  1. My favorite when going of the pac is a gainer. Been a while since I've done any other type, but with other a/c would either poise out or dive toward the rear, depending on video or not. Miami
  2. Thanks, that's the most recent one. Think my next smaller one will be some sort of sacred heart with my daughters name on my other forearm...then it'll be time to get my back done! Miami
  3. Lets see some new ink! USPA symbol is 11 or 12 years old...can't remember the artist, rest are within the past 2 months and done by Mike Higgins in Hampton, VA. Miami
  4. My Azimuth (pics here) also took a very long time to arrive, but was most definitely worth the wait! I can partially blame the delay on myself though, I did tell them to take their time with it as it was replacing my FTN, so there was not a huge rush for it. My Azimuth is the only one of that type I've ordered from them, so I can't comment on whether or not that delivery time is normal. Their delivery time for other helmets had slowed considerably during the past year, but now it looks like it might be getting a little more back to normal! Miami
  5. All 5 of the jumps in the 490 program (of which this video is from) are filmed using ground to air video. All 5 jumps are also solo's from 4500'. Yes. Miami

    Emo Spidey??

Or just watch it for free here. Really unimpressed with it as well...glad I didn't pay to see it... Miami
  7. That black and yellow reflex looks exactly like my old reflex...wonder if it is... Good video, too! Miami
  8. Not to mention tandems started without drogues at all...so drogue or not you should be able to fly your student! Miami
  9. If his terminal velocity was only 150mph its likely he had a very small passenger...I would probably do the same and pull a little high if I were in the same situation (with a tiny passenger). Hell, when I had an 84 pound passenger we considered doing the tandem drogueless (with baggy jumpsuits) until shortly before pulltime just so we would maintain a normal fallrate. Miami

Is it xeri or zero? I thought xeri was landscaping with rock and plant that use little water, while zero was just rock... Either way, there are no plants back there for me to kill (other than my daughter's potted sunflowers...but I don't touch those), just stepping stones and rocks over landscaping cloth to keep anything new from growing up. Thanks! It was way more work than I thought it would be...the hardest part was digging up all the grass/weeds and then the 2 inches of topsoil. That ended up being a lot of dirt! Once I got to the part of laying down the landscaping cloth/pavers/pebbles it took maybe an hour. Miami

I don't have any pics of them here...I'll try and post them when I get home... Miami

Not me...I have a black thumb. Anything living I might have put back there would have died a slow miserable plant death. There is a huge grassy area (nice grass, too!) right outside our back gate, with huge trees and all, for my daughter to play in, so I wasn't concerned about keeping any grass inside the gate. Grass and plant that I don't have to take care of is my friend! Miami

They healed up great...going back this week to go over the design and have my artist draw up the piece for my back. Miami

What a pain in the ass that was! Worth it though, no more mowing for my tiny plot of land, and right outside our gate is a huge grassy area for my daughter to play in...and it's maintained by the HOA! Before/after pics here, just scroll to the bottom. Miami
  18. I was really impressed by it...I have to work the airshow on the 28th so I'm taking my 20D and a 300mm lens. I'll try and get some good sequence shots of the manuvers (although the hover will be pretty boring!), photoshop them into one image, and post them. Miami
  19. Ok... Between the three years I spent as a performer at airshows and the other 9 or 10 years I spent providing medical support at airshows I've seen my fair share of the thunderducks and other various matte black aircraft. Miami
  20. On base for now, I get to play in the sand in Sept.
  21. Just got a chance to see an F22 practice a bit of its routine for an upcoming airshow...one of the more amazing things I've seen! Don't know the names of some of the maneuvers the pilot was doing, but he pointed the nose straight up and hovered for a good 10 seconds...no vertical or horizontal movement at all, did a back loop at fairly low speed on the nose of the jet...tip of the nose stayed in just about the same position as the rest of the body rotated around it, and a hammerhead type stall then flipping over the back and into a flat spin kind of position. Crazy cool stuff...was wishing I had some sort of camera with me...if you get the chance to see an F22 perform in a airshow don't miss it. They are scheduled to perform in the Langley airshow at the end of April. Miami
  22. Makes perfect sense now! Very cool, might have to try this... Miami
  23. I must be dense...it looks like the steering line is still going through the lower ring... How does the toggle get past it? Miami
