Just an Idea! I love reading this thread - I just want to read more and more. There must be many more stories out there - some can only be told by an old timer verbally. The younger divers need to go listen to these stories and write them down and bring them to the site for everyone to enjoy. It is your history. Wilson, I finally have to say something. You keep posting information you know is NOT TRUE. You are making information up. For instance that Cooper was the LAST person to board - are you trying to rewrite history or just muddy the water so that no one actually knows the real facts regarding the crime as it was reported to the FBI. You run around with your INFORMATION like a chicken with its head cut off. Ever seen a chicken run with its head off? He goes around in circles and gets nowhere- after all he has no head. Thank You, This Wilson person has a lot of useless information and incorrect information. I am not a pilot and would never attempt to muddy the experts opinions of the flight. They did reaccess something regarding the vector, due to the winds. Therefore deciding that he may have landed South East of the original search area...which fits with the places that Duane took me to and the things he told me. I will forever maintain that the money that was found in 1980 was put there by Duane in the fall of 1979 (we stopped at two places on the Columbia). I have asked the FBI to do testing on the money using the new methods of today, but they have never done that. They just do not have the man power nor cash flow to investigate a very old crime. NOTE to ALL: Something very special will be happening within the next few months regarding all of the work that I have done over the last 12 yrs. No one seemed to be interested in Ross and Brown - maybe they should be (for those who do not know these guys were suspects early on in the investigation by the FBI and lived in the Alanta area.) Duane also lived in the Atlanta area during that time. I made a request back many posts ago about Ross and Brown - that if anyone had access to their files to please help me. To - Jack Wilson aka Popeye: Roadkill Diaries is just that - a journal - . Why don't you contact Tina Mucklow yourself. I can tell you exactly where she is and her address and telephone number, but I will not violate her privacy and I gave her my word. You seem to be able to quote old articles not FBI files. The statement that Duane made in 1979 "That's where Cooper walked out of the woods" I replied "How would you know that" and he says "Maybe I was the one on the ground". I have said before that maybe my roots are blonde, because I did NOT even give it a thought at that time. I will say one more time - I took it as a joke or making conversation...It would be the accumulation of remarks over the yrs. and his confession - also note I did not know who Dan Cooper was until May 24 1996 (one yr and 2 months after his death). If he had said D.B. Cooper in 1995 in the hospital - I still might not have got it. I had not read anything about Cooper except for a small 1971 article on the 3rd page of a small Ga. paper. I also read an article about the money being found and was aware that in 1980 Unsolved mysteries was having a program about the money being found. I wanted to see that program, but my husband made other plans which was not common for us on a wk. day. If I had seen that program - he would have been caught - because it would have jogged my memory about the dream (aftstairs) and the statement on the trip (he could not let that happen). I did NOT DWELL on every little word he said. he went to great strides at that time to distract me in WA and in 1980 when the program aired. He realized he had let his guard down - he had to cover his tracks. There would be no mention of Cooper again until 1995. We spent 17 yrs plus together - remember that he was a skilled manipulator of people...and I was one of those people. The leg injury - if you know so much about his leg - how do you know? It was not "Old Man Authur" - it was a definite injury and medical records can substantiate that. As for the college student - have you ever talked to him? Have you ever interviewed him? Well, I have talked to him and have emails from him. I have done my home work. If you are such a sleuth - can you not find him as I did and verify your statement. Well, again you got me to repeat the things I have said over and over - you are also a manipulator, but for your own purpose. I sent an email to you regarding a question you asked and I had spoke about the turn that the thread was taking - that it had lost its focus and the disruptive behavior that was present. Plea for Investigative Help

Regarding James Brown and Coffelt aka Ross,I need your help. In as far as I know Brown was only in prison once in GA. Coffelt is another thing - I need to know dates and prisons - and other names he may have used besides Ross. I did not memorize the ticket - I have told you before that I have a unique ability for that type of thing and I will restate again - they did not have passenger names on the tickets in 1971. The ticket obviously had been in a protected place and was in very good condition. What he said in 1979 never entered my mind when I saw that ticket. What he said in 1979 I did not take seriously. Yes, I had very little knowledge of who Cooper was and I really wasn't interested. In 1979 when he took me to WA and in 1995 when he died. By the way he stated "That's where Cooper walked out of the woods". You can't even quote me accurately. I said "How would you know that" and he says "Maybe I was the one on the ground". I did not take him seriously. I was aware of nothing - you neglected to tell everyone that I had blond roots. When he had that dream about the aftstairs - I did not know it was on an airplane - the told me it was from jail. It would be 1996 on May 24 th when I found out what an aft stairs was. I will repeat ONE more time there was no name on the ticket.. In 1995 when I was dressing Duane to take him to the hospital I asked him how he hurt his leg. He said he hurt it jumping out of a plane. I replied "You jump out of a plane" Cooper did not enter my mind and I thought his answer was a joke. I did not have Cooper on my mind - I had a very sick man to get to the hospital and that is all I thought about. You have obviously never cared or loved someone enough to put things aside to do what had to be done. I have never said I had a photographic mind - just an unique ability to recall somethings - like the page in a book and formulas on that page. I had a mental block to counting money - like I said maybe my roots where blond.

