but without an obvious part. It was my mistake not putting the picture out there with the curls, but the only ones I had he looked goofy in. I would not present the curly haired pics until Geoffrey said the witnesses said his hair was curly...NOT straight. The artist was told the hair was wavy and he does try to show this. Enlarge the pic to page size and you will see how he does the hair. Duane's hair changed with age as does everyone. With humidity - Duane's hair became very curly but he curbed that with products. Also the temporary dye of the day made the hair seem shinier and smoother. Since I used these products myself I know how they made the hair looked...more sleek. That plane was 1974. The plane I am referring to was 1962 to 1972 and was used for some purpose in Area 51 and remember this - men had to build the airstrips and the facilities prior to 51 being accessible. Look at the complete picture - the history of Area 51. There was some kind of contamination mention in a conversation between Duane and this other person and how long the land would be unuseable. Since I have DONE NO research into this - I know not what they were referring to. Please inlighten me! You are very very good at what you do. Do some more! Thank You!

Well, Mrshutter it is like this: The pictures of Duane Weber publically circulated over the yrs did NOT include the Jefferson intake photo. If I had seen the Jefferson intake in 1996 - not sure I would have recognized the man I was married to for 17 yrs. Think about that statement a moment. How long has the pic YOU found and made public been in circulation? 3 months - if that long! What happened was in the works for several yrs. Yrs ago I corresponded with a highranking government authority in WA. DC. In my communciations with this man - I was told the truth would never be known & he had been working to get some things declassified. He died a few months after our conversation. I would later speak with his brother who told me the truth would probably never be known. The man I spoke to yrs ago was one Duane had mention several times. In my search I came across his name and when I found out WHO he was - my thinking was "How did Duane know that Guy?" Most of the individuals involved with the operations are old and or deceased - but a picture is worth thousands of words. When I had access to the pic the authorities realized something was going to happen. The FBI may not have been informed of activities involving Weber because he used the name of John Collins. I do NOT know how you accessed the mug shot. Perhaps someone dropped the ball and it was available thru the FOA - but, that is all it took - ONE PICTURE! The worm was out of the can! The CASE is closed! DB Cooper was John "Dusty" Collins aka Duane L. Weber. The wildest & longest ride a widow has ever been on! 17 yrs and 3 months! I am exhausted, but it is finally OVER! The government took long enough but I am one damn TOUGH COOKIE and I have fought a good battle against ODDs NONE of you would ever want to have to stand up against. Going back to a post - I realized that I was finally heard in D.C. I sent a letter to the head of the FBI and I think what is happening today is a result of that. Yrs ago a man in WA was fighting to get these files made public, but he died before he could do it. I have mentioned the man's name in the past...but will not talk about this publically at this time. I had been recieving some anoymous emails and a phone call. The person was genuine and I think he knew of my plight and knew he was dying. I knew who he was but did NOT know him. Nothing happened and I saw that he had died. So I knew the man was trying to help me - and did not think it fair I was dealing with all of this. He felt the files should NOT be held closed. I would later talk to a relative of his...who confirmed this and that I would probably never know what was behind it all. Until NOW - I didn't think it would ever happen. Yes, a lot of what is going to be made public is going to have names redacted, but the story is there. All the things and the people I talked about. I am NOT out of my mind and I knew I didn't dream it or make it up. It was a real conversations with some real people. Remember some of these excerps from other postings? Duane and I went to Denver for the Holidays in 1979 - actually it was celebration for the 2 guys. The man with one leg. The alcohol was abundant and the tongues were loose. I had related some of the conversation yrs ago and really felt uncomfortable with it. All about La Vegas and some area below that. The talked about contamination that would be there for ys. This was all in the same discussion as Howard Hughes, Texas, The man who made the golf clubs. Duane took me to the airport and the told me about every plane out there. This is when he told me they worked for a service involved with the planes...but it was much deeper. The wife of the day did verified this, but she also so talked