  1. Zute Suit is based in Wisconsin, just a little bit outside of Brazil They do make a pretty good suit, though.
  2. Sorry for the thread drift, but I seem to recall that the lead was actually from a shot bag (packing weight) that the jumper accidentally packed in with his main. He deployed, the bag came out with the main and went into freefall.
  3. Hey Cindy Lou, I want to preface this by saying that I have no reason to believe that you are lying, or that you have anything other than the best intentions. That said... It is generally considered bad Internet etiquette to give out personal information about somebody over the web, simply because we have no way to verify that you are who you say you are. However, I am sure that if somebody out there knows how to contact Chanda, they will give her your email address so that she can get ahold you if she so desires.
  4. Those are my colors, just flip-flopped. That color combo does look pretty snazzy in the air (as much as I can see myself).
  5. Corn, The P/Ns given in the service bulletin are Capewell's part number for the pin, not the entire pin/cable/handle assembly. Gear manufacturers put their own part and serial numbers on the ripcord assembly. PL-02 ripcords were made in 2002 by Parachute Labs (Jump Shack) with Capewell pins, and are affected.
  6. Don't have my logbook handy, but I probably did 5 or 6 sit attempts between jump 40 and 80. Around the 80 jump mark I had a "sit weekend" and did 7 sit jumps in a row until I had staying upright and stable nailed. I've probably done a half dozen more since then (50 jumps total).

    Geko 301

I happened to be in a sporting goods stor and noticed this model. It is incredibly small and light, takes 2 AAA's I believe. It has no port which to DL info that I could discern and it had no mounting screw base nor an external antenna. Unless you plan on holding it in your teeth or taping it to your forehead i suggest you look at another model. The Vista is a bit bigger(not too much) and has a means to connect for DLing The Geko I looked at a while back has the standard Garmin 4-pin data connector. It's software is almost identical to the eTrex software and the Garmin protocol is pretty standardized anyway, so it will probably work with most mapping software.
  8. Now I'm curious. What could the FAA do to an unrated ultralight pilot who violates the FARs in this manner? Ban/suspend him from flying? Make him ineligble to receive ratings in the future? Confiscate the aircraft? Or just say, "That was naughty, don't do it again"?
  9. It is important to remember that this classification does not mean that Creatine is safe or effective, it simply means that because of it's ingredients, it does not fall under the same regulatory rules as drugs. Ephedrine is another dietary supplement that is/was classified as a food product, and has been proven to be dangerous.
  10. CentralDigital has a great rating and the individual reviews are generally very positive.
  11. I attached a wider crop of the pic. BTW, it's not me, FallingILweenie is the one with half a body.
  12. It's in the Dropzone Document Archive under "Manuals."
  13. One of the cable channels (TNN?) did a show about Wings Over Chicago a while back. It was cool.
  14. I don't fly a lot, but Newark was the crappiest airport I've ever been too. Dusseldorf wins the award for Most Shiny Airport. Edit to add: I thought it was funny that I said "I don't fly a lot." My last 130 flights (129 plane, 1 chopper) I didn't land with the aircraft.
  15. Like I already posted, it's a hoax, but unless you plan on debugging Java programs, there isn't any real harm in deleting it, so don't panic if you've already gotten rid of it.
  16. You've been had. Details.
  17. I'm a loser and failed to get my pre-reg in on time.
  18. Even a paperweight has points of failure. Eliminating them altogether from the reserve activation system is an unrealistic goal.
  19. They only have two reviews on ResellerRatings.com, but they got a big fat zero out of 10. It also seems to be an alternate name for All Star Camera, which received a 1.56 after 8 reviews. I've bought a lot a electronics and computer parts online, and in almost all cases, the guys with the absolute lowest prices also have extremely low satisfaction ratings. For a little less money you can usually find a retailer with substantially better ratings.
  20. I don't get the whole "chick in a truck" thing, but I had an Eagles quote.

    TV shows....

The tone of the show has really changed in the last 5 years or so. Just watch an episode from the first few seasons back-to-back with an episode from the last few seasons. The Simpsons started as a caricature of the average American family, and has since evolved (devolved?) into outlandish situations and slapstick comedy. It still makes me laugh more than most other shows on TV, but it just ain't the same.
  22. Certainly over a mile from 13 grand. Tracking along a highway in a tight suit with booties, I've kept up with traffic. I don't consider myself an awesome tracker. Two miles would be over a 1:1 ratio, which I think would be tough, but at least one person on these forums claims to have done it, and I have no reason to doubt his integrity.

    TV shows....

I'm really digging a new show on Fox called Keen Eddie, about a New York cop working in London.
  24. It is not a recall. It's a quick test, and most ripcords will not fail. For replacements, you will probably need to contact your manufacturer, or wherever you got your handle from if you don't have the one that came with your rig.
