Well, nothing official, but I have a bad feeling about it.. The FAA said that they are working on a proposal today to allow GA VFR flights to resume, and they say that the proposal should be introduced this afternoon, but they stress that it does not mean that VFR will resume today...they are giving no timeline, either.. I wouldn't be suprised to see another week, maybe two, before all VFR is allowed to resume.. I hope I'm wrong.. The AOPA website is down right this minute, so no update is available.. Who knows - that may be a good sign...they could be updating the site with a new FAA ruling.. We'll see.. Mike

Whoa.....better put on the flame retardent underwear..

Brandon, keep in mind that the guy that sold you your canopies is an Icarus dealer - therefore, he's trying to push his product.. Even though he may sell PISA prouducts, ask him which product he makes more profit on.. I'm sure he didn't tell you anything bad about Icarus.. Just to put it in perspective, I have seen it take 6 weeks to get a new line set from PD.....and that was for a rigger 20 miles from the PD factory in Deland.. Plus, a line set is not something that is just going to go bad instantly - you will know, and can plan ahead.....unless you snap several lines on a Sabre on a hard opening.. I wouldn't know anything about that, though.. Mike

I'm gonna have to go with Chuck on this one.. I have jumped the Sabre, Sabre2, and Hornet all in the 150 size.. The Sabre is outdated, and superceded by the Sabre2 - as far as PD products go, anyways.. The Sabre2 and Hornet seem to be pretty much identical in flight and opening characteristics.. The Hornet sells for around $400-500 less than the Sabre2.. The Hornet packs smaller than the Sabre2, allowing you to get it in a smaller container that will allow you to downsize considerably in the future.. You may have people tell you that PISA has poor workmanship, makes a shitty product, etc....but ask those people what their reserve is, and many will say Tempo.....made by PISA.. I have only flown the Sabre2 loaded at almost 1.5, but I have flown the Hornet loaded from 1.1 to 1.6.. The Sabre2 flew great at that loading - I really enjoyed it.. Got some great surfs out of it, too.. The Hornet at the same loading flew about the same - no real distinguishing differences.. The Hornet at lighter loadings is very forgiving, yet still responsive.. If the prices were the same, I'd say to go with the Sabre2 - simply for PD's name recognition here in the US.....but with as much as $400-500 price difference, I say go with the Hornet.. You can also get a custom color canopy much quicker from PISA than PD right now.. Mike

This was forwarded to me via e-mail.. I don't necessarily share all these views - I'm just passing this along as I received it.. Mike

That hurts just thinking about it......and that is NOT comletely normal!

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! Sorry, flashback to a horrible time.......that lasted a couple hours......and to make it worse, it had one of those Baldwin guys... Mike

This was forwarded to me a couple days ago, just got around to checking it out.. Don't look at this with the kids around.....or while eating.. If you don't have a sick sense of humor, don't even look.. Hmm.. I still haven't figured out if this is somewhat funny, or just downright sick.. http://www.testyfesty.com Mike

I thought about that....Skyventure is booked all day.. Mike

Take up BASE jumping? Mike

And based on this post, I think you've been building your self esteem a bit early today... Mike

Actually, Lisa, it's really just a bunch of Cessna 182's.. They're going to fly formation loads so that you can put out as many people as a CASA would.. You still gonna jump? Mike

Get your rig back from Sunpath yet? Hopefully they get it right this time.. Mike

Speedy, I agree with most of what you said....everything, except this: Doesn't the Pentagon have something to do with military actions? Doesn't the White House(one suspected target of the plane that crashed in PA) have something to do with military actions? Maybe these attacks were not meant to affect the militarys capabilities in the terms of firepower - but certainly it was meant to affect the military in the terms of leadership.. Taking away the leaders will, at least for a short time, greatly harm the capabilities of a military force.. Mike

Your canopy may have the large slider on it.. I have experienced the 'Sabre Spank' on a 150, and have the X-rays to prove it.. Mike
-
Where exactly did you find this? I just went through the Icarus website, and found nothing of this sort.. Can you post a link? Mike
-
Just remember....even checked baggage is going through x-rays at most airports now.. You may want to show them your CYPRES card when you check it.. Who knows what kinda reaction you'll get for a CYPRES now.. Mike

That's correct.. As soon as your airplane touches down on landing, the IFR flight plan you were on is gone.. The controllers close it out.. A new one must be filed for the next takeoff.. Honestly, it wouldn't cause any real significant increase in workload.....especially with all VFR flights being grounded.. That means that there are a lot less flights for ATC to track.. Even though they may not be controlling VFR flights, or know who they are for that matter, they must ensure that their IFR traffic doesn't conflict with VFR traffic.. Not to mention the fact that many ATC facilities will not allow skydiving operations while on an IFR flight plan.. There's nothing prohibiting it - but most facilities just won't do it typically.. I may be able to make it up for Sat, but would likely have to leave fairly early Sun morning.. I have to get on a flight to DFW on Sun(not sure what time yet - won't know til Fri) to go to some recurrent training at Simuflite.. I suspect I'll be airlining out mid-day Sun, since I have an 0800 class on Mon morning.. Mike

Hell no, I won't.....I suffered that wrath once.......and once was enough! Mike

Yet another reason to like this woman! Mike

This has not been the case for several years, luckily.. I, too, have had things in the terminal that I should not have made it through security with, and things that I never would have made it through security with - but didn't have to pass through there.. It has always worried me how easy it would be to get weapons on an airplane.. Many ground support vehicles do not pass through any security checkpoints when entering the airport from outside.. It would be too easy for these people to smuggle in weapons and place them on the airplanes.. Mike

There is a website that has all the Nostradamus predictions/writings in true form.. Ever since Wed, I have not been able to get on it - it gives me a message saying that too many people are accessing it.. Give it a shot.. http://www.nostradamus-repository.org Mike

Cockpit doors are not designed, nor meant, to blow out in a rapid or explosive-D.. It's not like there's a pressure bulkhead there - there are plently of places for the pressure to equalize.....even if there were a much heavier duty door.. Plus, there will always be small areas(usually under 1") at the top and bottom of the door that are "open".. Mike

Hell yea....that's the truth man! Those stupid terrorists have obviously never suffered the wrath of a pissed off woman!