about Arizona, Tx, CO and NV. - just as Duane and these other guys. I still didn't get it. Over the yrs there was SO much that Duane actually told me, but I didn't see it....there was just too much for it not to be true. Then the FBI says he spent most of his adult life in prisons and I find out all that is true, but then Weber disappears off the face of the earth for a few yrs. Now it will for the most part be made public, but why now? Now most of the people involved are deceased - but, hopefully they will not redact the names of those who are deceased. The conversation were about Area 51, but all I could think of was the Alien thing. I did not know I was sitting with people out of history. Back then things just went over my head - but I absorb them but never had a reason to find out what they had been discussing. My poor attempts and my pea brain did not GET it. Skunk Works - that was in Ca. Then I knew why the wife and Duane went to California in the 60's but just for a couple of wks - he put her into a nice motel and came back after a few days. She told me about Paperlegs just as Duane did. In other words I had part of the story right, but I had filled in the blank incorrectly. I guess that is why I kept doing a double take on the Skunk find. I didn't know where I had heard the terminolgy and why was this Skunk connected to Cooper. The Skunk story is a hoax - but, it was also sending a message....to whoever might just GET it. I DID NOT GET IT! I did a post early on reliving the things Duane told me and the things he did - I just was always afraid to tell everything he told me. But with more than one person Duane knew they talked about Reno, the Desert not far from Las Vegas and about contamination that no one might know was there. I heard some of these guys had a reunion of sort several yrs ago. I thought Duane and the guys he knew were talking about where the Alien thing was supposed to be - but Area 51 was something altogether different. I hate history and that is the one subject I had to really work on. This was current history, yet it is American history and the part that always turned me inside out - secrets...too many secrets. Now the are declassifing the Documents and some names will be redacted, but now these guys who are all over the hill and most of them deceased can finally talk about what they did. Not all of the men were military or CIA - some were convicts needing the money to start over and it was good. Now I understand Paradise - no not the Paradise in WA - now I know what these guys had in common and what the connection was. The black trumpet player in N.Orleans and the man in AL that we went to see and I couldn't find and Duane didn't want me inside. These guys all knew Duane as John Collins or another alias such as Dusty or Carson or Claudian or Claude. My expectations I am sure will be dashed against the wall or throw off a tall building, but it is the first time my life with Weber made sense. I think information was concealed from the FBI about Duane - communciations with the man who died tried to help and then his brother. The one who died was trying to get the information I needed released, but had no expectation of it coming soon. I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders. I would love to have confirmation, but like Jerry said I might not get it in my life time - but NOW I know and I don't feel haunted anymore. Secrets this government keeps has destroyed to many lives - too many. How many of you knew the truth all along - Georger did you? Men I thought were criminals like Duane were real...some of them not criminals but they all had a common link - one they couldn't talk about! Amongst them was the man who SKYJACKED a plane. Cooper. When I went back to the post the reference to Eng had been removed. You did state with much authority that Cooper used Benazdrine - You established a FACT and expected everyone who responded to agree with you. You deleted it and corrected it almost immediately, but you did say it! I then made a posting repremanding you on that and when I went back to your post it was gone. If I address your postings again - I will make sure to make a copy of it first. I do not usually do that because it makes the postings too lenghty. When I do it is for a reason or to make a point. I do not think that is a picture of the actual plane - because there should be a 1/2 wheel on the door and I don't seen the bump seat or the Galley. I would guess that is because the Aft door is opened in that picture as you stated. I never saw one with the Aft stair door already opened...other than the assimilation with the entire thing open. (I do NOT have a clue what I am looking at). I do know I have seen pics with the aft door closed and it had a wheel on it. Duane showed one to me in 1988 on our trip to the Islands...he even told me how it worked. I also saw one on a fight I made Ohio. Since no one thinks he was Cooper - maybe he had a job cleaning the darn