Obviously my making the above post was a useless as tits on a bore hound. I am still going to provide some information; On February 2, 2003 I was contacted by a man identifying himself as Doug F----. The email address and a Florida telephone number are no longer valid, but he told me a story about a suspect. Below are the notes I made to myself on my log that day: Told me about a man by the name of Bob Safrin (nickname Bullet). Evidently Bullet said he knew who Cooper was, but he died just 3 wks prior (this would make it January 2003). Bob worked in with Northwest Airlines and was approximately 24 at the time of the highjacking, but I do not know how old his suspect was. This guy told Bob he could to the crime and just a few days later it happened. I did talk to him again, but do not remember the conversations without my finding them in the logs. About a month later I was contacted by an attorney from a northern state who had a client who thought her deceased husband was Cooper. I would have another contact with this attorney recently, but still do not know who the person is or if it is connected to this attorney. It was during this same time frame a man by the name of Meyers was bugging me. Now I gave you a suspect - go find him. I will reveal the name and the phone number I had for the contact only to ONE individual on this forum because I do not believe in disclosing private information in a public manner. The media in the South reporting little regarding Cooper in 1971 - is one thing I believe may have resulted in NO one pointing a finger at a possible suspect. I forgot to tell you all that I was iinformed last night about the death of Richard Tosaw - author of Dead or Alive. He was 84 yrs old. Those of us who diligently do our research have read his book and the articles written about his work. If we all work together - we will find something missed by the FBI in regards to finding out who Cooper was. We know this man did NOT just put a chute on for the first time and jump out of a 727 in 197l. He was exposed to jump training at some point in his life and had the knowledge of 727's. His exposure was low - to the point he was someone no one would remember. All of the research done seems to go to Fort Bragg, but little is said about Ft. Benning. Cooper was rugged - a loner - a trouble maker - a man no one would miss. We need to compile a list of the ways he could have learned to jump and where. What if the CIA or another such organization wanted to do an operation that was not legal? Bear with me for a moment because I don't understand any of this myself. It is beyond my conception of why a government would be involved in such an operation at all. Question? Without drugs being involved why in the 50's or 60's would a group steal planes and take them to South America. Something about stripping parts. The operation involved WA, OR, MX and TX and South America. I only know its and bits - and not enough to understand. 1. I know El Capitan and Casa Grande where involved. 2. Knowledge of planes (such as a mechanic to strip them). 3. Knowledge of chutes - for whatever reason. Of course they needed pilots. What would be the reasoning of such a group and why would there be ANY government involvement? Sounds more like ex-government employees using their knowledge and experience to make money - but drugs were NOT involved during the early yrs. Dropping drugs with chutes came later. This is how drug running came to be - but WHAT was their purpose in the late 50's. Something like the above should generate lots of suspects flying under the radar. Some posters are trying to make the best of the thread by using it to find facts, then use those facts to help solve the case. This thread is the only skyjumping thread available where Cooper researchers can actually talk with real live jumpers and glean from their experiences and apply the knowledge to what is known about Cooper. Those of us who want answers (regardless of our purpose) need to work together. This means not using valuable time to ridicule anyone for their contributions. This could become The COOPER THINK TANK and a tool that might get this case solved. What we need to do is to use this valuable tool made available to us and actually do something THE FBI can't do and has not done to this day in December of 2009 - SOLVE - The Only UNSOLVED SKYJACKING. The collective knowledge in this forum is needed to do this. ALL of us are quilty of destroying the purpose of being here. This community did NOT allow us here to make accusations or to post unrelated material - there are other threads for that. Can't we all talk about the different suspects and develope new suspects without all of the "crap" for lack of a better word? Yes, we NEED to have fun once in awhile and sometimes step away from Cooper, but we need to keep our goal in mind. We need to make every post count - no accusations - or being critical of the opinions of others. What Georger has done regarding the analyzing of a post I did is a good example - he did this without name calling or belittling the other poster.

