Georger my mention of this was pre 2001. After I made my trip to WA I called Jerry. He and I had had many arguments on the phone with his twisting and turning everything I told him. I called him after that trip and virtually let him have it and severed all contacts with him until he came to this thread. One of the major arguments he and I had was about a covert. He kept confusing the points of interest Duane had pointed out on the trip. The first place was above Washougal - the place Duane made the only comment about Cooper on that entire trip. The first one was a tributary that ran into a lake or what I thought at that time was a river. I did not consider this first location a covert, but a tributary. The location on the Interstate is the one that went under the highway to the park. Jerry could never separate the two different places - he can be a very very mean person. The story about the covert running under the highway is NOT where Duane said "That's where Cooper walked out of the woods". Your post made me remember some more of what was said about this location on the Interstate. It is very late for me and I am very tired, but I had to come back and make this clear and to add what your post caused me to remember. I am not going back to the logs regarding this - so it is entirely coming from memory. Duane did make a comment about that covert. He mentioned knowing someone who hid something on the West side of it, just after he mentioned the parallel power lines to the west and before he mentioned the park. Then he mentioned the park and a place the guys used to go. Jerry took this to be the place I was referring to as the one where Duane made a remark about it being the place Cooper walked out of the woods. JT never understood they were 2 separate places. When JT makes his mind up to something there is no way you can win and I stopped ALL communications with him except a letter, I sent that was a farce. because I was furious with him and the misdirection he gave to the crew. So I assure you this was discussed prior to 1996 and before 2001 with Himmelsbach and with JT. JT did NOT get anything right as far as locations and what was said when....Hell, I did NOT have a map of the area other than what was in a book of which 97% was fiction. I have tried my best and so have certain others to trace an old WA tag. One that belonged on a homemade camper - the DVD would only provide initials and unless I could come up with the name - NO DICE. I used all of the names we had in association with Weber and we got no where. I will state this WA Tag was in the possession of an unlikely individual and we could NOT understand it. Did it mean anything - perhaps not, but it belonged to a homemade camper out of WA dated prior to the skyjacking! Just useless information that goes no where. I know I was the first to mention this - but, it was just something pointed out by Weber. It would be a few yrs into my talking to Himmelsbach that I learned the name of the park was Paradise Park. Duane just said it was a place the Guys used to go to - never knew who the Guys where. Don't mock me because I can support every bit of this in my notes and writings - and they pre-date Porteous and Blevins. I am not trying to SCORE a break through - just finally letting out the things I have not spoke publically about in this thread. I do believe I mentioned Paradise Park by name after I found out where it was, but that was in another thread - I believe Unsolved Mysteries...pre Blevins, pre Porteous....might have been 101. Paradise Point Park was first mention by me when I mentioned a park the GUYS used to go to off of the Interstate going to Seattle. I didn't know the name of the park. but explained it was off of the highway on the West side before we got to the Lewis River. This was in my original communications with Mr. Himmelsbach. I did speak with Porteous, but it was limited and I do not remember what we spoke about. It was before Gray did his article - about Christansen. Porteous had contacted me and I responded to him - by email. He was just someone who was interested in the Cooper case and was an investigator. He did tell me he had a suspect. Duane had pointed to the East and mentioned the power lines running parallel and then he made a comment about covert that ran under the highway to a park - a park the boys use to stay at. I had NO idea this was Paradise Point until I was informed yrs later of this and located it on a map. This did not have any association to Cooper - just something Duane pointed out to me on that trip. I never knew who the GUYS were - but, Duane knew the area like the back of his hand. This was before I ever had any knowledge of KC. It meant nothing to me other than someone had access to the stories I had told about our trip to WA in 1979 and I made the connections only after I learned about KC and the story Gray wrote. I do NOT believe Paradise Point had anything to do with Cooper or his jump. It did have something to do with Weber. It was shortly after that comment he talked about a cemetary to our right before we got to the Lewis River and at the same time mentione knowing a woman who used to own a store in a town over the bridge in Or. A place he would take me to on our way back from Seattle to Vancouver. The same town he took me to a old shop and told me he used to know the woman who owned the shop (it was an antiques and furniture repair shop). It was this same town in which he spoke about an auto shop and the man with couple of sons he knew. This turned place turned out to be the Cooper's Auto Repair and the one of the first places the FBI investigated because one of the sons was a jumper. Strange isn't it. I do NOT make this stuff up. I have my recordings and written words I wrote in the early days of my contacting the FBI. 4 yrs before