yea they think it was the way they routed bridle over the pin and when the pilot chute was thrown it would put pressure on the pin turning it up and puncturing the bridle. At least that what it looked like.Crazy All I know is that it happened twice in three or so weeks and i make sure the bridle is no where near the pin now lol Its ok thats why I started this thread. To discuss the issues that each container has and learn about the differences. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Can you explain this a little more? Are you talking about the end of the pin going into the bridle where you view the kill line? I have never seen this and will check my rig to see if this is poss. on my rig. No not threw the view hole but right threw the bridle. How it happened im not sure but it did happened on two different vectors in the same month. I know that all container manufactures have there flaws but that one made me think about getting a different container. There are others too but no need to beat up vector on here. Like I said my first container was a wings and it was ok and now I have microns. I have seen and heard some things that im not sure if I like with my vector. One is that on two accusations in one month I saw the pin on a micron go threw the bridle and lock causing a pilot chute in tow. Very scary. I have talked to several riggers and all of them seem to like the infinity the best. Im not a rigger so I wont speak about how the reserves are packed in different rigs. Thats why I post this to see if some riggers would give their options on the different rigs Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

Ok lets try this again This question is for sport rigs. Which one do you like and why? I listed the ones I could think of and left other in case you like a different one. I have jumped a wings and a V3 micron. I'm thinking about getting a Infinity. It seems that every DZ I go to there is a container that is a favorite at that DZ. What do you think? Please explain why you like the rig... Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

what can a coach sign versus what can an instructor sign
ozzy13 replied to SivaGanesha's topic in Safety and Training
im not saying I agree or disagree with this thread. Look at it this way. If you want to become a electrician or carpenter. You need to start at a entry level. (coach) All your work is supervised by a licensed electrician or carpenter. Once you have proven yourself you go and take the test and you get licensed. Now you can sign off and supervise others. Not sure why this is such a hard concept. Its done in just about every field. Coaches can only teach non specific skydiving topics in a first jump course. They are only supervisors in free fall. Yes they teach on the ground and yes they debrief afterwards. But they are suppose to be under the DIRECT supervision of a AFFI. That is why on the two part card the AFFI is the one to do all the signing just my 2 cents on this Never give the gates up and always trust your rears! -
People dont like change would be my answer to that. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

what can a coach sign versus what can an instructor sign
ozzy13 replied to SivaGanesha's topic in Safety and Training
Thats not fully correct... There are two types of A cards in the US. The 2 sided one and the 4 part one. A coach can sign off some of the tasks on the 4 part one. Coach can not sign anything on the 2 part one.. This is the email that the op was taking about Who Can Sign Off? Periodically, the membership department has to deny an applicant’s request for a USPA license. One area that seems to plague members, including rating holders, is who may verify a license. The SIM (SIM, Section 3-1.D) D. Verification of Application 1. Experience verification: The certifying official should verify that the number of jumps and total freefall time are correct and meet the listed requirements for the license sought. 2. Skill verification: Jump numbers, scores, or date of completion require the initials of a current USPA Instructor, S&TA, I/E, or USPA Board member. 3. Knowledge verification: For the B and C license, the certifying official should record the qualifying exam score on the application. 4. Signature Verification: Applications for all licenses must be signed by an appropriate official (as listed in this Section) before the application is forwarded to USPA Headquarters. a. USPA Instructors may verify A, and B, and C licenses. b. S&TAs, I/Es, and USPA Board members may verify any license application. 5. Federation Aeonautique Internationale (foreign non-USPA) to USPA license conversions a. Jumpers who hold an FAI equivalent license may apply for USPA equivalent license without completion of the USPA A License Proficiency Card or A License Progression Card. (1) A USPA rated instructor must verify the FAI license of the applicant. (2) A copy of the license must be included with the USPA license application. (3) All other license requirements for USPA B, C and D licenses must still be verified and initialed by a USPA Instructor. b. The USPA license application and a copy of the FAI license must be submitted to USPA Headquarters for processing. 6. USPA will charge a separate license fee for each license number issued.) allows any current USPA Instructor to sign each skill verification block and the final verification for A, B and C license applications. A current USPA Instructor may also sign each skill box for a D license, but the final verification signature must be a current S&TA, Examiner or board member.' Even though a USPA Coach rating is part of the overall instructional rating system, a Coach is not an Instructor and may not initial the skill table or sign the verification box. It may be helpful to ask your S&TA to review the application before it is submitted to avoid delays in obtaining your new license. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears! -
YMMV of course but the best openings I have had on most canopies I have jumped are limp and straight in the harness, looking at the horizon, not touching anything. Almost all of my last 400-500 jumps have been on XF2 109s at ~1.8 depending on how fat I am on any given day. Before I first jumped a Velocity they told me "don't try to help it, you can only make it worse". So I have been practicing the "hands-off" approach to opening even on my XF2. Different strokes for different folks. If that works for you then by all means Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

I saw ur video. That is not bad at all. I trash pack my CF 129 loaded at 1.8 and it opens just like that. You need to fly the opening. With ur hands on the risers. Best wing loading I found for the CF is 1.9. It flies the best. That could have a little to do with ur problem. Good luck and be careful. Thats a fast progression for your jump numbers Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

ok someone please help. https://secure.gettyimages.com/Music/PumpAudio?esource=googMusic_Licensing&country=usa&kw=USA+copyright_free_music I went on this website to get copyfree music. I started talking to one of there representatives. What they are telling me is that If we reproduce it on DVD's it will cost $2000-$3000 for 20 songs and 20000 to 30000 for the whole library. They are saying its because of the reproduction that the costs are so high. The other option is dont tell them we are reproducing. But then we are in the same boat we are in now. What is everyone else doing ( The ones that are not using Copy right music) Our DZ is still using boards to edit. Not computers Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!

I put around 350 jumps on it. I have a CF 2 129 loaded at 1.8. It flies great. Have no problem getting back from long spots. Opens on heading and soft. The landings are fun. Great swooping canopy but if you need to do a normal landing its response great also. I highly recommend this canopy.
