Where did you get it? Craichead and I are looking for a table for our new balcony. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Strangely, I found out about it on last night's Jon Stewart show. They did an interview with a Blue Cross rep that was all "RIGHTEOUS!!!!", really quite funny. You can watch it here: http://www.comedycentral.com/mp/play.jhtml?player=realplayer&type=v&quality=high&reposid=/multimedia/tds/helms/helms_10012.html. __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I wanted to point out a new Health Insurance option for those currently jumping without Insurance. Offered by BlueCross, a new product Called "Tonik" is being marketed specifically to people who participate in extreme sports, and don't have insurance. They've got 3 options; 1) Thrill Seeker $20 Copay - 4 doctor visits / year. $5000 deductable $64 / month 2) Part Time Dare-devil $30 Copay - 4 doctor visits / year. $3000 deductable $73 / month 3) Calculated Risk-Taker $40 Copay - 4 doctor visits / year. $1,500 deductable $80 / month And no, there are no exclusions for "extreme sports". This seems like an ideal solution for people who work in the industry.... or even for DZO's to (gasp!) give to their staff as a "benefit". I think in reality the knowledge that the hospital won't try to recover chopper fees from the DZ should a good investment In a sport where a tib-fib, femur, and an expensive chopper ride are very real possibilities.... These plans seem ideal to someone who thinks they can't afford emergency coverage. Annoying website, and details here: http://www.tonikhealth.com _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

The laws against female toplessness in Canada.. (or was it just Ontario?) were struck down by a court ruling about 10 years ago. In the following days, there were a few isolated incidents of women trying to go into shopping malls topless, but since then I can count on two fingers the number of times I've seen a topless woman in public - situations like dropzone bonfires notwithstanding. The laws are meaningless, since women don't tend go topless in innapropriate places, and cops don't enforce the laws (when they exist) anyways. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Is it not the case that if you ever hope to get any "pro" TV or Hollywood work, you need to be a member of one of the big Unions, like the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences ? Is it not also the case that those same unions prohibits you from working for free? I don't think that actually does prohibit anyone from doing anything for free, but I do think it essentially prohibits you from putting free work on your resume. The "credit" you get from doing "free" work is worthless if the work you're trying to get is in TV or Film _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Have you heard about the Google URL attribute rel="nofollow" ? It's part of Google's attempts to reduce BLOG comment spam - which I think would also help here. http://www.google.com/googleblog/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html The nutshell, is that if you add rel="nofollow" to your anchors, Google will not use that link in pageRank. This discourages spammers from posting to your guestbook, in the hopes of boosting their google score. MSN and Yahoo are implementing similar filters. It would be smart to add rel="nofollow" to URL's posted in Guestbook comments.. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Has anyone actually done this? I asked at my local Ritz if they'd sell me a waranty for my digital rebel I bought elsewhere, and they said 'no'. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Really? This one? http://www.parachutes-de-france.com/sources/html/clients/en/produit_t/97.html I've never seen one up close, but that picture looks a lot like the others. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I'd like to see them move to a upwards pointing main closing flap. You know, like the ones on: Vector III. Mirage. Wings. Aerodyne Icon. RI Voodoo. Parachute de France Atom Legend. No matter how many times Supath claimes to "fix" the main closing flap, I continue to see them open in freefall. Newer and better designs exist. There's no excuse. They risk going the way of the Racer. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Ooh! New toy! I agree. The above-mentioned "bastards" would do well to read the instruction manual that came with their expensive toys. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I'm thrilled to see an acknoledgement that the US does not expect the election to contribute much to ending the violence. The expectations do seem much more reasonable, to me. However, it does give the opportunity to ask one poignant question. Does the US even have an exit strategy? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Outside of CRW - I suspect that the real purpose of a hook-knife is to aid the user in keeping their mind occupied while they plumet to their death under a double-mal. Yes, I carry one - and no, it's never cut a rubber band. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I suspect that requiring registrations to view profiles would eventually be overcome - spam-bots would just add registration to their script. I wonder if maybe obscuring email addresses with a rotating SPAM obfuscation? Slashdot uses one, such that email addresses get displayed like: chicagoandy@nOsPam.gmail.com. The obfuscation technique changes weekly. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Absolutely, I just hope you can change colors. The last thing I want is to see a blinking red light, and not know if it's a cam-eye warning, or pull time. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. -
Before you spend any more money, I'd start by reading the manual for the stuff you already have. Every question you've asked is answered in the Canon manual. If you're not having any luck there, then a visit to the bookstore would be a wise second move - there's tons of good books on how to use DSLR's. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Unfortunatley that story is very much true. A search of the photography forum will show countless threads of whuffo's asking to see the video. Yes, the video exists. No, you can't see it. It happened in the early 70's, when camera equipment was so large, the recording head was chest-mounted. Also in the 70's, reserve parachutes were chest-mounted, so people simply didn't notice the difference. This is a good opportunity to remind ourselves that relying on our friends to save us in this sport will now work. Ultimately, you are the only one responsible for your actions. Don't fuck up! _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Quite the contrary, really. Now I'll grant that we don't test and reinforce evolution every time we drop a crystal glass, but to suggest that it's debateable in science is quite simply, wrong. Someone who suggests otherwise is either pursuing an agenda, naive, or ignorant. And no, that's not intended as a personal attack. There's a great many things in the world to which I'm both naive and ignorant. To acknowledge those when they exist is a strength. Evolution - macro or micro, (there is no difference) works. It started off as a theory that just plain worked, and a slew of discoveries since continue to show that it works, and moreso - is right. Until a better theory comes along, it will stand as the only scientific theory that explains the origins. In science, "better theories" do not replace old ones, they tweak the old ones. You can't throw out a system that works just because you want to. "New theories" always build on the old theories, they do not replace them when the old ones work. Evolution works. It will not be thrown out, or replaced, but tweaked. What you call "macro-evolution" is solid theory with demonstratable and predictable characteristics. To suggest otherwise only has value if you're trying to push a non-scientific agenda. In scientific circles, the basis of evolution is no more debatable then the nature of gravity. You don't have to believe it, nor do you have to accept it. However, you would be wise to understand that by openly contradicting it, you're showing yourself plainly to be one who's pushing a religious agenda, naive, or ignorant. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
-
I think the problem is that people do not understand the meaning of the word "theory". Lets remember, Gravity is only a "theory". Acknowledging this does NOT imply that it's up for debate. _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Dang. Thought so... You neglected the 4th option, bite the bullet and go entirely low or line voltage... That's probably the best choice. The Variac will clash with my stainless appliances. Why can't they just make cool line-voltage heads? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Heh... tried that already. To clarify, what I want to do is have a 120V dimmer switch, feed a 120V track, from which hangs a mix of 120V lights and low-voltage lights. The low voltage lights plug into an in-line transformer, and the transformer hangs from the track. All this works, except I have a normal switch instead of a dimmer. I guess what I'm asking is, will changing the switch to a dimmer damage the transformers? _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

I've got a mix of low-voltage and line-voltage track lighting. The low-voltage lights are plugged through an in-line transformer into a 120V track. I want to put a dimmer on the system. The low voltage lights claim to need some kind of 'transformer' dimmer switch, of which I know nothing. Since I've already got the low voltage bulbs on transformers, can I use a standard line-voltage dimmer on the whole system? Thanks, _Am __ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
