  1. But it is tax money not real money ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  2. I obviously lack the ability to articulate my point. Thank you! I thought it would be easier to articulate that I believe that there are things that are unacceptable regardless of culture and these things should be legislated using arguments based on logic and reasoning and that there are things that are unacceptable based on culture and they should not be legislated. Next time I have a point can I ask you to articulate it for me? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  3. No, they have the same intended meaning. Maybe if you read it a few more times you might comprehend it. Could this possibly be why I didn't state that the United States of America was right? Possibly ... All I said is that I think that the rules, regulations, punishments, etc... regarding modesty in the United States of America are more acceptable than than the rules, regulations, punishments, etc... regarding modesty in Iran. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  4. Nice about-face. What you actually said is: "Once again, the difference is that in this country people have the choice to be modest or not." The point of both statements is the same. The second statement was made to clarify the first statement. So you believe that there are things that are unacceptable regardless of culture. Wouldn't this also mean that there are things that are acceptable regardless of culture. So why should I accept a society mandating through rules, regulations, punishments, etc... their cultural view of things that I believe are acceptable regardless of culture? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  5. The cops are patrolling it on their off time, are a bit creepy, and have cameras, but they are patrolling. It is pretty creepy having a naked cop tell you, "stop or I'll shoot". "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  6. I would take it as a compliment because it doesn't mean you are bad looking it just means that your wife is really good looking. Optimism ...
  7. Wouldn't you agree that a society with fewer restrictions on individual freedom allows for the same amount of cooperation and conformity as a society with more restrictions on individual freedom that mandates cooperation and conformity. My point is that people should not be mandated (by rules and regulations) but should be allowed (by choice) to cooperate and conform. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  8. I'm not sure if it was that last line of cocaine ... but I think God is telling me to "Shock & Awe". "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  9. What amount of people would you find acceptable? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  10. What a joke, seriously. You do realize that the restrictions in Iran on modesty are greater than the restrictions in America and that these restrictions keep people from being different. This doesn't mean that America is the most right when it comes to modesty, it does mean that America is more right than Iran when it comes to modesty. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  11. In this country people have a greater amount of choice in the level of modesty they display. (What is the punishment for choosing an unacceptable level of modest in both cultures ...) Edit: Do you believe honor killings are also acceptable? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  12. Did anyone read the comments? Hilarious ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  13. Ok. So make a law that an individual can not be a Jew and make the punishment for breaking the law death ... problem solved. The point I am making is that we need to draw a line and we need to draw the line using arguments based on valid logic and reasoning, not whether the majority agrees. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  14. So true ... and the restrictions are growing with the Neo-Conservatives (taking away freedoms to protect us from others) and Liberals (taking away freedoms to protect us from ourselves). "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  15. Genocide no but setting your own modesty laws sure. Just like i can't go out on main street with my penis hanging out. If you need me to explain why Genocide should not be compared to mo0desty laws I will but you’re a smart guy and I am sure you get it. I get it. I just wanted you to state that there are things that you believe are unacceptable regardless of whether the majority of a culture agrees upon them. Why? Because what you consider unacceptable regardless of whether the majority of a culture agrees may be different than what someone else considers unacceptable regardless of whether the majority of a culture agrees ... Sure, there is a big difference between genocide and modesty laws ... but where (and why) do we draw the line? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  16. So if the majority of a culture agrees upon something then it is acceptable to impose their belief on the minority. So when the majority of a culture agrees to commit genocide against the minority ... you believe it is acceptable? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  17. Once again, the difference is that in this country people have the choice to be modest or not. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  18. The difference is that if I live there I do not have a choice of whether or not I want to adopt their culture but if they live here they have a choice whether or not they want to adopt my culture. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  19. What!? I think sitting next to the door is the BEST spot to sit. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  20. LOL, The way I read it was they had problem, goat dead, problem fixed. Good to go! Sign that bitch off and get it back in the air! Yeah, that is also the way I read it ... I wonder what they do if a wing falls off. Sacrifice three goats? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  21. Wait, they didn't just sacrifice the goat, they fixed the problem then sacrificed the goat, right ... right? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  22. Wait, that is your wife? On first glance I didn't think she looked old enough to have a beer. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  23. Have you seen the South Park episode with the Dog Whisperer? Edit: He should stop training people how to raise dogs and start training people how to raise kids ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  24. Compare breeds of dogs like we compare guns and knives. Both can kill someone. However, it is much easier to kill someone with a gun than it is with a knife. Thus, we create rules, regulations, training, etc... to own a gun. Does this mean we should create rules, regulations, training, etc... for different breeds of dogs? "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
  25. There are plenty of bad owners. Which means there are plenty of bad dogs. Some bad dogs are nothing more than a nuisance while other bad dogs are ... deadly. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
