You need to work on your reading comprehension. He didn't say their salaries were lower because they may go out on maternity leave indefinitely. I am sure that at one point in American history, women were discriminated against. Their pay was less and the likely hood of them getting a job when up against a male applicant was lower. Things have changed. I interviewed numerous people in the last year for various positions. The pre-interview briefing I was given was intense. All kinds of shit I was told I was not allowed to talk about. Why? Companies are terrified of getting sued. Don't know what made me think of it, but it seems, if you were going to try and teach people how to skydive in there, you should make it as realistic as possible. The door is a very dangerous place...take great care that you clear the door on ever exit. Have a routine for hookup and use it every time. If you do something out of sequence, completely unhook them and start over. In addition to doing a handles check after throwing the drogue, get in the habit of doing one a little before pull time. First of all, we all make mistakes. Don't let a "bad" skydive ruin your day or your weekend. Second, it sounds to me like this skydive was the result of a poor plan or a case of too many people with a low experience level on one jump. You've got 3 people, maybe more, diving to a 4 person base. The base never built. And it sounds like everyone just hung around in the same area waiting for the base to build. If you are on jumps where what you have planned is likely to not work, think about and plan for what to do when it doesn't, or break it up into two smaller groups. What is the experience level of the people on the dive that are telling you that you messed up. If they have loads more experience than you, chances are that you did indeed make a mistake, hey your human, it happens. However, when you have lots of low experience in a situation like this, it is common that people mis-diagnose the problem. Methane Freefly - got stink?

It is with the deepest regret that I must inform the Freefly community, that Team Methane will not be attending nationals. It seems I am suffering from Toxic Stop Syndrome. This is caused when one's downward kinetic energy is dissapated through one's bones rather than translating it into horizontal kinetic energy. Sometimes Toxic Stop Syndrome, or TSS, can cause maiming, paralysis or even death! Fortunately for me, it has resulted in a broken heal, ankle and tail bone. About 6 years ago, there was a guy who had about 50 jumps at our dz.... Well one day, he shows up with a tatoo that covers his entire right forearm, from his elbow to his wrist, that says simply, "SKYDIVE". About a month after he got the tatoo he got hurt attempting to swoop his canopy by turning onto final. This was not an accidental low turn, this was a skydiver with about 50 jumps attempting something he had repeatedly been told he was not ready to do. Fortunately, despite constant complaining, he had not been allowed to downsize and his injury was very minimal. I haven't seen him since. Every now and then, I wonder where he is and what lame explanation he is giving to folks at his local watering hole. He probably tells them about how he's a skydiver and he's been jumping for years....yada yada yada Methane Freefly - got stink?

I would be very surprised to find Crosskeys letting 16 year olds out on tandems. I think there have only ever been 2 people who were allowed to do AFF under the age of 18 and they were both relatives of long time locals.
