What Can We Do About Skyride II
lancefrazier replied to slotperfect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If a DZO made all of the money that was used to buy their fancy planes and buildings selling children into sex slavery in Asia, would there be anything Morally wrong with jumping at their DZ, and using the assets that were aquired by the selling of these children? What about if they sold Heroin to make the money used to buy the DZ? What about if they scammed unknowing people by lying about where they were located to entice people to purchase nonrefundable services and only letting people know they were lying after getting their credit card number? It's a matter of degree, but why would you jump at a DZ for example 3 and not example 1 or 2? Mark Klingelhoefer tough call, mark. if dz #3 sacrificed puppies to satan, and made toddlers watch, it would be a lock. otherwise i'd be looking for a dz that combines child sex slaves AND heroin. even the most staunch anti 1800skyride crusaders would admit your comparison is quite a stretch. actually, they probably would not. in fact, i expect to have my home dz to be accused of all three of these offenses by nightfall. well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo -
USPA A license validity
lancefrazier replied to KermieCorleone's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
jeff, jeff, jeff, kermie is asking about aff in georgia. "Why pay an average of $200+ per jump when you can get 2 to 4 jumps for the price of 1 AFF jump." maybe it's the freefall, jeff. that's why i chose aff. maybe it's actually leaning how to fly his body from jump one. while static line is a perfectly valid mode of training. aff is eclipsing it in poularity for good reasons. "You may notice that the other user here who is advertising for a certain DZ is attempting to dazzle you with some really killer prices and packages. Then you will notice that he goes on to mention that you will have to pay $150 for any jumps you "Need to repeat"." i think the pricing for aff at all three of kermie's local, uspa group member dz's are pretty dazzling. "Hence, "Failed" a jump?? How can you fail a jump?" not accomplishing the learning objectives for free fall and canopy piloting. i did 9 jumps to finish the 7 aff levels. the money i saved on the aff package essentially paid for them. "You jumped, You landed, You lived, You passed!" kermie, merely surviving an aff jump is not the goal, trust me. "The reason the AFF DZ's mention that is because there is a high percent chance that you will have to "Repeat" (?) a jump or two." that's true "They do that so they can get you back for another jump or two." actually, all of your local dz's will want you back for hundreds of jumps. "But They will never admit that." we all will, i just did. "The most that should happen if you missed something on a jump is that it should be logged in your logbook and attention would be given to that area on the next jump or before your "A" License check dive." from a jumper who holds no instructional ratings, much less a membership in the uspa. "And if an Instructor says you can't log a jump for one reason or another, they are lying. YOU JUMPED! YOU CAN LOG IT! Even if you didn't get a passing score." an instructor will debrief you and help you log every jump you make as a student. whether you move to the next level or not. Also, here's a couple of really good references that willl help you to make an educated decision about where to jump. http://funjumper.com/skyride/ and www.1800skyrideripoff.com. After reviewing those two references as well as the suggestion that the other user earlier in this thread offered you, you will see that the user that is offering you all those dazzling prices and packages works for and is advertising for the company which is the same one you asked about at first in this thread, is the company that all that evidence is warning you not to do business with. The choice is your's, be careful and don't get screwed!" kermie, learn to skydive. you'll find your place in this argument later. All that evidence can't be wrong!!! jeff, your wrong often. like wading into this tread. he's got three awesome outfits local to him. i know all three use top of the line student gear, fly nice turbines, and have great facilities. lance well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo -

Kermie, you are lucky to have three drop zone's serving your area! I work for ASC, the Atlanta Skydiving Center. first jump course $130 AFF jumps $175 repeat levels $150 we have a package price of $1095 for AFF. this price is for the first jump course, and seven jumps. any levels that you need to repeat are $150 each. this package will save you $260. "A" license package, $866 (12 solos, 5 coach jumps, Hop and Pop, and a packing class) these prices have been in effect for years, and are what i paid when i was a student in 2006. the great thing about the uspa training program is that you do not have to do your first 25 skydives at one dz. you can do the first jump course and level 1 at one dz, then move around to others to finish your training. i've met "A" license students who had jumps logged at several dz's. we can be reached at 1-800-505-JUMP. yarak! what is wrong with you. you heartless bastard! show some sensitivity. skydiving is full of "things beyond our control" that's the danger, not the fact that we jumped out of a plane. geez..... well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo

