Yep, happens all the time on my Crossfire....but then again, that's what I want.. It makes it easier to pull the slider down and stow it behind your head if you choose to do so.. With Slinks, the slider will sometimes come down and partly cover a toggle, but if you don't want to pull it down all the way, just push it back up the risers....no big deal.. I've never had it come down hard/fast enough to release a brake.. Mike

Well, hey...I'm sure you've heard the old saying.....If ya can't fix it with duct tape, fuck it - it's broke.. Mike

Cool....nice choice on the canopies.. I love the Spectre - sweet openings, good landings, kinda sporty....but just remember that on long spots, the rear risers are your friend.. The Spectre does not glide nearly as well as a 9 cell, so plan on using the rear risers a lot if you are long.. When I was jumping one(loaded around 1.5), I had to pull damn near over the peas to get back.. At your loading, it will fly better - but still come down fairly steep.. Mike

Oh, that sucks... The best way to remedy that situation is remove the slider altogether.. Trust me, it works.....try it! Mike

Dammit...I knew my lessons from Clinton would be useless.. See, my version of that line was.... "Hey, baby....that's a pretty dress...mind if I cum on it?" Mike
-
Hey, I volunteered long ago....and I even have the camera mounted on my helmet.......ya know, so I have both hands free for, ya know.........whatever! Mike

Of course green bottles....the only thing that cheap beer(usually in brown bottles) gets ya is a bunch of pissed off skydivers......ok, so maybe it's just me that gets pissed off..

I'll save everybody the trouble.......and tell 'em.....it's me.. Yea, I WISH I was getting some action from her! Mike

Hell, my parents didn't know I had even thought about skydiving until I had been jumping for a few months, had over 100 jumps, and broke my leg.......the last part was the one I couldn't hide.. Mike

What I have done in the past, for a canopy sale, is this...find a large DZ in the buyers area - preferably their home DZ if it's a well known DZ or has a gear shop.. Talk to that gear shop, or a local rigger, and arrange to ship the canopy to them as a middle man.. Have them collect the payment for the canopy, then transfer the canopy to the new owner, and allow them to jump the canopy(I allowed for 3 days).. At that point - if they do not return the canopy to the middle man with a valid reason, that middle man sends you the payment, and you pay them a handling fee for dealing with all this.. You need to negotiate the fee with that person ahead of time.. Sometimes DZO's will also do this for their local jumpers, so don't limit yourself to a rigger for the transaction.. If you name the area, maybe some people can recommend a rigger or the DZO to handle the transaction.....or, who knows - maybe a fellow dz.commer that you know personally will volunteer to help out with the deal.. What good would a big tree do ya? Mike

It figures.....that's legal, but grabbing your crotch in public isn't.. Damn Utahians(new word for the day) and their farm animals.. Mike

Whoa...do you pack, too? If so, will you marry me? Mike

I, personally, prefer the Butthead accent..... "Uhhh...huh huh.. Hey baby, wanna wrestle?" I must say....your dad sounds like a damn smart man..he nailed that one on the head! Mike

WTF do you think I do for a living? Hell, I travel enough at work for a lifetime.....I just don't believe anybody knows the language correctly unless they agree with me.. Easy there, boy....I'm nobody's bitch.. On the other hand, if you want to be my bitch.... Mike

Well, at least they are admitting that they found something wrong with the unit.. The one CYPRES misfire that I witnessed seems to have never happened....or at least Airtec/SSK never bothered to tell the owner what happened.. They said there was nothing wrong with the unit.....but, get this, they sent the owner a brand new CYPRES to replace the one he sent in that misfired.. Don't get me wrong - I think the CYPRES is an excellent piece of equipment, and it does its job very well most of the time, but I just want everybody to know that they are definitely not infallible.. Mike

I agree with the others - do not try packing it with the slider even partially collapsed.. If your openings are too slow, a smaller slider may be in order - but I don't think that's what your after.. As for the 'rocking back and forth in a mushy state', as Phree stated, sounds like your brake lines are too short, causing the canopy to stall as it inflates - which would not allow for full pressurization.. What kind of canopy is it? After the canopy is fully inflated, with the brakes still set, does it continue to rock back and forth like it's stalling? Mike

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! That's fucking hilariuos!! Only in Utah!! Next time I'm there, I'm gonna grab my crotch and point it at a female cop! Mike

Remember new pick up line.. Mike

Hey, I'll jump with ya....oh, I guess that doesn't count...I'm not anyone, I'm nobody..
-
And then there are those of us that don't sit out jumps when we probably should....such as the questionable whether thing.. Ya know, you look at the weather moving in, you say it won't get there fast enough to cause a problem, then on jump run it doesn't look bad.....but when you pull, you realize it's probably a bad time to have jumped....or when you get pelted with rain in freefall.. Hell, I've only ridden the plane down once - and that was when we got into some very heavy rain, and I didn't want to ruin my camera.. I've made some bad choices, but have been lucky that I've not been hurt by those choices.. I guess the point of all my rambling is.... Don't be afraid to sit out a jump if it doesn't feel right.. Mike
-
That's definitely bad advice...ladies, continue to give blow jobs in public situations......it gives me something to watch while sitting in gridlock.. Mike
-
I think you're just jealous.. Mike

Ya know, man....I thought all the gay comments were just jokes, but now I'm starting to wonder....after Lisa's post about getting naked guys on the shirts, you post this?! Uhh......not sure what to think now.. Mike

Nope, my canopy is too new....the serial number starts with 269, and the highest number listed is in the low 268xxxxxx range.. I have noticed no buffeting, but after talking to Perry this past weekend, I'm gonna go put it through some hard 720's and see what it does......at altitude, of course.. Mike