I went to WA in 2001 with a production crew. I knew little to nothing about D.B.Cooper and therefore it did NOT even cross my mind why Duane showed me certain places and told me about so many things. Sluggo surmised that Duane had gone to WA after the fact with individuals looking for Cooper or his money. Since I know Duane Weber's where-abouts from 1971 to 1978 - Sluggo's theory did not cut mustard. Sluggo is well aware of this story (regarding Duane's knowledge of WA) and he and I agreed to disagree. There was another wife from 1972 to 1976 who did NOT want to have anyone contact her and hated Weber's gut. She called him every name in the book and if the things she told me were true than she had every right to do so. I do not know if the FBI was ever able to talk to her or if they even attempted to do so. You guys have to understand there are individuals I have not spoke about as they did NOT want to be involved and I have respected their wishes. I only had 2 or 3 conversations with her and they were limited at her request. Outside of the computer and the FBI - I have tried not to interfer with the lives of individuals who were adversely affected by the existence of Duane Weber. He was a part of their life they wanted to forget and so I gave them their privacy. I never asked or knew if the FBI ever spoke to some of these individuals. That was their JOB. Some of the individuals in Duane's past were willing to talk about him. Tommy Gunn told me that Duane knew people in high places and that if I wanted to be around to play with my grandkids to leave it be. I used to know his threat word for word, but time is taking it toll on my memory. Remember I did NOT have a computer until 2000 and I had to learn how to use it. Everything prior to that was in writing and on a word processor or recorded or logged in my planner. I also kept all of the phone record from that time frame. My relationship with Cook goes WAY back. He does not even know I know ALL of this. Without going to the logs prior to 2000 I cannot readily call the name he provided me as early as 1998. I was concerned about this man and the phone number was one of those throw aways. This man kept trying to extract information from me - wanting to know what I knew. Frankly the conversations frightened me and I had someone do a little investigating. This man found me BEFORE 2000 when I went public. He was providing me with another name and declaring a suspect and then another suspect. Finally I called him out on the phone one night and he was going to have to provide me with a name and address - his goal was to find Tina's location. He harassed me for 4 yrs about Tina's location...then in 2004 he sent me a letter with the cut out of a college annual claiming the man in the pic was Cooper. Well, it was in a conversation after that letter that Cook and I had a shouting match over the phone. He had been shocked to find out I knew the location of the phone number - but he was still not telling me any truths...but promised to with the letter. I refused to divulge Tina's location. He could not seem to understand that somethings in life are not negotiable due to principle...I made a promise and I was keeping that promise. If you guys will recall my tag for Galen Cook was Sneaky Snake. Finally when he realized it was better to be my friend than my enemy - we made peace - sort of. Well, he was still the Sneaky Snake playing me for all he could get out of me.. I would NOT bulge. Then he started talking Straight (as straight as Galen can talk). This only happened after he found out I knew MORE about him than he could fathom a old woman learning about him. Hence he became Glacier Boy to me - he just did NOT know how I came by the infomation I confronted him with. Long story short. Galen is your friend until you provide him with information he seeks. He knew he LIFTED the fingerprint story off of what I told about Duane's dream regarding the fingerprints and the fact we lived in Denver at the time of the dream in 1978. Bear in mind I was talking about the dream from day one and anything else I knew that Duane stated that could be connected to WA or Cooper or jumping. Galen was out there listening and gleaning what he could. I hold NO ill will toward Cook other than WHAT he did to Tina. Unfortunately I was the one who provided him with the CLUE of how to find her. So many idiots out there feeding of the garbage they are fed. I was cracking up back when you guys had one of the group claiming that he had Tina spouse's phone number and address and made it public on the forum. AS all of you should know by now that was NOT her ex-husbands name. Hell, maybe it was him and he changed his name. At any rate someone claimed they actually talked to the man. This is when Cook started to RESPECT me a little. I fed him something - that led him to the divorce records of Tina and HOW I knew the man was NOT Tina's ex. Hell, maybe he was. I was helping him without violating the vow I made not to divulge the location and contact information of Tina. Well, you guys know the outcome of that. He then found her and then he committed an unspicable act...he pretended to be one of the guys off the street with a problem and then he took secret pictures of her which he made public....even using Bruce, but Bruce does not see it that way. Then Grey actually makes her location public in a book. Now do you guys know WHY I don't go public with all of this CRAP. Well, most of us are dead or almost dead - no one can hurt us anymore than we have been hurt. BUT, none of us want to spend our valuable time being made fun of or used by the vicious media...like the Examiner or others. It seems there are NO limits to what someone will do to have the Cooper Story or to be the one who caught Cooper, but they can't get the FBI to co-operate. The