Go back and read this thread from being to end - that is why I am on this site and started this thread - and I have received a lot of help from some of the amazing skydivers who read this forum The only persons I am referring to as "trolls" are individuals who came to this site after the Mayfield program and have posted in no other threads." I have been approached by many programs including Inside Edition and have refused to do anymore documentaries. What I am trying to do with this thread is what the FBI and CIA did not do. Making a plead to the skydiving world to contact all of the old-times and show them Duane's picture - most are older than I am and not computer savy.

I am not going to sit here and let a bunch of unscrupolous trolls try to destroy all that I have done. Wilson states: "To think, that a prison, would allow prisoners access to fingerprint cards, is very difficult to believe." My Reply: 1964 was a different time - different rules. Study your history before making such ridiculous remarks. Wilson states: "Don't the prison's re-print inmates upon release, and check their prints, and photo's, to make sure they are releasing the right prisoner?{" My reply: In the sixties LOTS of things happened in that prison - read about it - study the history of that prison and the corruption that abound in that prison at that time. Wilson states: "Let's assume this happened. Then, why was Duane having nightmare's that he left prints on the aftstairs in 1978? Heck, his prints had been changed in the system, so, the prints on the jet would not match his anyway."

Please read the entire site: I will tell this one more time, but this is causing the thread to become repetitive. The Fingerprints: In 1965-1968 - Jefferson City Federal Prison: One inmate who escaped and remained at large for some time managed to get his prints changed within the system. This is a FACT documented in court records. This man was a friend of Duane's and the two common-law spouses shared living accommodations near the prison. Duane's common law-wife of the time verified the connection in the 90's and prior to her death in 2006. The warden of this prison was investigated as was many of his staff and charged with inproprieties over a period of yrs.. This same prison has not provided me with the information that I have asked for many times - and what information they have provided changes. It was not uncommon in those days for a prisoner of a non-violent crime to do office duty - especially those who had brilliant minds, with manners and the ability to do jobs they would have to hire someone to do. These jobs included filing or record keeping. If this "friend" of Duane's got his prints changed within the system during the same time - how many other prisoners managed to get the same thing done.? It could also have been prison staff - much went on in this prison during the time span the two spent there. Much could be done to prove the things I have said - IF the FBI would get off it's honches, but that will never happen. They have not the resources nor man power or reason to investigate this old case. They have never shown the pictures of Duane to the Stewardess and when I first came forward the Capt. was still alive as was the ticket agent. Duane's wife of the time was still alive and his sister was still alive. The step-daughter who told me she KNEW Duane was Cooper was still alive and a story about something her mother did. The letter sent from "Cooper" in CA. Exactly why did they wait until Nov of 2006 to look at the DNA that was on file? Why did they tell me they lost the cigarrette buts and then refute that story? Why did the FBI agent go on TV and take credit for information he had originally denied? I cannot begin to name all of the things that should have been done and not done. Now when so much time has passed and so many died - what may have been known of the truth will only be proven is someone stumbles on that ticket that was in the book that wasn't a book and realizes what it was and not destroy it. The woman who took it probably did not know what it was and it was trashed - she just wanted the book. The FBI never questioned her. The FBI did not interview people who knew him and they didn't even do a complete search of his criminal record. They have never verified that the FBI file prints are actually his prints (another resident who Duane knew and the wives shared living accommodation got his prints change within the system). Duh - wonder who had the skills and the opportunitiy to do that - perhaps an inmate who had priviledges and allowed to work in the office. October of 1971 to February of 1972. We have a very good idea of where he was - a letter was sent to a newpaper and then forwarded to the FBI only a few miles from where he had been hiding in California to recover from his injury. I have yet been able to get the FBI to look at that note and analyze the note and compare it to Notes they have with Duane L. Weber's known handwriting and prints and now his DNA. We can put him in California after November 24, 1971. We can also substanciate that the was in Altanta, Ga in February of 1972 with injurys still evident - injuries he told others were caused from cutting down a tree at his house. I also held the ticket in my own hands twice....you will find that story in the records - search and read. I will say one more time for the record - in 1979 when we went on that Sentimental Journey that he took me from place to place in the OR and WA area and did not look at a map the first time. He knew the names of the roads and highways and he definitely knew his way around. Please note that the money found in Feb. 1980 was found 5 months after our trip - to WA. Not too terribly far from the very place that he took me to on the Columbia (a place where I stayed in the car while he went down to the water). I would only get out of the car after he returned. I fell asleep - so I don't know how long he was there. He did open the trunk of the car before going down and after coming back up.
