I know it's the playoffs, so we may never really know . . . but any updates on Orpik? He looked pretty dazed sitting there on the bench. TPM Sister #102

I'm being good . . . mostly. . . . TPM Sister #102

I think it depends on what kinds of giving and taking you have in mind. Some people are great givers when it comes to money and possessions, but not so great when they're asked to give of themselves (time, expertise, etc.). Others are just the opposite. I think most people will probably feel that they're "givers," but they may look at it differently than others. I'll gladly share my tunnel time, for example, but because I have no skills at all in the kitchen, I'm a total taker when it comes to cooking. I'm glad to help clean up; I'm even glad to help prepare the meal but I'm really lost with a stove. TPM Sister #102

It's always about sex around here isn't it?! I've never even read this term before. Is it anything like an angry dragon? If it's done right, it's hot and sticky. TPM Sister #102

Hey, Lisa! I still have no idea what's going on, but I hope things perk up for you! May all your troubles be nothing that a hot Krispy Kreme can't fix! TPM Sister #102

Whuffos / How would you describe skydiving?
Jewels replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Skydiving is like falling in love. Your heart races and everything comes into sharper focus. Forty-five seconds can be a lifetime and it's still over too soon. It consumes your thoughts; everything you see, do and say reminds you of it. It requires trust, confidence, commitment and risk. Sharing a jump with people you know is like sharing part of your very being because it's not something you do everyday or that most people will ever do at all. You know your gear and how it will respond, and even so, it is no guarantee that things will not go wrong. It is worth it. And, like others have said, no description will do skydiving justice because the best part about skydiving happens in your mind and in your heart and is so much more than the sum of the events involved in the jump. You must experience it for yourself. TPM Sister #102 -

We should take up a postage collection for Lisa. They must love to see her coming! TPM Sister #102

You have a cool mom. Moms always know that you're never too big for Easter eggs. TPM Sister #102

Glad you liked it! I know it takes a while to listen, but I thought it was well worth it. I hope you have a great Easter as well! TPM Sister #102

Very cool! Rice Krispy treats? I never get tired of those. TPM Sister #102

LOL! Oh, then a gift card to a store she really likes (clothes, makeup, nail salon?) would be good, or for iTunes or something on that order. It doesn't have to be for a big amount. Just a token would work. TPM Sister #102

How old is she? I love Smuckers jelly beans and Cadbury eggs. TPM Sister #102

Radiolab has done an interesting take on the Easter season, looking at Biblical accounts of Abraham and other stories but with more of a secular eye. I'm posting the link for anyone who might be interested: http://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/ Enjoy! TPM Sister #102

I like the idea of Peeps, but the real thing . . . not so much. However, Emory University did some actual Peeps research a few years ago: http://www.emory.edu/EMORY_REPORT/erarchive/1999/March/ermarch.29/3_29_99peeps.html. Sadly, I'm afraid the actual page at Emory has been taken down. Edited to add that at least the article solves the question of what the brown eyes are made of. . . . TPM Sister #102

The landlord doesn't necessarily need to come in; they just need to be aware of the problem and can then call the construction company to raise the issue with them. Especially if there is a designated smoking area that they could use, or a place that would be less problematic for smoke to travel, it shouldn't be a big deal. No matter what happens, though, I wish you the best. Cigarette smoke is really hard to deal with. TPM Sister #102

What kind of building are you in? Is it one that you own or lease? If you share a landlord, you can raise the issue with the landlord. It's not uncommon for commercial leases to have provisions regarding the emission of noxious odors. You might be entitled to have the landlord take measures to prevent the smoke from coming into your space, or the landlord may be able to require the tenant to smoke elsewhere. TPM Sister #102

Welcome to reality. . . . That would make a nice change from my Volvo. Oh, and the other thing my fiance asked me was to describe the grill and I told him I couldn't remember a grill. Looking at the picture again, I know why! TPM Sister #102

I'm so glad you found that. At least now I don't have to go crazy trying to guess what it might have been. I'm kind of surprised, though. I've never been overly impressed by Porsches before. Now I guess I'll have to re-think that. TPM Sister #102
-
YES!!!!!!!!! That's it exactly, except that the top was black. Ohhhh, that's a pretty, pretty little car. I showed Troy and he said, "So, now we know what you can't have." Life is so rough! Is that the Porsche? (I didn't see what you edited but I'm not worried, even if I should be. . . . ) TPM Sister #102
-
There must just be something about these lines that I like. This isn't the car, but I would drive it in a heartbeat. Troy had a 2007 Shelby Cobra (not a convertible) and I LOVED that thing because it was fast. This Shelby I just like the appearance of--although I'm pretty sure it would be fun to drive, too. TPM Sister #102

Okay, scroll down to the picture of two convertibles, taken from above. The right convertible in white has the EXACT chrome strip on the little car I saw: http://daveloop.drumtable.com/40_Years_In_A_Bathtub__Porsche__That_Is_ Does that mean it IS a Porsche, or could a kit car replicate that? TPM Sister #102
-
Oooo--not quite, but that's a nice little car, too, and the chrome strip is key because it was one of the things I could see most clearly. Now I want a bathtub Porsche AND an Aston Martin. Never gonna happen, but I sure like those!! TPM Sister #102