Thank You, What I have is what the article says regarding who or what was there. And a big question of why this magazine was in a safe deposit box. As for Rangers - I have some information that leads me to believe the Ranger training was started in 1951. I got this from a military historian buff, who is still working on it. The history you are referring to is only in conjunction with Special Forces as I understand it. Perhaps it is the terminology that is so confusing for us NON - military here. I am referring only to RANGER TRAINING - provided not only for our own guys but for others. Maybe this will clarify what I am looking for. As for the picture - yes, I am sure I am reading something into it that is not there, because of the book being in a safe deposit box and something he told me. The article said only 2 of the guys on that mission survived, but referring only to military personnel and not the "others" who where there. The article mentions CIC, Mike Force and China Boys. These guys were not of the super elite. Most just ordinary guys who made mistakes and in the 40's and 50's - loss of family relationshps and respect. ===================== Contractors provided jobs for these guys so they could live relative normal lives. "Meetings" where provided during which they kept their skills active. These guys actually worked for a living when they didn't get their butts put in jail. They didn't get "fuloughs" to a convention to protect, but because some of them had a right to be there............ ================ DID the ULTRA RANGERS exist in 1950' and 1960's ??? Someone did the dirty jobs NO one else wanted to do - who? ============= . I doubt this Our politicians are doing a good job of that without any help. It is time for past secrets and deceptions to be revealed. The declassification of many things over the past 3 yrs is evidence of activities leading right into this. Perhaps the revealing of the past will force the government to CLEAN up its act and kick all the ones out who lie about their income or not paying taxes. To me that is a crime and one that should be automatic explusion from the position. In order to run for a government position or be appointed - they should have to make disclosure and if anything came up in the future it would be a felony - or fraud or both. . [reply Orange posted that a few days ago and that I believe may have been the man I was looking for - I never find them until they die. I intended to try to find any of his family that might have old photos - of his parents or any other family member - or who their connections might have been. Cooley is a name mentioned by Duane's brother and by Duane himself that intervened in the 40's when Duane was sent to McNeil. This family arranged for Duane to go to a special camp in CA. and then Duane disappears for several yrs...we think he was working part of that time in WA, OR, ID or UT area. This man was older than Duane, but too young to be friends of the mother or father...hence why I wanted to know more about his family. The background and location are dead on. If I can track this it might explain how he knew WA state so well and what he was doing when he was there. Be sure these Ranger know the time period - it would not happen in today's world. We are talking the 50's and maybe early 60's - I would appreciate the help, but be TIME specific. The information came from 3 sources. Guy's who were Rangers in the 50's - This was known in their small community that amongest them were some individuals recruited from the prisons and trained at certain facilities....these guys also had prior military experience and where able to fit in with the trainees. They were under the supervision of another government person and lived off base. They did NOT participate in normal activies with the real service men... Also - even though there is the thought that the jumpers from WWII came home and this put an end to the smokejumper training. The forestry contined to send recruits to Ranger training - this training was done on military bases. Other countries have in the past sent their men to America for this training in yrs gone by- 50's and 60's. This was something said I thought was interesting - how strange it felt at graduation to be saluted by men from China and Vietnam (I don't remember the countries he said). Remember you have to talk to people who participated in the training camps in the right age era. The 1950's - early 60's is a very important time era for this activitity. Our own government chose to use - others - to do certain jobs outside of the auspices of the known military activities. Why? None of us may ever know the answers to that - but, it was done. These men had to be compensated - some got released from prison - and then remained ON CALL. Since they had to have NORMAL jobs that would provide flexibility - this was arranged by contractors. Therefore for the most part they received business training and no background check was done. When they got the call to report and since their jobs required frequent travel and time away from home - the wives where none the wiser. If they were in prison - the cover was easy - they were "furlouged" to a medical facility or another prison. If they were injured or killed - I have NO idea how that was handled. Maybe a missing persons report was filed by a lot of girl friends and wives? For the most part these men remained single or not legally married. Cute story, but on a more serious thought - what towers existed in 1971 that were NOT there in 1979...near Battleground and not on high ground. The clearing was flat and in the forest not more than a couple of football field lengths off the road. What kind of tower would NOT be on a hill. What about private or county timber related lookouts or maybe some other kind of tower all together. I assumed "fire tower". Lee Harvey Oswald - I know of NO connection between Oswald and the man I knew as Duane Weber. A participant in the the Kennedy assassination - perhaps he was there, but not as part of an assassination. Missouri State Pen - furloughs - well, it is difficult to be in 2 places at one time. Prison is also a convenient cover for unexplained absences. That painting could all so have been a training camp in Arizona or