  1. The UK doesn't want private citizens to have any weapon that the French may view as threatening and cause them to surrender....again.
  2. I needed to accessorize mine, so I ordered the RNC Secret Decoder Ring. But, after decoding "W's" latest speech, it just said: "Be sure to drink your Kool-Aid" Damn! A crummy commercial? One of us goofed up decoding, cuz I got "Kitty litter matts $2.00 at Wal-Mart".
  3. Some people need to get a sense of humor. That song dates back to '79-'80 Iran hostage crises. I listened to it driving to school.
  4. I may be wrong (have been before) but I think the ACLU stepped in at one point and prevented mental health records from being disclosed.
  5. Too tough for me to call. Need some input.
  6. Did you know that chipmunks are not real monks???
  7. "Brighter whiter teeth for just pennies a day! New scientific discoveries allow you to improve your smile in the privacy of your own home! Don't delay! Get started NOW on your way to your new and improved smile! Available only while supplies last so send $29.95 and get the brighter whiter smile you deserve!" (Side effects may include, but not limited to, bad breath, hair loss, smelly feet, hangnails, warts, ......)
  8. Being the wisest of the rodents, Socrates was in no rush to test the cheese spread upon the contraption of wood and wire. "Go ahead," he urged his wife, "It's safe. Get the cheese!"
  9. One year I drove all night to get to Oshkosh for the airshow. I was in such a hurry to get inside and start gawking at all the cool airplanes that I didn't pay the least bit of attention to where I parked. You have no idea how big that place is until you can't find your car, your dead tired, and it's getting dark.
  10. Yep. Left side, repaired by laproscopic surgery. In the hospital at 6:00, back home by noon. Couple days of rest then was getting around pretty well. Within a week I was back to about 80%, back to 95% within two weeks. Quite honestly, except for the first few hours after waking up from the operation, the worst part was waiting for the surgery date. Follow Docs instructions for the quickest recovery.
  11. discuss... Considering the history of the 20th Century, I'm surprised more Europeans don't feel the need to have protections from their government. (generally speaking) we're not as paranoid as the average American
  12. I can think of 32 people who might disagree. I can think of a few problems with this. Notice comes in that a college age kid is walking around with a handgun killing other students...the info on this shooter is limited but he might be male and tall. How does any member of the assault team know who the kid is? Now they start looking in windows and see nothing but college men with handguns in the entire building....while looking around they see some shooting from inside classroom out into the hallway at something. Meanwhile reports of students getting killed are still coming out from the students that got out of the building (who will all spend the next few days in jail because they had handguns and the need to figure out who was killing and who was doing it in self defence). Meanwhile the order to shoot the killer comes in.....and friendly fire happens to some students. Also, the killer could actually escape alive in this scenario if he kept his face covered and acted like he was only shooting in self defence. Don't forget that there was a lot of panic from these students and they didn't know who the killer was....so on the way out of the building they see another kid with a gun so they shoot first and ask questions later....another friendly fire death. This is really a big 'what if' scenario but for every person that says more guns would have meant less bodies I tend not to agree with them. So we just ban possession of any weapon and trust in the mercy of a madman to stop his killing in a timely manner. The only thing that stopped the death toll at VT from reaching triple digits was the gunman taking his own life.
  13. I can think of 32 people who might disagree. To that I say - have some stones, you're not getting shot. I'll go ahead and put money on it. If either you or Willard get shot and killed in a mass murder situation then I'll walk across the UK buck naked and playing my dick like an air guitar while singing Jingle Bells at the top of my lungs. So let it be written, so let it be done. Again, NO reason to have a gun in class. Willard, an M14 without a pin is really great for making synchronized clicking sounds when we fixed bayonettes during parades. Otherwise it was a fucking nuisance that only got me demerits if it wasn't clean enough. I would agree with you 100% that there will probably never be any reason for any one particular student to use a weapon, but there is still a reason to carry one. Two different concepts. Ok, so an M-14 without a firing pin is not just a stick, it's a noisy stick. A noisy stick that must remain spotless.
  14. DUDE.. do not forget death by all the ninja's OOPS! Add "Death by Ninja" to the list. (In "Good Guys Wear Black" Chuck Norris said that Ninjas were outlawed hundreds of years ago.)
  15. No reason at all. Unless you don't want to be a victim. An M-14 without a firing pin is nothing but a stick.
  16. Nothing Accidental about it , In the Canadian Forces we changed it from accidental to negligent discharge and $1000 dollar fine to go with it. This included when training with blank's and all weapon systems. Needless to say some peoples attituds changed pretty quick That's the way it should be everwhere.
  17. My point was a very simple one also. Their law did not stop that man from getting a gun and killing. What part of that don't you understand?? Maybe their laws have stopped countless murders...we don't know that, do we? The only way to know would be to compare their crime rates before and after their laws were passed. (It would also be helpful to be able to read the minds of potential criminals) Since that isn't what my contention dealt with and I have better things to do I'll leave that research up to you if you want to know the answer. While you're at it look up the incidence of murder by knife, baseball bat, rock, sewer pipe, or whatever else you like and compare Japan's statistics to those here in the U.S. I think you'll find that murder in their society, by any means, is much lower than ours.
  18. I did read the entire article. If you read your own post you would answer your own question. "...in a country where handguns are strictly banned..." "Strictly banned." Yet the killer wanted a gun and was able to get one. Their laws did a lot to stop him.
  19. It was ME! (But go ahead and blame the dog.)
  20. I hope you didn't actually waste an hour and a half of your life watching that junk.
  21. Maybe it's the sane people who have been locked up by the insane.