FBI only chases the most unlikely stories -what they know will not ID Cooper. The FBI never chased the decent leads they received in the early yrs...OR DID THEY? I am talking about the leads that came in from the various prisons claiming Cooper had been a resident there. I am also talking about a group the FBI all but ignored in regards to Coffelt. Hell, Coffelt was not Cooper, but I think he knew who might have been...he just didn't know his real name. I am tired, but I have some things I need to finish and this is part of it. Bear ALL - Expose ALL and Take ALL. In other words stop worring about who gets hurt as other have made me sound crazy, delusional, off my rocker bar fly, a liar, teller of fantasy stories and now someone wants to make a comedy out of the story. Place your BETs Now! Dan Cooper was never D.B. Cooper! Everyone has ignored all of the logical reasons Cooper chose the name Cooper to begin with - I assure you it was NOT off the top of his head. I believe you are referring to my quoting an article NOT a personal conversation between the co-pilot and myself. I know little to nothing about airplanes other than what I have learned on this thread and flying commercial and in small private planes. The co-pilot and I discussed things related to the incident, but we never went into details about the mph or flaps. They were below 10,000 ft from the ground on more than one occasion. WELL Mr. High and Mighty. Seems like Georger has already explained what I tried to tell you. Cook and Tosaw were friends. I need to read the thread before I post to someone like you. You do not understand the simplest of concepts...and you do not have a sense of humor - WHAT a grump! I have dial-up and I answer the post as I read them. I do not read the post to the end and then go back to make replies. Most of the information about the Balloon Bombs was censored and little made it to the papers until much later. Cook did NOT use his name and he according to an email sent to me made 2 posts. YES, I have had lots of emails from Cook! Not recently though. He likes puppets - he used many of us to post what he wanted to be known - that made us puppets and why I refer to Cook as the Puppet Master. I was not the only puppet. I did NOT say anything about Security clearance. I said they wanted to keep the balloons SECRET because they did NOT want to alarm the public. They were concerned about Chemical WARFARE. Note the date of Duane's uncle being recalled. It is in the US Census. Lyman Van Buren Weber - was recalled for a second term when the first balloons were reported. He helped developed Chemical Warfare for the army during WWI. He served his time for the recall in PUBLIC SERVICE! WHY don't YOU or the FBI request his records? Well! Duane did CWF for the few weeks he was in the Army, but was supposedly in McNeil when the Balloon search started in 1945. So you have just narrowed the window - in the early part of 1945 just like the records show. Perhaps I get some dates messed up. I remember the stories he told me and what I learned from the family. Our government was VERY tight lipped about this, If the date you reported of the mother and children being killed is correct, would that not make the government liable for their deaths by requesting the media NOT report the findings. I think you were having a Janet vision Jo. Hope you are well and that the FL storm causes you no harm. 377 WELL, you are still alive and well. I still do not know what I saw in the sky - was hoping Georger would know what I was looking at. It was eerie, but explainable I am sure. NO, I was not having a Janet Moment! I thought maybe it was something not usually visual because of the storm. The Milky Way visual that night was the most enhanced I had ever experience, but then I am getting old! Maybe I had taken my pill as it is a habit (weather permitting) to walk outside and smoke before I go to bed. Do not smoke in my house or my car. With the statement you made about the TNT program I enquired about? That enquiry required this kind of statement above. I knew it wasn't about Weber - but someone said they mentioned Weber so I thought perhaps it was some kind of documentary - not a movie. This THREAD WAS NEVER ABOUT ME. It is about the SEARCH for Cooper and yes, I started the original thread - trying to learn more about my deceased spouse and more about the skyjacking itself. Your reply is typical of the kind of bickering that is so senseless. Why make such a remark and what in your remark was keeping me Historically & FACTUALLY correct. Like my reply to you, it is NOT productive in anyway in trying to learn who Cooper was. I still believe the written word says you are NOT historically and factually correct in your information regarding the Nickels and the origin of smoke jumpers. Frank Derry was working on those chute for several yrs in CA and testing them - perhaps he was NOT even thinking smoke jumping when he designed them? You Think? If you will remember I asked you a simple question. One that if you found the answer to would make it obvious when "secret" things started to happen. There must be something going on. You guys are acting like a bunch of kids on a blog. I had forgotten that Georger was a JW also, but I do NOT understand the bickering that goes on between a bunch of adults. I do not understand the animosity between Georger and Blevins nor Matthew Clines' sarcasm toward me. Maybe it is the atmosphere lately and the stars! Hurricances, earth quakes, body parts stored in public storage facility, politicians misusing words, secret information leaks, illegal immigrants getting drivers licenses (I was a denied a drivers license under a name I have used for 34 yrs), drive by shootings, senseless murders, ID theft, nurses infecting innocent patients and now you guys stay at each