Unfortunately Brad passed away (officially and for good) at 530am. This time there was no crazy miracle of his heart just starting on its own again. I just want to say thank you to all the people who sent me PM's and messages in this thread with their well wishes. It really meant alot.

So because my financial situation at the moment probably won't allow me to make 150+ jumps this year I'm a huge poser douche bag? So the fact that I'll be at the DZ every weekend packing to pay for the few jumps I will be able to afford doesn't count for anything?

OK...here's the crazy thing. I got text messages from 2 different people (one of whom was at the hospital) at 8:30pm saying he had passed away. I just got to work and found out that shortly after that his heart started beating again ON IT'S OWN and he's still alive as of right now. Talk about having a will to live. He is one hell of a fighter.

At approximately 8:30pm this evening Bradley Holmes, 25, passed away from the injuries he received while trying to save a woman in a house fire.
-
I am bumping this because the family needs vibes more now than ever. I just got word that the injured firefighter is not doing well at all. He lost both of his hands, he has gotten a severe infection from the burns and his organs are shutting down. So please, vibes, prayers, whatever you believe in would be greatly appreciated.

http://www.wlwt.com/news/15452824/detail.html There are some people in this world that should not be allowed to reproduce. The people who did this are some of them. I don't even have words to describe how angry I am about what happened.

I had never heard of the term base jumping before I started skydiving. I knew that people jumped off of buildings and such but I just called it skydiving. I didn't know there was such a huge difference between the two.
-
I'm at work right now. Which is why I'll be awake to call a certain person in the morning.
-
I'm gonna be greedy and say both.
-
True but most of the public out there might see that and think of skydiving. How many whuffos actually know the difference between base jumping and skydiving?
-
I do I do.

Because it's publicity about skydiving and it's not talking about a fatal accident. At no point during the video did they mention someone getting hurt or dying.

Ever shut off your alarm clock while still asleep/groggy?

I love looking at those skymall magazines on the plane. They have some of the coolest stuff. Grant it I would probably never buy most of it but it's still cool shit. -
Just saw this clip. Good publicity is good.

I seem to be becomming the official wake-up girl when working midnights. In fact since I'm on midnight ALL this week I have one person that I'm supposed to call every morning to make sure they're up for work. If you would like the same service just PM me your phone number and what time zone you're in. -
I know I've seen it posted on here before but I don't remember the entire story. If you look below the video the cameraguy explains what happened. I've watched it several times, but I still haven't been able to pick out the part where he says that his head hit the other guys ribs thus breaking his neck. To me it doesn't look like they hit at any point. Maybe I'm just missing it.

New Zealand parachutist gets line twists shocker!
iluvtofly replied to cpoxon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Wow...they actually wrote a story about line twists? That's pretty sad...though you gotta wonder about the person who felt it necessary to report line twists to the media as if it was something big. -
...to like a song? There are alot of songs that I instantly like the first time I hear them. There's also a good number of songs that the first several times I hear them I cringe and really don't like them. But then after hearing them several times I start to like them. Anyone else like that or am I just weird?

I've done it on several occasions....even after moving my alarm clock to the other side of the room I still do it...just not quite as often. Last time I flew on a COMMERCIAL flight I saw this in the skymall magazine. I personally think it's pretty clever.
