What would you do with a cheating girlfriend?
JohnnyD replied to okieheaddown's topic in The Bonfire
No way either of these excuses are remotely acceptable. They can be filed right behind - I was drunk. -

Hope your buddy doesn't have herpes. And if you think he's the only one.......... Well, he is the only one you know of that did it while you were there. Respect yourself, always. -
If you're learning that in class, feel free to slap your prof and tell him/her to get an actual job and report back. GAAP being a thing of the past is about as realistic as aboloshing the tax code. Maybe even less realistic.

Would it be out of line to say: "shut your pie hole bitch I'm making the rules here" in the interview?

You See A Skydiver In the Middle of O'Hare ... What Do you Do?

I'd ask him what he was thinking when he dedcided to wear that shirt to an airport and on a plane. I'm surprised he wasn't carrying his rig exposed and repacking his main before he boarded. -
If I wanted to do that I would have saved myself the time of posting this and just done it already! So what you're really trying to say is you want a FWB. Its pretty obvious, because you're saying you just want to get in these guys pants and either consciously or subconsciously you're seeking out guys who are unavailable. Line forms on the right guys. Have your applications ready

Red flags?

How do you compare the wear and tear of riding a century on your body to running a marathon? I've ridden lots of centurys, but when I was training for a marathon, I couldn't believe how bad my knees/shins/feet would feel.

Clearly, you're allergic to the wedding band.

How about with the time honored "don't mess your life up like I did".... Probably not the greatest idea to tell your kid they messed up your life.

I have really been thinking about the inability of Obama and McCain to draw away from their base and I wonder about potential VP candidates. The republican short list seems to be pretty deep, but when I hear some of the names on the democrat list, I'm fluctuating between "who" and "why". I think the landscape will really change when we are seeing four names mentioned instead of two. Just something rattling around in my head.

Interesting thread. Does anyone know if this has ever happened before?

Maybe its just me, but the thought of amending a Constitution to preclude individuals from having specific rights seems to be so contrary to the principles of the USofA that anyone who would vote for this should have their citizenship temporarily revoked until they earn it back by volunteering in a VA hospital caring for people who make the ultimate sacrifice for exactly the opposite ideals.

Thanks for that info. Oakley just sold as well. I would not be at all surprised to see the quality of Oakleys going the same way as Gatorz.

Anyone get a stimulus check that wasn't the right amount?

Verify that your tax return has the correct number of exemptions. Is it possible that your child is also being claimed by his father? -
What we started was an attack to topple the SH regime to prevent the imminent attack on the US by wmds. -Done- There is one plan that addresses leaving.

Must be a Tough Day to be Crying the "R" word...
JohnnyD replied to Gawain's topic in Speakers Corner
He said this on Saturday: "We would be very happy if we earned 10%, pre-tax" on the additions to Berkshire's equity portfolio, said Buffett. "Anyone that expects us to come close to replicating the past should sell their stock; it isn't going to happen. We'll get decent results over time, but not indecent results." Added Munger: "You can take what Warren said to the bank. We are very happy at making money at a rate in the future that's much less than the past... and I suggest that you adopt the same attitude." I agree he's not particularly worried and he has no reason to be. He's not your garden variety American staring down an ARM, dwindling IRA account, uncertainty in Medicare and Social Security, devalued real estate, and soaring gas prices. The guy buys airplanes like the rest of us buy a gallon of milk. -

Actually he said this yesterday: OMAHA, Nebraska (Reuters) - Warren Buffett on Sunday said he does not expect financial markets to panic as write-downs and losses for bad debts mount in the financial services industry, but said those losses were not over "by a long shot." The world's richest person, who runs Berkshire Hathaway Inc (BRKa.N) (BRKb.N), said at a press conference the Federal Reserve brought markets back from a precipice in March in helping broker JPMorgan Chase & Co's (JPM.N) purchase of Bear Stearns Cos (BSC.N), which was on the brink of bankruptcy. "There's going to be more pain, sure," Buffett said. "The action of the Fed, in terms of Bear Stearns, prevented in my opinion the contagion where you're essentially going to have bank runs on the investment banks ... The idea of a financial panic ... has been pretty well taken care of. That was a watershed event." He added, though: "That doesn't mean the losses are over by a long shot ... We've looked at some of the investment banks, and it's clear some more losses are going to be incurred." -
You blinked and missed it too? He got ktfo - again. He'll be lucky to stay in the UFC. Maybe a trip to the WEC will help him regain some cred.
-
He didn't resign really. Its complicated. I'm not sure that he'll want to come back or if the show wants him back. Maybe he just needs a break. On top of it all, he's supposed to be in Amsterdam this weekend, so the whole thing will be moot if he od's.

Across the border, "a humanitarian crisis" is brewing
JohnnyD replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Then you missed the whole history of US immigration. Negative. There were standards back then when the Statue of Liberty was the immigration checkpoint from Europe. If you were sick or a criminal, you didn't get to stay. Plus, in order to be able to cross the Atlantic back then, it meant that you were usually someone who was already skilled, thrifty and enterprising - a good fit for America. The public school system has certainly failed you.