I'm not familiar with the details of that. By any chance did you subject a live, conscious chicken to high-speed freefall? If, so, that might constitute the criminal offense of Cruelty to Animals under Georgia law (GA Statues 16-12-4, et seq.). awesome, yet another legal expert graces our discussion. jump on that, sport. make sure you get everyone who takes their pet dogs as well. well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo

I'm sorry, all of that would be very inaccurate, (almost like Bill himself wrote it). I would tell you look up the pertinent legal documents, but I can tell from the way you wrote that sentence that you do not wish to investigate any further. could you direct us to the "pertinent legal documents"? if this assertion is inaccurate, what's the skinny? well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo

heya wendy, "but if you can't discuss the issues, what good is the discussion." are you kidding me? i have tried to discuss these issues at length. i'm furious with myself for being here discussing this now! have you subjected your brain to the convoluted logic of these folks? if you haven't, spare yourself! calling jeff a retard doesn't make me look juvenile. the saturday night antics around here is what makes me look juvenile! really wendy, what would you propose my cause is? well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo

thanks for that, dittodog. the challenge in dealing with this bunch, is that they want to open arguments about dropzones, but when responded to they wander off into the whole skyride issue. i honestly could never tell if they just want to bicker(rather than jump), or if they are too stupid to maintain a train of thought. we are defending our dropzone from muckraking, inaccurate assertions and general dumb shit. we don't defend cary, because he doesn't need or ask us us to. yes, we work for him, in the same sense that the stockboys at walmart works for the deceased sam walton. the signs were put out in force, to advertise real dropzones. the tennessee state law that is being bandied about is not being violated in any way. shark diving/jumping/fucking has nothing to do with us. everyone has opinions about skyride, even me. calling ASC staff "skyride lackeys" or "thieves" or other derogatory names because they take great pride in the dropzone they work/jump at is ridiculous. if any of you haters think the "skyride supporters" here have a vested interest, or any concern for that matter, in the business practices, (which, for the record, have improved incredibly) of skyride, they are wrong. if you want to take the tack that we are some how complicit by association, take a real hard look at the corporate structure of the company you work for, the holdings of all your mutual funds, and for that matter the parent company of every business you spend money with. furthermore, you'll want to check the registration of every plane you jump from, even at your "anti skyride" dropzone. the moral high-ground is a slippery terrain…. the chicken jump happened, it was awesome. guess what happened to that chicken? we fucking butchered it, ripped it's feathers out,(gasp)........then baked and ate it. call the faa, aspca, and colonel sanders in! cat aids, gay skydiving, and ton of other shit was a joke. Do the premises themselves not ridiculous. Funny though, gayskydiving.com has actually generated some business! We “asc lackeys” are totally hooked on skydiving AND having a good time. The “armadillo leprosy boogie”, as well as the “mike paiser, space laser appreciation boogie” are going to be awesome. You are all invited. We do not create or control websites. We jump. And your mom has cat aids…. well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo

you have a problem with homosexuals and their right to skydive? what a bigot! I guess I need to ask you why are you defending Homosexuals? Aren't you in the Army? How would you CO react if he knew you are on here defending the lifestyle of Homosexuals? right you are jeff, he is defending homosexuals, and skydiving, and you and me. deployed, in a combat zone. we miss you robert! well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo

