My phone isn't one of those special high tech camera phones....I just have a lowly Motorola for my personal...and one of those damn POS Blackberry things for my work phone...no camera in either.. Trust me, I've seen some shit I would love to have gotten a pic of...but by the time I could've gotten my digital camera out, it would've been too late.. One specific .commer is very happy about the fact I didn't have a camera phone during a particularly incriminating moment.. Mike

How late in the year is the ski season decent there? I've been thinking about taking a trip that way to do some skiing.. I may not be as bad as Tamer(since I have been skiing a couple times before), but I'd probably be damn good entertainment too.. Mike

I just tested out my Jello shots for the Mardi Gras boogie.....well, after testing 12 of 'em...I must say...they are good, and have lots of alcohol in 'em.. If you're not at the Mardi Gras boogie, you'll be sucking.. Mike

Here's the problem with that. If somebody dupes your card, and starts making charges on it....you are out that money while they company "investigates" to see if it was actually you that made the charges or not. If it's a credit card, you're not out the money....you just don't have the credit amount available - which is not a big deal. A co-worker of mine had his debit card duped. He had a bit over $5,000 in his account one day, and two days later it was down to less than $100. It took 2 weeks to rectify the problem(he had to "prove" that it was not him that made the charges), but in the meantime, he was out the money - which was supposed to cover all his bills including mortgage and car payments. All the checks bounced. The policy on this type of thing may vary bank to bank...so check with your bank on their policy. Mike

I've only got about $8k or so in gear right now....but I did have, at one point, about $18k in gear. Three rigs, two cameras, bunch of jumpsuits, etc... I'm down to one rig, several mains, one camera, and a bunch of jumpsuits(two of which are birdman suits).. I figure I've probably spent $25k or so on gear over the past 8 years...but luckily got most of my money back on it when I sold it. Mike

I don't know what it is lately...but in the past year, I've had the shittiest dating luck. I got home a few minutes ago from a date that just didn't go anywhere....there was nothing.. We'll probably go out again just to see if there is any connection or not, but I don't see it happening.. That's the most tame of my dates lately. The best is probably a couple months ago...went out with this woman with a 2 year old son. She said that she had to be home by 10pm because her mom couldn't watch her son any longer than that. Ok, fine...we went out early, had a great time, and finished it off with a good dinner before I took her home. She invited me in, and after she put her son to bed we sat on the couch and talked. Well, before long, I noticed something on her ankle. A small black box. I asked about it. Turns out it's an electronic monitor because she is on house arrest. She pointed out the receiving unit on top of the entertainment center. WTF? She is required to be home by 10pm every night, and not allowed out before 9am(they set the hours based on her work sched). I asked why she was on house arrest....she said it was due to assault and battery on her ex boyfriend. Uhhhh......I think I left the iron on at home, gotta go! Had another date a while back that I met at a night club the week before. She told me she was 23. We went out, had a great time, and ended up at a bar. They asked her for ID, she said she left it at home. She talked the bartender into serving her. I had seen her license earlier when she grabbed her cell phone out of her purse....so I knew she had it.. Well, when I asked her about it, she told me that she was really only 18, but always tells everybody she's 23. Does everybody get this kinda shit(PhillyKev need not respond, I know his answer), or is it just a few of us losers?! Mike

Backtracking is a crucial skill for freeflyers that most skydivers don't possess. It's a damn useful skill for all skydivers - but, IMO, much more important for freeflyers that get into big ways. The same can be said for barrel rolls during tracking....most people don't do it, but everybody should. Mike
