  1. Thank God you have to work. Everyone was worried you might show up. They had put out warnings to all the farmers in the area.
  2. I started skydiving in hopes of spending more time with my girlfriend, who was a sky-junkie. I didn't let her know until I already had about 10 jumps. The plan was to do it now and then and stay current, but now I spend pretty much my whole paycheck on jumping. My girlfriend and I broke up partially because I "invaded her world" But I got something out of the relationship that no one she can't take back. A love for skydiving. I win. Now as to why I freefly (or attempt to). Basically it's because if you don't freefly at my dropzone. you have trouble getting anyone to jump with you. So basically peer pressure. Hopes this helps you out a little.
  3. The Mirage is being raffled off on Saturday night. Check out the website for all the info and a pic of the kick-ass rig. www.rodriguezbrothers.com
  4. Anyone else going to the Cinco De Mayo Boogie this wekend? It's goona be awsome and the weather is gonna be faaaaaantastic. Casa, King Air, Sombreros and beer.
  5. For those military and former military, The WFFC is a week after I start TERMINAL LEAVE. So I'm kinda getting paid to go. Plus when it's over I don't have to put a uniform on again. WooHoo!
  6. At least your DZ's have a beer light. Mine has a no-beer policy. And that means ever. So we all go out or go home after the day is over. I love going to other dropzones were people drink together. The seem so much happier.
  7. I am in the Army and I also am at my dropzone pretty much every weekend. (except this one. Cause I had to work). Depending on where you are stationed and what your job is you should have most weekends off to jump. Don't let any b.s. recruiter talk you into going airborne by telling you it is like skydiving. It's not, it hurts like hell. (round chute night 700 jumpers=pain.) Golden Knightswould be cool but pretty much tough tryouts, plus you need 400 jumps(Ithink). Definetly think you should go for it. It has changed my life and opened tons of doors. Good Luck. (Maximum age of enlisting is 35)
  8. Check out Chicagoland skydiving if your going to be up there. There website is skydive.com I think. It's smaller but it's nice and easy to get to from the city.
