  1. SAVE SOME GOOD STUFF FOR ME! I'll be there tomorrow by about 1500 local! Mike
  2. Don't worry about the specific airline. If your rig is in a bag, nobody will have any clue what it is when you take it on the airplane. If they know what it is, they are probably a skydiver themselves, and know it's not dangerous. Don't ask, don't tell. Print the TSA thing, though.....the only problem you may have is taking the rig through security. I'm flying out of Orlando tomorrow on AA, thru Dallas. If you really want to know how it goes with the airline itself(though I don't expect any problems at all), call me on my cell phone tomorrow after 1600 - number is on the DD list. Mike
  3. DAMMIT! I missed it! Show us again! Email it to me.....since I'm leaving for Eloy at oh-dark-thirty tomorrow morning, and won't have time to check dz.com tomorrow! Mike
  4. Give me an address and size! Mike
  5. Go pull a fire alarm. Preferably where there isn't a camera. Mike
  6. Better find out what the local laws are in your area first.....a friend of mine found out their illegal in certain areas(los angeles county in california being one of them) for anybody under 16 if they are operated on any road or public property(including sidewalks). Mike
  7. WOOHOOO! I'm leaving tomorrow at 0820 for Eloy! Got home from a week long work trip today(early, to boot!), finishing the final packing now.....then a few beers with some friends, and off to bed to lay there and not sleep a wink all night cuz I'm excited like a little kid on Christmas morning.... Mike
  8. Sounds like a kick ass time!! I'm looking forward to flocking with you guys, starting Thursday afternoon! Mike
  9. I've only ridden the CBR series a couple times....nice bikes(the 900RR was the best, IMO)....but the GSXR was my favorite. I got to ride the Hayabusa earlier this year...HOLY SHIT! I couldn't buy one 'cuz I'd end up killing myself on it. I realized that as I shifted into 5th gear, with the tach turning a bit over 10,000rpm, and looked down at the speedometer.. I had a Hurricane 1000 many years ago....before they changed the name to appease the insurance companies.....awesome bike, I must say...but it got me in trouble a couple times! Mike
  10. Just don't let Chuck....or Asaf, for that matter.....mix your Red Bull and Vodka... I never knew Red Bull had any color to it based on the drinks they were mixing.....THEY WERE CLEAR! Red Bull and Vodka my ass....it was all straight Vodka!
  11. With grace or not.....I wanna see THAT at Eloy! Mike
  12. NOICE!! I've flown the 540 a few times.....sweet airplane! Unlimited Class is an understatement for that airplane. I taught a guy to fly aerobatics many years ago in a Pitts S2B and an Extra 300, and a couple years ago he bought a 540. I ran into him at OshKosh, and he told me about his plane. I joked about taking it for a "spin", and he handed me the key. Mike
  13. Tell ya what.....if we're on a jump together, I'll save ya the pain of reaching back to pull and I'll do it for ya. Other than that, I can't say much.....except take it really easy. And....well, it may seem simple....but if it hurts to do a certain thing, don't do it. I have some shoulder damage that never had a chance to heal properly due to some sports I took part in when the doc said I shouldn't...and I do regret it. Luckily, the problem doesn't flare up very often - and when it does, lots of alcohol seems to fix it(well, at least it makes me forget what I'd rather be doing!)... Mike
  14. YOU SUCK!!! Well, at least until about 1500 on XMas day....when I arrive... Until then.....FLOCK YOU! Mike
  15. I think you need to post a full size of the pic from the shower head thread.... Mike
  16. 80,000 in 12.5 years. That's 6400 per year. 17.5 per day(almost 25 per day manufactured if you count only 5 workdays per week). Seems like quite a bit to me - especially since there are other types of AAD's out there. How many FXC's and Astras are there out there? Mike
  17. I don't consider it "high" risk, but I do a lot of cave diving and tec diving. I ride motorcycles(DEFINITELY high risk in Florida!). I used to race...but gave it up after a nasty crash.. Mike
  18. 2 :0:0 Usually, working over the weekend sucks....this time...well, not so bad.... Mike
  19. You're not gonna party with us in Eloy for new years?! I see how you are.....uh huh...WE'RE not important enough apparently.. Mike
  20. Cars(manual, automatic, column shift) Airplanes(single engine, multi engine, various turboprops and jets requiring type ratings) Helicopters Motorcycles Boats(been at the helm of a 100,000 ton ship once) Various small construction equipment Golf cart Got to fly an airship(aka blimp) once Uh....I think that's about it... I'll try anything once.. Mike
  21. Why did you land off the airport if you pulled at 5k? Are you starting your flights downwind of the DZ and flying upwind? Or maybe just exiting so far out you can't make it back from 5k under canopy, but plan on covering the distance in the suit? I exit well upwind of the DZ(last out, of course), and normally fly a standard pattern. Upwind for 10-15 seconds, crosswind for 15-20, downwind for the rest. If the winds are really strong, I'll extend the upwind portion. How do others fly their pattern? Mike
  22. How long are you taking off after the surgery? I had it 3 years ago, and the doc told me to take a month off....Jokingly, I told him I'd only be able to hold out for a week...he countered with 2 weeks. I ended up waiting a month due to weather and a move, but on my 7 day checkup he told me I could jump and dive as soon as I wanted to....just wear good eye protection. 3 years later, 20/20 each eye, 20/15 or better when testing with both together. No side effects that lasted more than 2-3 weeks(night vision stuff only). Mike
  23. Damn, this boogie is gonna kick ass....just hope I'm recovered from Eloy by then.. I need to see if I can borrow my buddies RV....gas would cost me nearly as much as a hotel for the week, but I'd be able to stumble to bed! Mike
