Two solutions I can think of... 1: A gallon of Roundup and five gallons of green paint. 2: Turn the yard into a rock garden. Much simpler to maintain plus no nasty pollution from lawn mowers.

What party is "mine"? You are assuming I am a Republican. I've never claimed to be. Only that I'm not a democrat. Maybe i have no party affiliation. You want Bush impeached for lying to congress and usurption of power, but both of these charges are completely dependent upon whether or not you like the guy. I don't like the man but i don't feel he lied to congress about WMDs, only that he had bad intell. That in itself is not a crime. Kennedy had bad intell concerning the Bay of Pigs fiasco. As far as abuse of power, you have only opinion and nothing more. Why not answer questions under oath? Let's see...I think...yeah, there is something about that in the Bill of Rights. If I'm not mistaken that issue is addressed in the 5th amendment? So that leaves us with the same conclusion. You want to impeach just because you don't like him. Well, live with it or get over it. Or move. Because this late in his term nobody is going to impeach anyone unless they find a really big "smoking gun". So sit back, relax, and enjoy the next two years. Better than spending all that time pissed off about something you can't do anything about anyway. Have a nice day!

If they investigate.... You're assuming an aweful lot. Starting an impeachment process does not mean bring charges first and then investigate, that's just backwards. As others here have said, your hatred of the man is not grounds for impeachment. Hate does no good. Half of those you hate don't know, and the other half don't care.

Those Bavarians sure take immigration seriously, don't they? -

Cracks: Fill with toothpaste and touch-up paint. Leans to the left: Let some air out of the right side tires (just before you return the car).

Constant use of degrading terms in reference to a certain political party and President most likely is what leads to people assuming someone doesn't understand the political process. Wrong. To veto any or all bills put before him is well within the powers of the President. If congress wants and has the votes they can then override a veto.

So - what kind of control would you have over the student body if you didn't make them do things that they didn't want to do? I mean - what power would you be showing if you let them do whatever you wanted? I believe all traditional students (young 'uns) should be required to take a life skills class to reinforce (or learn) common sense. After most of the winter here was mild, we got hit by a cold spell that had temps down around 0 F. and winds gusting in the 20-30 mph range. You'd think kids would have sense enough to forget fashion for a while and dress sensibly, but evidently some don't. I saw kids, girls mostly, getting out of their cars and walking to class dressed like it was spring time.

Nope. Requiring students to take a PE class would only get the unwilling to do a minimal amount of excersize and only for the length of the term. After they complete the requirement it's back to Twinkies and TV. Students who want to stay fit and active will do so without being required.

Lieing to congress perhaps. Using WMDs as a reason to invade Iraq was based on faulty intell, the same intell that other countries had and that members of congress had access to. Remember, Hillary herself said we could not stand by and do nothing if we had reasonable cause to believe Iraq did have those WMDs and she subsequently voted to go to war. You would be hard pressed to prove Bush intentionally misled congress about WMDs, and though he has made a lot of bonehead decisions that in itself is nothing near an impeachable offense. If anything, "censure and move on" would be the best course if congress wants to do something. BZZZZT, wrong answer. Thanks for playing "Parroting the Republican talking points". There is tons for documentation that ShrubCo "fixed the "facts" around the policy". Start with the Downing Street Memos. The lying shitsacks decided to engage in a premeditated war of agression against Iraq. WMDs were a convenient pretext that the Conservative/Corporate media bought hook, line, and sinker. Saying lies over and over again does not make them true. Even if Shrub himself says so. Who's parroting whom? That whole statement is nothing more than conjecture and subject to individual interpretation. Anything that could even be remotely considered eveidence that Bush lied would be paper-thin and circumstantial at best. You give the man credit for being a lot smarter than he actually is.

The current political and economical situations in China is probably further removed from the communism doctrine than the US ones. And that is not to say that the US is even remotely a "communist" country.

They aren't in Iraq because we have an all volunteer military. I just got back from spending four days visiting a friend who goes into basic training in 6 weeks, then to OCS. His grandfather was an artillary officer in WWII so he knows the risks involved, just as all who serve in the military. Basic fact of life....soldiers are recruited and trained to fight and sometimes this fighting results in death. Nobody is "sent to their death" by Bush. That's a bs argument. Don't want to fight in a war, don't join the military.

And that has what to do with freedom of speech here in the U.S.? Right. Communism is so much better to live under.

I couldn't agree more.

According to your article, they were arrested for breaking existing laws. Can't demonstrate inside a government building. Don't know whay they would other than to disrupt operations. (Much more visible outside the building) Can't cross a police line. That's pretty much common sense. And why wouldn't they get a permit? It's easy, it's cheap (if not free), and they would be in good graces with the police and less likely to get arrested. That's it! They WANTED to get arrested! So they got what they wanted then bitched about it. You must think right to free speech means say and do anything anywhere anytime. Sorry, but that's not freedom. That's anarchy.

Three replies before CDIF isn't a record, but it's a solid effort anyway. I give you a B. I'll try harder next time.

Did God put dinosaur fossils on Earth to confuse scientists?
willard replied to unformed's topic in Speakers Corner
TRue, but at the end of teh day, science is still a theory, which makes it a sort of belief. I do like that about science tho, even when they have plenty to call things fact, they carefully call them theories. Yes, you are correct. However, "theory" has more than one definition. It's meaning in common use, where it is used to describe a guess or hunch, is much different than the meaning in the scientic community where a theory is a hypothosis that has withstood tests and trials to disprove it. Since a basic rule of science is that nothing can be proven, only disproved, a theory is about as close to being proven as you can get. Religions always fall back on the idea that since science can't disprove God then He has to be real. Can't disprove the FSM either. Or Nessie. -
I guess Bush really did learn something from Clinton.
