  1. No, I'm really sure it wasn't a VW. That's TOO rounded. I tried to maneuver around in traffic so I could get closer and get behind him but he turned too soon. Curses--now I'm going to have to drive the streets, looking for my little dream convertible. I like your idea of a kit car, though. TPM Sister #102
  2. Hmmmm . . . . The Google images of the 550 don't show the metal strip up the hood, but we're still in the right neighborhood for the overall look. Maybe it WAS a kit car. I really liked it. It takes a lot for a car to turn my head but that one made a statement. TPM Sister #102
  3. So, yesterday I saw a gorgeous red convertible on the road and have been trying to figure out what it might have been. My fiance suggested either a Carman-Ghia or a bathtub Porsche, so I took the scientific approach and used Google images. It wasn't a Carman-Ghia; it had rounder lines than that. In fact, it really looked a lot like the Porsche, although I couldn't swear to it. The car I saw DID have a silver metal strip running up the hood, though, which also looks very much like the Porsche. I'm thinking the odds of it actually being a bathtub Porsche are pretty slim, though, if those are as pricey as I think they are. Any ideas for what else it might have been? It reminded me faintly of something along the lines of a VW bug that has been flattened and elongated . . . and given some class. (I actually think the Bugs are cute, too, but you most definitely would not use the term "cute" with this little vehicle.) I know nothing about cars, but I saw it and thought "European." 15. I think if a woman feels genuinely loved, she will also feel respected. If a man feels genuinely respected, he will also feel loved. It's just a matter of which one is the dominant preference for men and women. I have no doubt that there are plenty of exceptions, but it's just a generalization. (Sorry, I'll take my X chromosomes and shut them up now.) TPM Sister #102

LOL! Thanks! I'd have to disguise her as something else, though. My fiance wouldn't be caught dead pushing her in that! TPM Sister #102
  18. I'm the wrong gender to respond to your thread, but it's just so tempting to toss in my $0.02, that I'll try to type in a deep, masculine voice and see if that fools anybody. . . . I think men and women both need love and respect, but I think they tend to need them in a different order. I think (sweeping generalization coming) women tend to want love first, then respect, and I think men tend to want respect first, then love. I agree that love and respect go hand in hand and if you have one, the other should be there as well. I just think the genders tend to gravitate to one or the other in a different order. In many ways, love and respect are two sides of the same coin. TPM Sister #102

  20. Just don't divide by zero!!! I'm trying to decide whether that leaves MORE property or LESS property to sell in the end. . . . TPM Sister #102
  21. You're absolutely right about living being more costly. I used death just as an example, but the same principal applies to the kind of catastrophic injury you're describing. I'm just getting at the idea that I don't think people should be financially responsible for additional injuries that are sustained by not wearing helmets. Of course, then the problem becomes one of proving what the injuries would have been with and without helmets and at some point it's inevitably speculative but I guess I see it as a comparative negligence kind of problem. 22. I'm getting married at the end of April and I definitely need the botox and the etc., etc., etc.! Wish you were here. Oh, and for the sake of the thread, I'm a real estate lawyer. C'mon, let's go subdivide something!! TPM Sister #102

I have a dog who would LOVE this! She used to love to go on walks, but has had heart problems for the last six years and can't make much distance. A stroller would be a GREAT answer for her! TPM Sister #102
