  1. Yep, there sure are a bunch of far-right folk who feel that way. Fortunatly they are a very small minority. As far as Gen. Franks and his concerns over martial law, explain how you can believe and trust his views on that subject when I know you will call "bullshit" at his opinion of Bush. As quoted form the article you posted the link to...
  2. Ahhh...I see. You do realize, of course, that is the opinion of one man? And that he was talking a hypothetical situation? And that the decision to institute martial law is not his? Sorry I was confused. I thought you were inferring that martial law was imminent at somepoint. There is a whole lot that would have to happen, most of which has never happened before, in order for the circunstances to even evolve to the point where martial law could even be considered. Also, I don't think it is safe to assume the military leaders would blindly follow Bushhead if he tried to impose ML.
  3. Odds are he'll be driving for RCR in '08 unless he can strike a deal with Hendrick and they add another car to the stable. Jr wants a championship and these two teams are his surest way there.
  4. I guess we will revisit this AFTER martial law is declared... THEN I think some other groups of Americans will be in the same boat as many American muslims have been for the last 5 years. Martial law?? Whatever makes you think martial law will be declared anytime in the future?
  5. ok, thanks. I was curious as to if the benefits would be worth the extra trip. I guess it would be a worthwhile trip. I drive a Focus so the comparison to a Civic is a good one.
  6. A couple years ago I had a professor who had escaped the "purification" of Cambodia when he was in his early teens. He somehow managed to make his way into the U.S where he found work and got his education. The tales he told of the atrocities were hard to believe but were typical of those from others who lived through it.
  7. I guess since they were with him ... rather than against him... they were rewarded by being with the party... hmm where have we heard that before.. Same can be said of any administration this country has endured. Big difference is that under Hitler, if you didn't agree you didn't exist for long. I honestly don't think anyone has to fear that here.
  8. Serious question here....no sarcasm intended. If I decided to chnage all my household bulbs to CFL and made a trip to Home Depot just to buy them, how much CO2 would I put in the air in a round trip that was, say, 10 miles total and my car used 1 gallon of gas? Just wondering if the CO2 created by my car would be greater than saved by swithching to CFL. Oh, I have 8 bulbs in my apartment.
  9. I am a Huge Boxing fan and really don’t care at all for UFC (Or Pride or any other sport where two guys roll around on the ground and look like two crabs fucking. If you want to fight, Stand up and Fight.. If you want to fuck, go find a local bath house or something.).. But I do agree with your statement. Boxing is dying out. It was killed by Bob Arum, Don King and other sleaze ball promoters and the pathetic greed and corruption of the ABC`s (Various Sanctioning Bodies). Boxing has always been run by sleezeballs and crooks. The UFC definitely has been better managed and promoted. As for Mayweather fighting a UFC guy.. Sure but make it Fair.. First they BOX a couple rounds, Then UFC for a Round. If there going to be a Boxer/UFC fight though.. I would much rather see someone other than Mayweather (Who primarily a defensive fighter with limited power) fight. I have the same bitch about UFC-type fights. "Two crabs fucking" I have no problem with the fight going to the matt, it's the nature of the game. But there should be a time limit. Once on the ground there should be a 90 or 120 second limit then the fighters return to their feet. But it don't matter much since I rarely watch. Not that the guys aren't tough (I wouldn't step into a ring against any of 'em), and not because it gets boring (I watch baseball), it's just that there is not a hell of a lot of intelligence involved in letting someone punch you in the face, knee you in the ribs, and try to rip your arm out of joint. I can go to the zoo or the local bar and see that stuff.
  10. Wait a minute! I was born in the 60s! The 60s are not retro! For a sexy look you can wear whatever you want, pose how you like, any adequate lighting, any medium, but if the eyes don't say "Take me!" then nothing else matters. Of course, all that other stuff can play a really big support role.
  11. I always thought it looked like the conversation was something like, "Dude, I thought you were bringing the bong!"
  12. In other words: "But JFK got a blowjob." Gotcha. Normally I would be one of the first to use the "CGABJF" line, but here it isn't relevent. Both the Kennedy family and the Bush family have skeletons in the closet. To hold the younger generations of these families responsible for those skeletons is ridiculous. Bothe JFK and GWB did enough dumb things in their own right. The fortunes that enable the younger generations to amass political power came from the ill gotten gains of their elders. Sure did. But where does the younger generation bear responsibility for the elder gens actions?

  14. Well, you did write: "Care to elaborate?". So it's been elaborated for you. Yes, I know that. I asked because I didn't know what the poster was referencing and I didn't want to assume. They gave a reasonable explanation of the connection and I replied with my perception of how the actions of P.Bush relate to GW Bush. Do you have a problem with that?
  15. The Kennedy family fortune was amassed by stock market dealings and manipulation that, at the time, were legal but considered unethical (filing false reports to influence stock prices for one). Those tactics gave rise to laws governing insider information, etc. Can't hold that against JFK anymore than GWs grandfather's dealings can be held against GW.
  16. Of course a boxer would lose to a decent UFC fighter. He has been trained to use his fists, not his feet. Take a UFC fighter, put him against a pro boxer in a ring and go by the rules of boxing and the UFC dude will be lucky to last 3 rounds. Not fair to compare two athletes of different sports. I seriously doubt Mayweather is a coward. Mouthy without a doubt but not a coward. Boxing is an art form that, for some reason, has not attracted new fans as time went on. I remeber watching the heavyweight contenders of the late 60s and into the late 70s....Ali, Foreman, Frazer, etc. Those guys weren't just fighters, they were like gods to a whole generation. On secong thought, I'd place even money on a match between Ali in his prime and any UFC fighter, even under UFC rules. Ali's reflexes were unreal, his power second to none. But most importantly he never lost his cool in the ring.
  17. true, but some of his family wealth is thanks to Hitler anyways.... Care to elaborate?
  18. Damn. That looks like something from the Inquisition.
  19. Probably no different than those who blindly accepted Clinton's policies and ideas while excusing his abuses because he told them whatever they wanted to hear. If you're going to compare our Prsidents to Hitler, Clinton has more in common with Adolph than Bush does. Both Clinton and Hitler used their personality and public speaking abilities to persuade vast numbers of people to follow them. Bush couldn't talk a horse into eating a carrot.
  20. I'm not much of an artist, but I do draw flies. Does that count?
  21. Looks like the last guy to shoot was the only one who knew what he was doing. All the rest looked soooo tensed up and "running from the gun" before they even pulled the trigger!
  22. Any idea how much investment a pilot makes both in time and money to get to the point of flying the big birds? Those are the civilian trained pilots. The ones who come from the military make a serious long term commitment to Uncle Sam in exchange for their training. What's your point? My point is that the salaries senior pilots make are not unreasonable considering the commitment of time and money it takes to reach that point in their career and the huge responsibilty of hundreds of lives in their hands.
  23. It went in easy enough, but why can't I pull out?
