An official sign in a warehouse bathroom: "We aim to please; you aim too, please."

Gigantic (300K) scan here. We got a full page in the independent student paper. And I got a quote! Some sentences got dropped from the middle and end of it, so I sound like a doofus, but hey... And pay no attention to the "180 mph" part. I think I might be responsible for that.

I saw this painted on a bridge: "I don't want the world, I just want your half."

I'm a part-time IT specialist / programmer for a large department in a very large college. Not a bad gig for a 19 year old.

"You're all on dope!" That's a great movie.

For a million dollars? Short of purposely injuring myself, there isn't a whole lot I wouldn't do. Of course, everybody else involved would have to be ok with it (i.e., no burning down a random building or something).

I always thought that this was the kind of thing you didn't talk about in public.

The other systems also play DVD and although it's a matter of preference, I think the Xbox and Gamecube do it better.

I only own a PS2, but I prefer it over the XBox and Gamecube. At this time, PS2 still has the lead in game quality. They don't have the best graphics, for sure, but I feel that the overall quality of PS2 games is better. Plus I can play all of the great PSX games on it (Bushido Blade or Metal Slug X anyone?). That said, the Gamecube controller totally kicks ass in some games, sucks in others. XBox's standard controller blows hard. It you end up getting one, be prepared to shell out the extra bucks for the more comfortable S Type controllers. The PS2 controller is the old standby that works fine for most games. Other people have covered this before, but I'll touch on it again: XBox has the best graphics, bar none. Gamecube is second, and PS2 comes in third. If I had to start all over again buying systems, I would get a PS2 first, Gamecube second (Pikmin rocks), and then an Xbox.

Can't. My computer started rejecting my GeForce 2 (and two other modern AGP nVidia cards that I borrowed to test with), but seems to handle any other brand AGP card or PCI nVidia just fine. And a new 3d card is serious jump money. Plus I don't really want a Radeon, but I'd take it if one just, say, showed up on my doorstep. Phooey.

I'm playing a cool little game called MoonBase Commander. Incredibly simple concept, addictive play. Too bad the demo is timed.

Anyone have experience with bad dog services ?

Never bought from them, but the guy that owns the place posts here on a fairly regular basis. You can check out all of his old posts here. -
What the hell are you smokin'? Acceleration under Earth's gravity is 9.8 m/s². There is no terminal velocity in a vacuum, you just keep going faster and faster until you hit something.

Andrew also has some totally sweet raft dive pictures from the boogie. Attached is a couple of shots that turned out on my pansy-ass 1.3 megapixel camera: 1) Louie in a dress 2) really crowded packing area

A women has to save herself from a 200mph freefall!!!

Battlebots was cancelled. Not even Carmen Electra's boobs could save it from those jackass announcers. -
I don't jump an AAD. When I bought my rig I basically wiped out my bank account, and I only had one full paycheck left before I had to quit my job and go back to school. I had two options: a) Spend most of my cash on a used Cypres and only jump once or twice a month until I got settled down at school and found a new job, or b) Jump without a Cypres but be able to afford 15 or more jumps a month. After thinking it over carefully, rereading a bunch of old Cypres debates on this site, and talking to a very experienced jumper at my summer DZ, I decided that at this point in my jumping career keeping as current as possible would do more for keeping me alive than a Cypres. I still fully intend to purchase a Cypres once I resume working full time next summer.

But the Alias thing was funny.

I going as a cow, probably. Need to call and make sure that the "one size fits most" fits me.
-
That's a damn lie and you know it! You think, oh a rig, then jumps are only $18 (or whatever). Then it's an RW suit. Then a cooler helmet. Then maybe a fullface for winter. Then a freefly suit. How about an audible. That beer debt stacks up really quick, too. License fees, boogie registrations, special planes. Since late May I've spent almost 90% of my earnings on skydiving related stuff. That's probably twice what I spent while renting gear. Of course I don't have any living expenses to speak of, what with being in college and all.

if you use Windows XP - READ THIS NOW!!! (not a joke)

Jaguar is so totally sweet. If I wasn't trying to afford jumping on a college budget, I would get myself a G4. Actually, this might be my project next summer. If I start scrounging parts now... -
Not only came back, it only took them 45 minutes to decide not guilty in a capital case.

Geeks all over the world are clutching their chests and hyperventilating right now. Yes it's a book. A book so good that you shouldn't be allowed to reach adulthood without reading it.