things. The wife and Duane told me they both worked for a service in CA. for a short period of time. This caused another memory: When Duane and I went to Denver for the Holidays in 1979 - he went to a place we could see the airport and the told me about every plane out there. So in 1979 Duane was setting me up and it culminated with a confession in 1995. That is pretty hard to swallow! This was when we met up with old friends of his for a couple of day. Harry or Harrison - the man with only one leg. His right leg had been amputated....he told me from cancer. He drove a yellow toro - a car without the hump in the middle because of his leg. They knew each other for the past and talked about Vegas. This man had been chauffer for Howard Huge at one time. I know this is off subject, but when a post triggers a memory I need to spit it out right then or I will forget it. I have told this story before. The man lived in South Colorado near Castle Rock (hope I pulled the name out of my head correctly). I know that on one outing we drove down to that area and there was field of a white flowers which turns out I am VERY allergic to...the allergy spoiled that trip. At one time I knew the name of the flower - it is in the cactus family. They grow in FL and I have to be careful not to go near them when they are blooming. At that time he mentioned knowing someone who lived in the area and I believe it was the indivdual we ended up meeting in Denver on that holiday. We have those genuinely interest in the subject - come to the forum for information and they look at where we have been and where we are now. Those are individuals genuinely interest in trying to solve the case. You ask questions in a subjective manner - one that leads with false information....and I made a point to bring this to your attention and to the posters. Now it is up to them if they wish to continue to engage and you need to stop starting your posts by saying things like....We KNOW Cooper used a specific drug - when there has been NO indications of that. You then create more myths. That is MY gripe with you - your creating false statements and making them sound like facts in the case when you do not present the source...such as the drug of choice. YOU made the decision about the drug - and YOU do NOT know what the Drug was. I do NOT for one moment believe Curtis Eng told you that as indicated in your post! Other posters have not been that brazen or that assertive in stating an unknown as fact. That is HOW writers approach thing - they start by leading the information source. New posters need to at least review the thread by subject matter so they do NOT sound like someone doing a high school - paper or a law student on assignment....or a cheap ass journalist. Time usually weeds them out. I have often wondered what he thought about the mouse he later received. It was never acknowledged. If anyone of you actually talk to ENG as is claimed often - ask him about Jo's mouse! All of those discussion are very easy to find - we do NOT need to repeat them. They were made in the last 3 yrs. WE do NOT need to do A LONG LONG rehash of this - that is what the search function is for. Why are U trying to waste our time and make all of the efforts put into the thread unproductive. I tend to believe that Palmer has a better grasp on this than Kaye, because Palmer had the lastest river data. He also had personal accountings as to the weather. Things that do NOT exist now. I KNEW ABOUT COOPER, BUT I DID NOT KNOW HE HAD USED THE NAME DAN COOPER ON THE TICKET! UNTIL MAY 25 1996 when I read a mostly fictional book by Max Gunther called D.B. Cooper - What Really Happened I did NOT know about Dan Cooper until May of 1996. I knew the name D.B. Cooper and that is ALL! If it was reported in some article - I probably didn't read it. I remember the first article and I am sure there were follow-up article, but which ones the Atlanta News carried - I don't remember. If it was not in the Sunday paper - then I definitely not see it. I never watched the news on TV. in those yrs. I had kids doing other thing and it DID not revolve around a TV or a daily newspaper. I had seen news article in 1971 and perhaps in papers after that. I did NOT know Cooper used the name DAN COOPER. I knew about D.B. Cooper, but only due to reading news articles (what little may have appeared in the Ga papers). I did not know D.B. Cooper used the name DAN until I was reading the book by Max Gunther on May 24th 1996. I will swear that in a court of law. Sports and Crime - was not my interest in those day. " Jo Replies : I do not know what you find ODD about my keeping up with current news. We only got the Sunday paper and I read it from front to back. My mind back then was much better than today. It is how I aced Test. I could go to the page number in my mind and invision the Geometry or Physics answer. Now, I can't balance my check book. 1971 there was NOT a lot of TV and I had 2 children. I