Is that where the "fifth attachment point" was invented? That page has been up for several years. Still funny as shit today. You did notice that the photos they used seem to be focused on the "sex-crazed" slant of gay stereotypes: naked skydiving, camping naked, guy with the phallic beer bottle, limp-wristed toggle technique, plus references like "Our staff of Gay friendly (very friendly) jumpmasters will make your first time one that you will never forget." Seriously, just take out the word "jumpmasters" and substitute "assmasters" and it would fit right in with the rest of the message. They just don't get it. Not all gay people are sex-freaks. don't get it? hah! i can ASSure you that the gay skydivers at ASC "get it" every night! denete, seems like you've spent a fair bit of time studying the site, are you ready to take the plunge? chuck and the boys will show you a good time, come see us! well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo

what can we do about "skydive nashville"?
lancefrazier replied to lancefrazier's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You're right, just checking to see if they would somehow follow suit, but that's ok, I didn't expect them to, so, When I get home this afternoon, I think I'm going to undo the changes I made and keep standing my ground. They can squirm all they want. I'll keep putting their shit in the street. That was like giving whiskey to a bum at the street corner, you give a little, they want more. Piss on 'em! no squirming here, sport. you are the one crying foul, while perpetrating the very offenses you describe. reload your website up with intentional deception, turn it into a public disservice announcement. i could care less. we are violating no laws, ripping off no one and are in clarksville to stay. your only chance at negatively affecting our endeavors are with the lies you promulgate here on this forum, in the market we serve, at the airport we operate on, on fort campbell, on your website and everywhere else. you are the one who started this, yet when addressed in a intelligent, rational, even humorous way, you revert to the vulgar mindless crap displayed above. jeff, by making the changes you have made, you are admitting that the site was wrong. by changing it back out of spite, you are confirming yourself as a bald faced liar. go ahead, "stand your ground". fight the good fight. remember though, that intentionally false and libelous claims are a criminal offense. all of you who take part in these discussions need to understand you are debating a guy who is here purely for his own amusement. none of this will in any way affect the situation at hand. several of you used to jump at asc and have joined the "we hate 1800skyride" faction for petty, personal reasons. i came here because i thought you guys wanted a debate. i apologize, seems all i've done is interrupt your circle jerk. now, you guys do know the loser has to eat the cracker, right? see you losers in the air. lance well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo -

what can we do about "skydive nashville"?
lancefrazier replied to lancefrazier's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
"Sooo,,, Tell me where you see a lie in my site and I'll correct it." although we are working piecemeal, jeff i sincerely appreciate your efforts to correct the misleading claims on your website. i will continue to do all i can to assist you in this endeavor. "This is a list of REAL Skydiving Centers that serve the Nashville and Bowling Green areas." a list of REAL dz's in the area would include ours. you might delete the list, or change the wording of this sentence. "You may notice that the other websites that you found advertising to be "Nashville Skydiving" or "Skydive Nashville" all seem to look somewhat alike, and they don't have their location posted anywhere on the website. That's because they are FAKES! They are NOT advertising for real skydiving centers! Beware of any website that is advertising to be a Skydive Center but does not clearly state their physical location, is NOT a real skydiving center. They will not tell you that they are in Atlanta until after they have gotten your credit card info and have charged you for a skydive that you may not get. There are only THREE real Skydiving Centers in Tennessee and TWO in Kentucky. Any website advertising to be in the major city like Nashville, Knoxville or Louisville is not a real skydive center" this entire paragraph is false. some of it's content is misleading, some patently false, and other bits truly libelous. it should be removed or completely retooled. "I just did a lot more than anyone else has, and even somewhat went against my own agenda" jeff, it is fine to have an agenda. i respect your position. i'm sure you hate having an asc dz right in your front yard. other people will feel the same way in '09. however, maintaining a website loaded with deception, which at the same time decrying deception in others is hypocritical. you'll have no access to the moral high ground until you begin playing to your own standards. well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo -

typos seem to abound in this mudslinging match. and for that matter chris, when you say "This one thing should some everyone the kind of people we are dealing with." do you mean the kind of people gt airlock presented a plaque to, thanking them for their support when you, nate and the guys won the gsl a class championship back in '04. it's a nice plaque, and you look quite dapper. we still have it on the wall. what kind of people were they? well im not a skyride fan by any means, but this sport is and always has been rich in moraly questionable behavior. -parabuteo -
