sorry bud, didnt mean to hurt your feelings. what I was trying to get across to you was that, there is no substitute for expierience in this business. with my 120+ jumps I have very limited expierience. with your 20+ and no license you have next to none. my limited expierience tells me that you have gotten lucky a few times and pulled a low turn out of your ass, to avoid obstacles or land uphill or into the wind etc. situations that if you had any expierience at all you wouldn't find yourself in, because you would know better. LUCK is no substitute for expierience. my very limited expierience also serves me to know that a bigger canopy has a much longer recovery arch, then say a smaller canopy, due to line lengths. what that translates into for my limited expierience is longer distance to travel to get back under the canopy, then allow the canopy to surge forward and resume full flight to provide me with the full flare range of the wing for a safe landing. factoring out LUCK it's simple, distance = time = altitude. making low turns with little or no expierience you are simply rolling the dice. then you have traffic to consider, which my limited expierience (at our DZ 90% of the time 20+ canopies at a time) tells me to find my spot in the pattern, fly a predictable pattern, land in the same direction as dictated. regardless of wind direction. low turns in the pattern are unpredictable and can screw-up others behind you that may be on final. also I will continue to learn from and heed the warning of the instructors, coaches, canopy pilots with thousands of jumps, because my limited expierience tells me that they're not just telling you not to make low turns for shits and giggles. also common sense tells me these guys can fly a canopy big or small, I would be retarded to think otherwise. good LUCK with your progression in this sport, and getting your first license. if you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell

There have been many posts by men in similar situations. As the man of the house, you must exert yourself by informing your spouse that she will not dictate your choice of lifestyle. List all the things that make you an adult. 1) You pay the bills 2) Work a job 3) Raise your kids 4) Own a house If she continues to bitch, tell her that she has 2 children that she can mother all she wants. In the meantime, grow a set of balls and don’t get pushed around by someone who’s taken a vow to respect and obey your wishes. Hey YEAH I am going to go tell her right now that I am the MAN and I will skydive whenever I want and she should go cook something and go to a PTA meeting ummmmm just wondering where you live so I can use your sofa after ..... Thanx any way man come on man, if youre scared say youre scared mmmmm popcorn if you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell

dude youre not really in a position to even know if you see anything wrong with someone elses situation. youre not even licensed yet. all canopies respond to input, and unless youre jumping military rounds, theyre all sport canopies. and what grey area are you referring to? if you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell

also besides the O2 requirements above 15k some DZ's also consider turn around time for exit altitudes. for example; a DZ with a 182 that takes about 40min. to get 4 jumpers to 10K...well do the math, not very profitable to the DZO at that altitude much less any higher, or longer time wise. normally a tandem onboard makes it cost effective, leaving only two slots for up jumpers or only one slot if the tandem has a video, or none if two tandems. this type of operation is commonly referred to as a tandem factory. simply does not have the resources to support a higher altitude or up jumper crowd. another example: a DZ has a super twin otter that can bring 22 jumpers to 14k in about 10 min. all day long, the extra altitude is not that much of a problem. even with 4 tandems onboard still got room for 12-14 jumpers. everybody is happy. so your main limiting factors are aircraft/resources, and elevation (MSL) due to O2 requirements. exit altitude at our DZ is 14k were at sea level.