taught them to read as I was an avid reader and felt books were the door to education and intellect - NOT TV. I did well! Dates! Well, I have always been lousy on dates! Do you remember the exact location you were at and what you were doing in the last wk of Sept or the 1st wk of October 1979? I knew I was in WA, but I have not looked at a 1979 calendar. I can tell you what I was wearing on the first day of that trip on our stop in Salt Lake because I have a picture. I know what I wore the next day because it was supposed to cool down. I know where we spent that first night. Remember I had never been to WA in my life and this to me was an experience of a life time. When I traveled with my father - he would quiz us about the places during and after our summer vacation, The teachers usually asked us to write a sma;ll story about our summer experiences. I always had a great story to tell - because my father felt that travel opened the mind and he made sure we retained the memories of all of those trip. We Drove from Ft. Collin, CO to WA. I have even told what kind of car we had and the color. The only remark Duane made about Cooper was that ONE remark! "That's were Cooper walked out of the woods." Yes, I had knowledge of who D.B.Cooper was - just no details. My reply was "How would you know that" His reply was "Maybe I was the one on the ground". He never said one other word about Cooper on the entire trip. I think for a moment he forgot I was not the other woman he had been with for several yrs. Her memory she shared with the bottom of a bottle. Now I will answer your silly questions: We went to Tena's Bar and then drove to the Red Lion. Since I have now been back out there 2 times of course I can tell you how many miles - I have maps. If the trip in 2001 had been more organized and I had been more prepared this saga would be over. Silly why would I think it odd a paper bag would float. It was like an ice cream bag and rolled over at the top - sure - it floated for a period of time. He may even have secured it with a rubber band - but I did not see it before he threw it into the river...only in the car near his right foot. When he go into the car at Tena's bar is when he moved this package from his left to his right, because I asked what it was - he said "Just, trash and I'll get rid of it at the next stop". Well, why was it on the other side of the car and what was in it that he was careful to put it very very close to him. If it was Trash why didn't he just hand it to me and tell me to dump it when we made the next stop - we HAD a trash container in the CAR. THAT is why his calling this trash is ODD to use your word. What I have told is first hand and not second hand and none of it is fabricated. It is the same thing I have told for 17 yrs, but NO ONE CARES about the truth. The truth is not full of adventures. The truth is some what dull. Dumb excon pulls off the BIG ONE as reported by an occupant of Jefferson Prison. No one heard men - they were ex-cons. The FBI never researched the name provided if the ex-prisoners or current prisoner could remember the name. A lot of mismanagement was going on in that prison in 1971. Carr said he could not find the report from Jefferson. Himmeslbach swore agents went to Jefferson and some other prisons to follow leads. I remember my life. Ask my kids. How I could remember what each one of them was wearing and the trip in a Belaire at 105 miles per hour because on of them was severly injured in 1965. I turned my head and one of them kicked and broke glass on a terrazo floor almost severeing the toe of the youngest one. In my frantic to stop the blood flow when I got in the car had locked myself out. I broke the jalousy window to get back in. I passed thru a school zone way over the speed limit. This is when I picked up a highway patrolman. He came along side me and I was driving 105 miles and I kept pointing at the seat and the shaking my head and did NOT stop. The patrol man realize I had a problem and then he had to have gone 110 to pull ahead of me with sirens blasting. When we got to a major intersection he thought I was headed to the hospital, but I turned right toward Casselberry to my Drs OFF and carried my bloodied limp child into him. Had we have gone to the hospital my daughter would have bled out...that area did NOT have good service. The patrolman did double back and found my car infront of the Dr.s office and the nurses told them I had a severly injured child but she was going to ok. The patrol did NOT even bother to talk to me - no need. I suppose he knew I did what was best for my child and for the circumstances. What each one of them was wearing and the color of the seat covers - I can play that back in my mind like a video....Now, DO you understand my memory - it is visual. A moment that means something to me I can go back to. I think everyone remembers things that way. I just retained more than others do. It is not ODD at all - it is normal.