Mexico...... The "Oh, F--- Let it die with me!" as said very loud and angrily because I did NOT understand what he was telling me and it was out of pure frustration. No one was in that room, but me and there are 2 nurses at the hospital who came into medicate Duane AFTER his outburst who can prove this. At this point I don't have to prove anything- but, you may have something to hide - for the good of Good Ole America. It is time for this Secret Stuff to be over - the government had their chance yrs ago before I used up my life with this endeavor for ALL the right reasons TRUTH. I believe this country was build on GOD and TRUTH and TRUST. IF there was PROOF Duane WAS not Cooper the FBI would have presented that to me and to the public by now. I did not say the picture of Weber and the man in the photo were ONE and the SAME. I was looking for 0pinions because many times I studied the magazine trying to understand what was contained within that would hold so much significance as to conceal it in a Safe Deposit Box. I have even spoke of the other articles in the magazine and the ads in the magazine. This is the only one that constantly haunted me over and over - along with a story told to me by Duane (regarding something within) and one from a mystery man and the threat made toward me after Duane died. A great deal of work has gone into researching this and the forum spent a lot of time generating many ideas regarding Vietnam...and related subjects. I find it surprising anyone is agitated by a TV program and not by the prior searching we did right here in this forum. It is not like this is new information - just not CONTAINED within the boundaries of a thread. The magazine article states that only 2 men survived the ordeal and that there was CIA involvement. It was about HALO drops of small nuclear devices - hence the photo of the jumper and barrel - hence the World's Greatest Jock Carrier. Maybe Duane JUST knew one of the guys in the picture? Maybe one of the other articles was of interest to Weber? According to the FBI records Duane was in Jefferson at this time - but 2 other individuals put him someplace else TWICE while he was contained within this prison. . This was the part of Duane's history that DID NOT make sense. Individuals remembering dates and yrs - 28 yrs later is iffy. Note the original information from these parties happened before 2000 - BEFORE I went public - both I spoke with many many times. I was able to confirm what one of these individuals told me with a family member.....but, how reliable is the information of old men and women? No one got excited or upset about this magazine before - why now? Paintings of an encampment done by an individual connected to Duane during this time looked very much like the encampment in an arial photo of BuDop within that acticle. As I have said before - this fencing was to keep someone out not to contain those within. No man would display paintings of a prison on the living room walls. This man and Duane both were in this place together - because Duane asked him is he still painted. The man indicated about 5 hanging on the wall. I observed the paintings and Duane made a quick comment in regards to the camp and quickly diverted the conversation. I remember the comments. I remember the paintings. I remember what the room looked like and the wall that held the paintings. Nothing more than the ramblings of a senseless old lady who no longer has enough sense to be scared. P.S. Again - I HAD NOTHING to do with that segment or those writers - They hijacked the information from this forum - as far as I know this is the only place I ever posted anything about the Soldiers of Fortune. Look at Ckret (Carr) - he knew. Sluggo knew...and my guys knews, but they didn't have anything to do with this. Contact the writers and the producer - let the sponsors know the writers hijacked the material and information. Take it out on them - not me!

I edited off the last part of the post - but this NEEDS to be repeated because of what was viewed on Numbers in a episode called - Old Soldiers aired on Friday Dec. 4 2009 - writers R Scott and T Scott - not known to me. Post #10947 Guys, I am trying my best to bite the bullet and keep quiet, but I want everyone in this forum to think back to when I posted the pic from Page 49 of a SOLDIER of FORTUNE Magazine dated Dec. 1994. This magazine was the ONLY item in a safety deposit box owned by Duane L. Weber (one, I as his wife did not know he had). I found the receipt in his belonging and went to the bank with the will. Since the box did not have my name on it the bank did not allow me to view the box, but brought this magazine out and told me" this is all that was in it". He had to have placed this magazine in the box in Dec. 1994 or by Feb of 1995 just before he became too ill to drive on his own. A yr later when I found out who Dan Cooper was - the magazine didn't seem important and I had placed it with ALL of the tax returns he had kept from 1968. It was always something I pushed into the back of my mind. Months ago a post in the thread caused me to pulled it out and read it from cover to cover again trying to figure out why this magazine was in that box. I don't really remember the re-actions of the thread, but it is out in front of me again, because of the recent posts. Yrs ago I was contacted by a man who told me that John Collins was removed from Jefferson Federal Prison and place in to a "program". I didn't believe the man. but the FBI never provided me with the Jefferson records and all I got was what this forum guided me to obtain which is detailed in the thread. I tried to obtain the detail work logs and reports which I could never get because after a period of time those no longer exist (30 yrs). Prior to the expiration of that 30 yr period, I had made several exchanges with the prison - and got 3 different stories regarding John C. Collins and others. The story in the magazine centers around BuDop March 1967 (supposedly Duane was in prison). The picture of the BuDop encampment taken from the air resembles a painting Tony Wong had done of a "place" he and Duane obviously spent some time at. (this conclusion was reached by conversation I over heard between the two of them). Names mentioned in this article