others throats. Speaking of the sky. Did anyone look up at the milky way toward slightly NW. I do not know what I say, but perhaps Georger could tell us. I saw stars with orangy colors peeking out of the milky way - seem to be moving. NO not a craft this was in or behind the milky way. Gold Dartings in a circle behind the millky way or within it. Perhaps I was seeing things as my eyes have aged very poorly. Even with glasses I sometimes see things double, but I was seeing all of the other markings I have come to recognize over the yrs. I stood out there for several minutes - it was like the approaching storm was enchancing the skies. When we all agree to disagree in ways that are not nice - perhaps we need to go OFF subject for a little while. Seems like Jerry Thomas has stepped out at least for the time being. Georger kept acting like he was rushing around - made it sound like a hush hush thing regarding Cooper. Georger makes statements that makes one think he is actually involved in the investigation of Cooper and privey to FBI information, but then in the next post - he is acting like a spoiled kid. Belvins does the same thing, but Belvins is polite with his rebuttals. Mrsshutter and Farflung are objective and yet interesting. We rarely hear from 377. Sailshaw and Robt 99 are in a rut. Parrothead obviously reads what is being written in the thread and obviously a lot of writers read the thread....seems like Scott and Scott stopped using the thread for souces in their TV programs. Everything they were involved in the last 2 yrs - you would catch phrases used first in this thread and ideas bounced around in the thread. As soon as I heard the prhases on a program I would look for their names...now I can't record things so I can play them back. Wonder what has happened to Bruce Smith and Galen Cook? Thank You, I made some phone calls trying to find if anyone had seen it. No, one I know saw it. They actually mentioned Weber's name? In what context? This kind of thing is WHY I do not go public and exactly the kind of problem I ran into with the man who wanted to tell Duane's story. He wrote 2 pages of garbage and NOT one thing that was true....claimed he had to do something to get the attention of publishers. I was quick to say NO that was NOT our agreement....and fired him. I didn't care if anyone ever bought the book - I just wanted the story out there as I have told it. I only get ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox and by Antennae in my attic. So what is Leverage and were would one find a copy of this program. I also only have dial-up so I cannot view U-tube or the news on the Computer. Could or would you summarize what this show is about since I never heard of it. As for my story - people who have actually met me and talked to me over the yrs - believe Weber was Cooper. I believe he was Cooper. There is NO WAY I could have known the things I did when I called the FBI that I did. I have been accused of researching the case - but those who know me personally KNOW I did not know D.B. Cooper gave his name as Dan Cooper until 1 yr and 2 months after he died. What I do know is what Duane told me and what he showed me and my experiences with him during our 17 yrs marriage and only when he knew death was inevitable did he tell me "I'm Dan Cooooper" - I did not know who Dan Cooooper was and went on with my life until 1 yrs and 2 months later when I found out D.B. Cooper gave his name as Dan Cooper and read some details about the crime. I had heard about the crime when it happened and then when the money was found, but that was the extent of my knowledge of Cooper in 1996 when I understood what Duane had been telling me in March of 1995 - eleven days before he died. The research on Weber as exposed by this thread and family information, FBI info and tracing his history SCREAMED - Duane Weber never lied to me. He had told me about his life in 3rd party - knowing if he had told me about his life I would have been appalled. I had already forgiven him for not telling me about the Jefferson thing until 2000 when he tried to get the "John Collins" drivers license - that was when I found out he had lived under another name for 8 yrs and spent 16 months in Jefferson. I had invested 12 yrs into the marriage at that time and we had a basically good marriage until he pulled the "John Collins" thing. Which by the way the FBI again dropped the ball because DUANE WEBER actually did obtain a legal drivers license in 1990 in the state of FL for John Collins? Why did the FBI not realize this - they saw the original and had copies of it???? Now how or why did he do that? Duane needed it to get into a safe deposit box in Nebraska or Oklahoma he had opened in 1980 around February or early March when we lived in Ft Collins, CO. This was right after the money find in the early part of 1990 when the article regarding it appeared in the Denver Newspaper. The story I tell about Weber/Cooper cannot be classified in the same category as others who are claiming a certain subject is or was Cooper. I lived with this man for 17 yrs and we not only were married, but we worked together (with the same company) for the better part of that marriage. His family history tells a story the FBI and others want to ignore. So what was the theory put out by this program you speak of? Does this name mean anything. Maurice Knudson - remember Knudson was a name Duane mentioned having known in WA. Now I know my memory was NOT that flawed. I kept trying yrs ago to spit it out the name with sound alikes. Now who was Maurice Knudson? Evidently he lived in WA at one time. Another name popping up Pennington. Anyone know a former jumper (perhaps recreational) perhaps in GA or VA? Snitscher (not sure of the spelling) I believe Phil or Paul is the first name. Had WA connections.
