I don't get how people equate good fashion with something that looks as if you've been attacked by a deranged gardener. Trendy though.
  2. http://cbs4denver.com/topstories/local_story_121234857.html At least they admit it.
  3. It was the Iraqii tribesmen who killed the group of terrorists. But billvon seems to hate America's involvement in this war so much, that he blames the U.S. for what Iraqii tribesmen do. And it's not the U.S. military making the claim of his death, it's the newspapers. So, either way, billvon's "we" title is off-base. Rather large load of bullshit you're peddling there.
  4. Found the same website. Very interesting. How much do they cost though? Edit: I called - about 475 for the Kalahari. I think I'll be needing one of these when I finish the basement.
  5. Waterless looks very cool. Question - how do you get the piss out?
  6. What is a whimpy subpoena to an administration that doesn't feel particularly bound by the Constitution? I think its just posturing. Even if they are successful in subpoening her, I don't believe they can force her to say anything.
  7. When that poor little girl goes to school, the grocery store, girl scouts, dance class, where ever, she has to deal with the fact that its national headlines. Everyone she sees will have heard what her dad said. That recording could have been kept for the custody hearing. That girl will now forever live with the fact that her mother would do that to her just for the sake of getting back at her father, who isn't going to be in the running for father of the year. What he did was bad, but he's only human. What the mother did is unforgiveable.
  8. This is what confuses me. He said something far worse after that.
  9. I heard the clip today. Maybe they are not playing it in its entirety or I am just missing something, but I thought what he said after the nappy head comment was worse by a long shot.
  10. With each link I click I am repeatedly left wondering why terribly written and entirely unsupported crap that certainly would have gotten me "The Speech" from my freshman composition teacher is continuously regurgitated in these forums as if it were some sort of gospel.
  11. You do realize the article is saying we (the US) are now less safe than at any point since 9/11. That is saying the "war on terror" is failing. I happen to agree. That is not exactly what it is saying. I did not read that the war on terror was failing but I can see how some could conclude that. When the closing clearly states we are more likely to be attacked on American soil than at any point since 9/11, I guess I'm not seeing how that can be viewed otherwise.

  13. Ordinarily Europeans whine like stuck pigs when Americans aren't subject matter experts on their parochial issues. One dilettante takes an interest in topical UK politics and you....well........ whine like a stuck pig. As the Chinese say, when the finger points at the moon the fool points at the finger. Quit pointing at JohnRich and address the topic if you have the wit. Jeez. You guys must have all hit your cycle at the same time. I thought the original post was pretty ridiculous and then I realized it was about the UK and from none other than JR, who seems to post about only three things: guns, the UK, and guns in the UK. I made a sarcastic post thinking there wouldn't even be any real discussion. I was wrong. Since there is actually some real discussion, I will now humbly bow out and offer my apologies.
  14. A little touchy are we? You obviously missed the sarcasm in my post. As far as the profile, I've posted my reasons for intentionally omitting information. Specifically, what happened to PhillyKev and AggieDave. Really makes you stop and think. I wonder if the Queens royal secret service doesn't have you under surveillance.
  15. You have a nearly frightening obsession with the UK and news sources of marginal repute.
  16. Isn't it ironic how none of the mainstream news media are mentioning this story? Google News Search Just two hits: Newsmax, and a local California paper. Is the liberal news media intentionally holding back on this story to protect one of their own? You can sure bet that if this issue had involved a Republican senator, that they'd be all over it like flies on s***. I think you are absolutely correct. This is a left-wing conspiracy! I'm outraged! No way major media outlets are holding off on reporting something they can't verify yet. Newsmax is quite obviously the only credible source of information out there. btw - I read in the checkout isle of the grocery store that Britney Spears' last baby was fathered by aliens and the whole rehab thing was just a cover so she could get the anal probe removed. Let me know if you see anything about that on Newsmax.
  17. They had a reason? Now that's funny. WMDs What about all the other places they invaded over the years? Liberating from evil dictator. Just go down the list until you get a reason that fits. I've seen it posted here somewhere before.

  19. The problem with this is that most people don't realize that the depreciation expense you take on your home office will be recaptured when you sell your house. That means you will have a taxable event even if you fall under the capital gain exclusion.
  20. Wise choice. If it takes that long and requires that much research, the chances that you, Acme, or anyone is making mistakes is pretty good. Small businesses are now on the IRS hit list and will make you over 3 times more likely to be audited. To be fair, a lot of that initial time was just tracking down and compiling expenses, income, and mileage for the year. The big problem came when I tried to include a travel trailer I use at the DZ (a legitimate business expense...it's that or a hotel room two nights/week). I couldn't figure out whether to call it an asset or a vehicle, though I'm leaning towards the former. Still, asset type and corresponding depreciation schedule were killing me. Plus, my 179 deductions weren't working too well for me this year either, and I'd like to convert some of them to "miscellaneous/general expenses" or something along those lines. At this point, a professional seems like my best bet for my 2005 taxes, and I'll absolutely need one for my 2006 taxes, so this gives them a chance to make suggestions up-front to make next year easier. Blues, Dave The trailer is an asset, but it will be subject to a percentage of business use. If you haven't filed '05 yet you are going to be staring down some nice penalties and interest (assuming you owe and aren't letting the gov't keep your money). I'd need more info to comment on the rest. Good luck.
  21. Make sure you really qualify for it. This is another item that will make your return "high profile". And for the love of god - do not take depreciation on your home office.