are: Lieutenant John "Jack" Throckmorton, son of Colonel Throckmorton NOT General Throckmorton. Chief Warrant Officer Jerry Johnson, "China Boys" Staff Sargeant Roger Haliberg, Sergeant First Class J.W. Edgell Captain Stewart (they never give a 1st name). Master Sergeant Charles Hosking, HALO jumps with the dummy device (barrel), The Green Berets knew the SADM (small atomic demolitions munition), Captain Stewarts first name is never given. The reason I am reminding you of this is because this thread has gone back to Vietnam. I don't know what the damn magazine means, but you JUST do not put a magazine in a Safe Deposit box. Considering the subject matter and the atttached photos and the mention of HALO's done at night...WHAT was Duane's connection to this? I find it difficult to even think of Duane in terms of actually being in Vietnam - but maybe having been associated with someone mentioned or pictured. The group picture states that only 2 Americans survived the ambush and 1 of those is named. So what I am getting at - did Duane know someone mentioned in that article or the writer John Mullins? He was TOO connected to that Magazine. It was 1994 when I saw that airline ticket. The house was broke into after I sold the VAN. What was with that Wallet the new owner found? Why did the man tell 2 different stories about where he found the wallet. Did Duane leave a note with the wallet telling me where something was hidden in the house. When the house was broke into NOTHING was taken that I was aware of, but the handles to the fire irons where all loose (I noted this because I went to set them up straight). Duane always said Hide it in Plain Site. Did he leave a note directing me to a treasure and someone else thought it was money - could it have been the airline ticket or one of the $20's? I will always have these question in my mind - till the day I die. Why did he tell me anything? Why did he hide his past? If I told you about another thing I found I would be called a liar or delusional. I was too stupid to see what was right in front of me and something I had in my possession - I didn't know the value of it because I didn't know who Dan Cooper was. Stupid Naive Dumb me. Always taking things and people at face value and never asking too many questions. All that is left now is unanswered questions and I am afraid to trust anyone with everything - I am tired of being called delusional - I am tired of trying to tell people what I held in my own hands and saw with my own eyes. Tired of trying to tell people what he told me and showed me. I am tired of secrets and tired of not being heard (except for you guys). Since 1996 I have told the truth and nothing but the truth regarding what I know. I have NOT lied nor am I delusional. In 2001 when the FBI found I was going Public - everything that has been done has been done to SILENCE me and to make me go away. I wouldn't give up - so now the FBI's and "other's who be " decided they have done enough to convince anyone interested that I am just one of the "wannabe's" or as others in the forum have said - delusional. I believe someone out there knows who Cooper was. In other circumstances our own government ordered pictures and files destroyed - wiped-out because their content would jeopardize national security. I ask (what national security - a security they have build on lies and deception)? If ever was the time to come straight out with all of the secrets now is the time. It will take someone like Snowmman to expose them. We know our government has had their hands dirty before - they just don't want the world to know how many times and to what extent. Our economy is in the gutter, our people living on the streets while one illegal uses up 2 millon dollars in medical expense because they can't deport him. We can not publish the photo, but I can send it by regular email and if you can fade the pic back we might be able to read the writing. I have NO knowledge of how to do this.

Just where the H--- did you get that. You know the confession was always "I'm Dan COOOOPer" and he cooed it out. When I didn't understand what he was talking about is when he said "Oh F--- let it die with me" out of pure frustration from trying to get me to understand.

This 1994 issue of Soldier of Fortune Mag. has a photo of 10 men (the portion I posted was only of one man). I will not risk publicizing a complete photo with out permission and could not obtain that permission when I contacted them yrs ago. There is writing within the photo, but since it is a very very small photo that I enlarged for detail - I cannot make out any of the letters or get any sense out of them. I was offering the complete picture to Georger on a private basis to decipher the lettering, but he got mad instead. I can only make out a letter here and there. Since BuDop comes up on a TV program (even one of fiction) this means someone HAS really been listening to what I am saying or has a different angle regarding BuDop. I would really like to know why they chose BuDop out of all the other things they could have chose. There is NEW information on 2 of the people in Duane's past now, but I we don't want this to become another glich. The information is private information about individuals with whom I have no relation - therefore permission from the individuals or their relatives will have to given. Since some of this might be derogatory - I will tread lightly. What this does is give up more of the background of Weber...when you can't get in the front door - try the back door. Most of their story is plagurized right out of this thread - right down to BuDop - exactly where I took the story in this thread several months ago with Duane and the magazine. Snowmman you are the Abdominal Snowmman - it still has 15 minutes - and I don't know if I should be mad or glad. Outside of this forum - No one even thought of BuDop. They are also claiming a suspect by the name of Sawyer was Cooper, but if my memory serves me right a suspect who came up missing was named a very similar name...just know it had straw in it. Oh! Rackstaw. Henry Winkler is the retired FBI. If someone is trying to make fun of me this is an unusual way to do it. To throw BuDop right out there means someone is at least listening to me.
