    Bummer....

Ummm, well, yes. . . . Funny, that wasn't the first thing *I* thought of! Let's just say he knows some weird people, and that makes for some entertaining stories! Look, any silver lining is a silver lining! If that's helpful, go with it! TPM Sister #102
  2. That's terrific! Congratulations! I hope it was a great ceremony. Now the REAL fun begins! TPM Sister #102

Awww, have a happy birthday, anyway! Remember, if nothing else, your hair looks good!
  6. Hi, Minna! That's a fantastic story about how you got here. Sounds like you've already made the kinds of connections you need, but a friend of mine has an organization that you might want to look into: http://www.handi-capable.org/. He lost part of his leg in a roll-over accident and both skydives and flies in the tunnel. I have no idea how that compares to your situation, but the two of you might be able to compare notes and he might have some good ideas for you regarding freefall. Check out his website if you're interested. In any event, go for it! TPM Sister #102
  7. He's gonna hate us. TPM Sister #102
  8. Shhhhhhhhhh!!! Wait until mine goes through to tell him that! TPM Sister #102
  9. Interesting. I'm with you--I don't think it's good to have that information floating around electronically, especially on random applications. Can you substitute a note that the information is available as needed following an interview, or are these apps set up just to take numbers in that slot? Edited to add that I like the idea of inserting 1s or a # or something if you can't put in text. It at least shows that you didn't ignore the information or just fail to fully complete the form. 10. Forget the lint brush. What about a wet/dry shop vac? TPM Sister #102
  11. Go for it! That's great news!! Your wife will enjoy your reformed lifestyle--and therefore, so will you! TPM Sister #102
  12. How did I miss this whole career of yours??! I stand by what I said . . . disturbing! Now, however, you MUST post pics. It's that whole car accident effect. I just hafta look!! TPM Sister #102
  13. The disturbing question is why you HAVE creepy Burger King pictures! TPM Sister #102

No pizza. I had pork chops, green beans, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin cheesecake drizzled in caramel sauce. TPM Sister #102

    Are You Happy?

I know. Isn't it amazing?! I never knew that I'd find joy in the air, but now that I know . . . there's no going back. TPM Sister #102
  16. It also sounds like you've already put in a lot of time--and probably money--on fixing what you've got. Unless you can definitively figure out what needs to be done, it sounds like you could pay as much trying to do it yourself as you could to have someone come out and give you a fresh start. That's just me, though. I wouldn't have messed with it to begin with!

    Are You Happy?

I only tend to have issues with people who appear to be "too happy" if they don't seem genuine in their happiness. Anything that appears forced or that is disproportionate to their reason for happiness tends to make me guarded. I don't have a problem with people who are naturally upbeat. They're refreshing! And, of course, I understand people looking on the bright side and making the most of unpleasant situations. It's just when things don't mesh well with reality that I begin to object. TPM Sister #102
  18. The only problem I see with this is that the "uneducated" person you're talking about apparently has the knowledge you need! TPM Sister #102

    Are You Happy?

Just the other day, I was "accused" by another associate in the firm of being too happy to be a lawyer. She threatened to turn me in for disciplinary action. I think I'm pretty happy on the whole, but I *know* I've been a lot happier since the wind tunnel and skydiving came along. It sounds a little bit trite, but it's true. Those things changed everything. And, just to prove it:
  20. What?! You're gonna go getting all practical about it? Yeah, I know. Just giving the benefit of the doubt.
  21. Total hijack--but I have that sweater set and I think it looks better on you than it does on me. Sorry--back to the business at hand. TPM Sister #102
  22. There are a few "let him live out his days" responses. I disagree, but I don't want to bash anyone because of a different opinion. I'm curious, though--why? TPM Sister #102
  23. My schedule has no flex room, I would loose my job if I had to leave every day at 2 to get them from school, not too mention my gas bill would double and I am already living on a very narrow string. Sorry--I misunderstood. I thought you were presenting it as an option, even though it might be less convenient.
  24. Heyyyy! It wasn't THAT bad of a response! TPM Sister #102
