The answer is simple. Of course the parents have that right. Is there an alternative? As a (future?) parent, could you imagine the state requiring you to implant an electronic device into your children? Can you think of other examples of where the state requires invasive procedures? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

My first recomendation is to go to a computer store and buy a firewire port. $20 if you've got a PC, $50 if you've got a laptop. Failing that, if you can figure out how to transfer the video to the memory stick, you're halfway there. IIRC, that process is relatively simple, but I can't remember how - check your manual for details. Once the video is on the memory stick you can access it via the normal way over USB. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Your need to refine your wager, specifically regarding "gear", and the definition of "wingsuit". I suspect any attempt to land a wingsuit on a horizontal plane must involve some sort of landing gear. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Unless the HC cameras are different than the PC series, you can't get good quality video off of USB. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Any snag problems with top mounted on Optik ?
AndyMan replied to Pawl's topic in Photography and Video
You're asking the wrong question. Don't ask "has anybody had a problem with this setup?". That question is meaningless since every setup is going to be slightly different, so just because it works for someone else doesn't mean it'll work for you. Instead, look at your proposed setup and ask yourself "is there any way this could snag up?" Consider all things, like ring-sites, chin-cups, stil-mounts, video mounts, etc. Every setup I've ever seen has snag points. Find yours. Then do your best to minimize them. Post pics. I'm not that familiar with the Optik so I can't comment specifically. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
As much as I'd love to support a skydiving business over a multinational... I can't think of any reason why I'd trade my stroboframe for a Goldmember. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Preface to say, I used to work for a telemarketer. With the former, No such system exists. It doesn't make ANY sense to pay to put a human on the phone listening to touch-tones, busy tones, or no answers. If the telemarketer is going to automate, they'll go the whole nine yards and have a sytem that dials, and only transfers to an operator once a person has answered. You recognize these calls by a pause before the person on the other end starts talking. With the latter, there aren't any automated systems like that because the economics just don't make sense for the same reasons mentioned above. There are some businesses that do telemarketing from a simple, normal telephone. It's very inneficient, so these tend to be local business calling a very small set of numbers, usually people they already have a relationship with. A classic example might be the dropzone calling you to remind you of an upcoming boogie. People don't tend to complain much at all about these kinds of calls, and often times they're actually appreciated. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Jeeze, do a search. %90 factually incorrect. Cellphone numbers are not being "released". It is, and will still be against the law to use autodialers against cellphones. That said, the Do Not Call number and website is legit, but it's primarily intended for use with land-lines. Make sure to read the snopes link posted above for details. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

It's not a bad place to visit, they've got some fun tourist stuff. It sure does suck to live there, though. Very high unemployment, very high poverty, very high racial segregation, and crappy schools. Upside is very affordable housing, and good cultural institutions like symphonies and museams. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Spyware is often installed via trojan horses. The most famous trojan is Kazaa. Any program downloaded "for free" is likely spyware encumbered. Secondly, spyware is often installed remotely through well known windows bugs. A study came out a few days ago showing an unpatched Windows XP system will be completly taken over with "bots" in less than 4 minutes since being connected to the internet. Details here.. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I could not care less about uppers. They affect the spot, but not my decision to jump. At my DZ, landing out is always a safe option. As for ground winds, my rule is dependant on the gusts. If the difference between sustained winds and max gusts is greater then 10 mph, I will not jump. I do not have a maximum for sustained winds alone. It's possible that some day I'll jump in 30mph sustained winds, but unlikely since high sustained winds tend to have strong gusts accompanying them. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Curling is definately a Canadian peculiarity. It was made an official olympic sport a few years ago, which is amazing. Most of the compeditors are overweight, smoke, and drink heavily. In any other country they'd be called 'trailer trash'... but in Canada they're national heros and olympic athletes.

Why are so many American jobs being shipped overseas?
AndyMan replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
I disagree. Nothing in the definition of outsourcing implies America as the source. Ample American jobs are outsourced to India. Ample Indian jobs are outsourced to Canada. Ample Canadian jobs are outsourced to the US. Free trade isn't just about shipping stuff without duties applied. Businesses have figured out that its also about jobs, and its about people. Unemployment caused by shifting industrial pradigms (midwestern steel mills, for example) should not be confused with unemployment caused by cyclical contraction (java geeks). All job losses are not created equal. Trade in goods AND labour is a good thing, which generates more jobs than it costs. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
