    my roommate watches this stupid show all the time, I think it's either usa's next top model or project runway or something like that, it's about modeling anyway... and I briefly caught this part where they had these chicks pose for a photo shoot in a wind tunnel and apparently they had shown some tunnel stuff earlier in the show, anyone seen it or have more info?

    do a search here on the forums, this has been discussed a lot in the past. IIRC blue cross/blue shield is one of the few good insurance policies that don't care if you skydive. Actually I believe a few more options from Cross Agency work fine with skydiving. If you can get this through a school or employer it's great (I've been lucky enough to be able to do that so far), otherwise I guess you can get it on your own like Tetra suggested. You still have to check with them to make sure you're covered, whichever policy you decide to get. Usually they'll either ask you about it when you sign up, or you can find details in the fine print.

    I've seen quite a few people using skiing/snowboarding helmets for skydiving. Works just fine... maybe it doesn't come with a built-in pocket for an audible, but that's really not hard to fix... plus they are much cheaper than skydiving helmets. do a search, it's been discussed here before.

    actually derek made an otter for him the other day... although I don't think it looks like an otter... I'll post pics when I get home does anyone have any idea what I could do to make that little guy solid enough to take it on a jump? Like a coating or something that keeps it all together? b/c right now arms and legs would immediately fall off if I tried... it's the cheap Crayola clay for kids....

    270: head falls off. 720: head already fell off, arms fall off... now without arms, he ends up hooking it in pretty bad. then legs fall off. but no big deal. everything can be put back in no time. wouldn't you love to be like that? you could hook it into the ground on every landing!

    help me out here, there was this funny video where two guys are "competing" under canopy by answering some trivia questions and cutting a line every time the answer is wrong. funny as hell. I think it was Jeffro Provenzano and some other guy... can't remember. tried searching but haven't had much luck

    here's a quick fix for you. I sometimes had that issue on some windows machines. first look at the name of the file listed on skydivingmovies and see what extension it has (.wmv, .mov, .mpeg etc) when you save the file, rename the .php to something that has the right extension (so instead of .php it should be .wmv or whatever it's supposed to be).

    what I usually do is not drink coffee or anything with caffeine until I actually need it. Then, the effect is much greater. If you drink it on a regular basis, it no longer helps that much... since you've already been drinking espresso, try something different... I find diet coke with lime to be quite effective sometimes and if you can take a nap, do it! even if it's just half an hour or an hour... at first, when you wake up, you might feel like you're even more tired than before, but that usually goes away in 5 minutes
